The Girl With The Dragon's Blood

Sammi and I climbed into her car and we agreed that she would drop me off and pick me up for my first day. When we reached the school we got out and walked into the school. We walked strait into the office. We must have been quite a sight. The freaky girl in all black with white hair and the girl with the technicolor hair walking beside her. But luckily nobody gave us more than a passing glance. Until we reached the front office that is. The perky old lady receptionist did a double take when she saw us. Sammi walked right up to her and started talking. "Hi we need to see about getting her enrolled." She said motioning to me. The receptionist blinked slowly before finally answering her. "Yes well were going to need her parents to do that not her sibling." She said with a hint if annoyance in her voice. Sammi raised an eyebrow. "I am her mother sweetie. So how bout you let me get her enrolled now." She said to the receptionist. "Hmm that's a very nice joke dear but this is a highschool and we really do need a parent to come in. Not an elder sister on an ego trip. So if your done wasting my time you can come back with a parent later." The receptionist said snarkily. I frowned at her and was about to say something to her when Sammi pulled her phone out of her pocket and made a call. Soon she spoke into the phone. "Jinxx hunny I need you to come up here. This dumb chick in the front office refuses to believe Tora is our daughter. I need you to bring those papers. Yeah. Those. They are on the bedside table. Yes. Yes they can come if they want but tell Ashley that he can't come if he's going to hit on highschool girls. Yeah. Okay. See you in a bit babe. " she spoke into the phone. When she hung up she looked at the receptionist. "I'm about to make you look like a fucking idiot." She said before pulling me to sit down in one of the chairs. In ten minutes everyone walked into the office. Jinxx had papers in his hand and Sammi and I walked over to him. We were earnin interesting looks from everyone in the office now. I saw the papers in Jinxx's hand and suppressed a giggle. It was the papers that said that Jinxx and Sammi were officially my parents. Sammi grabbed them and walked up to the receptionist and set the papers down in front of her. "Tell me about my family bitch." She said. The lady picked up the papers and flipped through them before looking up begrudgingly at Sammi. "Right miss. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Please go down the hall and its the first door on your right." She said handing the papers back and pointing. Jinxx Sammi and I walked back and knocked on the door. Another all to perky woman opened the door. She welcomed us and then sat us down in chairs across from her desk. She stared at us curiously for a few minutes trying to figure us out. We were quite the family really. Me in my all black with my hair and eyes. Then there was Jinxx with his black teased hair and eyeliner in black skinny jeans an a black t-shirt and Sammi with her hair that was black underneath with red on top and stops of white in it. We looked like the strangest family ever. After a moment she asked Sammi for my papers and he following converstion went something like this. Lady: Well miss Hime- Me: Doll Lady: Excuse me? Me: The last name I go by is Doll not Hime. Lady: Yes well it says right here that your name is Tora Hime. Me: Yes well it's wrong. My last name is Doll. Just like my mothers. Lady: Very well then. Alright well everything seems to be in order. There is really only one problem. We are goin to need you to dye your hair back to its natural color and you are not aloud to wear those contacts. It's a school rule. No distracting hair or peircings. Also your eyes would become a distraction. Do to these facts we are goin to need you to due your hair back to its natural color and your not aloud to wear those contacts. Me: (laughs) Look lady. I hate to tell you but I cannot dye my hair. Its actually inpossible. Therfore i wont be dying my hair and I can't stop wearing these 'contacts' because these are my natural hair and eye colors. This seemed to pull her up short. She stopped for a moment and then rolled her eyes. "That's very funny dear but it is not humanly possible for someone to have hair and eyes naturally like that." She said sitting back in her chair with her hands folded. I smirked and then pulled out my wallet. I kept pictures on hand for occasions like this. I handed her a handful of pictures of me through the years. Starting from a picture from the day I was born to one from earlier this year. But this lady had to be stubborn. After she looked through them she set them down and looked at me. "And what do these show me other than that you are a very good photoshop artist." She said. I rolled my eyes at her and then pulle out a piece I paper and handed it to her. "This is the number for the research facility in Washington. Please feel free to call them and ask them about my hair an eyes. They have four files of tests thy preformed on me." I said before siting back in my chair. She smirked and dialed the number before putting it on speaker phone. Finally someone picked up. Receptionist: Washington Science Research Facility. This is Meagan how may I help you? Lady: Hi I am a guidance councilor at Prestridge high school. I was wondering if you had any records of a Tora Doll? Or Tora Hime? Receptionist: give me just a moment and I will check our data base. A few minutes later. Receptionist: We have a Tora Hime in our records. Would you like to speak to the doctor? Lady: Yes that would be nice thank you. Moment later. Dr: Hello this is dr. Mitchel. How may I help you? Lady: Yes I have a question about one of your previous patients. Tora Hime? Dr: Ah yes. Tora. How may I help you. Lady: Yes well I am a councilor at Prestridge high school and I have Tora in front of me. Attempting to tell me her hair and eyes are naturally the colors they are. Dr: Aah yes. Well she is actually telling the truth. Durin her time in our facility miss Hime underwent several tests and we found she had a strange rare genetic coding in her DNA that causes the odd coloring of her hair and eyes. This coding makes it impossible to put false coloring into miss Hime's hair. Lady: Yes is there perhaps some proof you could send me of this? Dr: Yes if miss Hime gives permission I could fax you her files. Me: Hey Mitch. It's me Tora. You can go ahead and fax my files. This chick won't believe it any other way. Dr: Hello Tora. Very well I will have them faxed immediately. It was nice talking with you but I must go. He hung up the phone and ten minutes later a woman walked into the room carrying a stack of papers. "These just came through the fax machine for you." She said before setting them down and leaving. The lady picked them up and flipped through them. Finally she gave in. In twenty minutes I had a class schedule and an apology from her. I smirked and thence walked out into the front office. Everyone else had taken off in Jinxx's car except for Cc and Ashley. Cc was playing on his phone and Ashley was flirting with a blonde that had come into the office. I shook my head and walked up to them just in time to hear the girl ask for his number. "Purdy." I said. He looked at me an I shook my head. "That is jailbait Ash. I would prefer you not end up in jail for dating someone at my school." I said. The girl looked at me distainfully before grabbing Ashley's arm and trying to get his attention back. "Yeah I guess your right little Hime." He said with a smirk. He turned to the girl. "Give me a call when you turn eighteen though." He said before walkin over to me and throwing an arm over my shoulder. This action got him dirty looks from both Sammi and Jinxx. I sighed and moved out from under his arm. "You do realize that technically I'm little Doll now right?" I told him. He grinned mischievously. "Ah but I know what Hime means so technically you are and always will be our little Hime." He said which earned puzzled looks from Sammi Jinxx and Cc. "It translates to princess." He told them with a laugh and I rolled my eyes. I finally got them to leave and walked to class. It was now third period because we spent so long in the office. I walked into the art classroom and every body looked up from around their easels. I walked over to the teacher and handed her my schedule. She nodded and looked at the class. "Alright guys. We have a new student. Tora Doll. Okay Tora just pick and empty easel and start painting the fruit in the middle." She said. I did as she said and noticed that nobody really payed any attention to me. I was entirely okay with this and that's basically how it went in all of my classes. Nobody really noticed me or cared that I was there. I was basically invisible. I liked it. And then everything went wrong. The last bell rang and I was walking out to Sammi's car. And I was stopped by somebody yanking me back by the back of my leather jacket. I saw the girl I had to get Ashley walk away from earlier and then her fist hit my face. Shit. I hastily retreated into my shell as she landed another hit. "Fucking bitch. Who the hell are you to take a fucking guy from me. Your just another emo faggot." She said hitting me with every sentence. She kicked me kicked me in the stomach sending me falling backwards. She walked up and kicked me in the head. "Come on bitch. Do something." She screamed. She was getting angry from my lack of reaction. I just layed there in my shell doing nothing. Suddenly others were screaming my name. The girl was pushed back and jinx was over me shaking me. I looked at him but if I came out of the shell then the anger would spark and I would hurt them so I just laid there. Sammi and Jinxx were both shaking me trying to get me to react but I couldn't. If I did anything at this point I would break. Soon Jinxx lifted me into his arms and laid me in the backseat. I was on someone's lap. It was Ashley. He brushed the hair out of my face. "Tora. Babe come on. Say something please." He said and then he pulled my phone out of my pocket. He dialed a number and put it on speakerphone. Soon Christi answered. Ashley told her what happened. "Shit. Okay don't freak out. If she's not responding its okay. She's in the shell. It's her defense mechanism so that she doesn't break and hurt people. You don't need to try and pull her out. She can hear and understand you but she can't answer or the shell will break. What you need to do is take her to her room lay her down an leave her alone to deal with it. None of you want to be around her when she comes out. Trust me." She explained and they nodded. We reached the house and Ashley carried me in. Everyone looked up and eyes widened at the sight of me being carried. Cc blanched and held a hand over his mouth. Jake and Andy had Ella and Juliet tucked into their chests. Did I really look that bad? Ashley carried me up to my room and set me on the bed before leaving and closing the door. After he left I sat for a moment before letting the shell break and the anger spark. A growl ripped threw my chest and I sat up. I walked into my bathroom shaking and looked in my mirror. My nose was bleeding and I had a black eye. Part of my face was swollen from where she kicked me and when I pulled up my shirt there was bruising over my torso. I let out a scream of rage before punching the wall in my bathroom. I left a hole and then I quickly scrambled to find my razor. When I found it I ran lines across my wrist watching the blood flow. The calm from the pain settled over me and I breathed before stripping quickly and getting into the shower. I watched the water wash the blood from my body and then starts washin my hair. When I washed my body I had to be carefull. That chick had managed to leave some serious bruising on me. I heard the door open and someone sat down. I heard Sammi speak. "Are you alright?" She asked with tears in her voice. "Yeah Sammi. I'm fine. Jut some bruising and a bloody nose." I said downplaying it as best as I could. "Are you sure?" She asked. I stood in the pounding water and reassured her until she finally left to go talk to everyone else. I got out and looked at myself in the mirror. The bruises were darkening quickly and they were on almost my entire upper body. I was sure that I had at least two broken ribs. I dried off and slid into some sports shorts and a baggy sweatshirt before walking slowly downstairs. Everyone was sitting there waiting for me. Jinxx got up and looked at my face before pulling me into a tight hug that unfortunately had me gasping and black spots dancing in front of my eyes. When I gasped Jinxx let go and I fell to the floor clutching my side. He stood over me worried and I tried to wave him off but then Ashley came over and pulled the bottom of my shirt up to look at my torso. I was in no position to stop him. When he saw the still darkening bruises he gasped. After that everything past in a blur of Jinxx forcing me into the car and making me go to the hospital to have my ribs taped up. Luckily they didn't make me take my shirt off just lift it up. After we got home Sammi wouldn't stop babying me. They didn't let me go to school the next day and Sammi barely let me move around. Finally I convinced her I was fine and they let me go to school. The rest of the week passed with me going to school and being ignored and then coming home. Sammi let me drive her car because I was worried my baby would get messed up. Friday afternoon rolled around and when I got home I saw everyone sitting around sadly. When I asked what was wrong they told me that Juliet had to leave Sunday to go on tour with automatic love letter and Ella was leaving to go back to England. After processing this I jumped up and pulled everyone off the couch. "Everybody up. Go to your rooms and back a bag. No arguing. Go now. I mean it." I said. They all gave me weird looks but soon listened and went to pack bags. I ran up to my room and packed bag with some long sleeved shirts and shorts and pjs. I went into my closet and pulled out four heavy duffel bags and walked downstairs. Everybody was waiting for me with their own bags. I walked silently out to Sammi's car and put my stuff in the trunk. I told everybody to pick a car. Half went in Jinxx's and the other half got into Sammi's. when Jinxx asked me what we were doing I waved him off and told him to get in the other car and follow me. I pulled out of the drive an made sure Jinxx was following me before taking off. It took an hour to get where I was going but we soon made it to a forest. I pulled off and parked the car in the cover of the trees and made everybody get out and grab a bag before following me. Ashley and I carried the heavy duffel bags. I led all of them into the forest nod we walked for about fifteen minutes before stopping in a large clearing. I dropped my stuff and turned to face everyone. They were looking at me like I had gone crazy. "We are doing a family camping trip. And no this is not up for negotiation. We are going to spend this weekend havin fun together before Juliet and Ella have to leave." I told them. After protesting and realizing I wasn't going to let them out of this they finally agreed. I picked up one of the heavy duffel bags and pulled out these stuff for a large three comportment tent. I made Ashley help me set it up and soon we had two large tents. When Ashley reached for the other two duffel bags I pulled them away and put them in the compartment I was sleeping in. Jinxx and Sammi were sharing a compartment as were Juliet and Andy and Jake and Ella. They were all stayin in what was dubbed the couples tent. While Cc Ashley and I were each getting our own compartment in the other tent. I was staying in the middle compartment between the guys. When we got done settin tents up I ran back to the car and came back with four large bags. I handed everyone sleeping bags and then put the last large bag in my compartment next to the other duffel bags. I made Ashley and Cc go collect wood while I helped Jinxx figure out how to make a fire pit. When I deemed that they had collected enough wood I helped them stack the wood properly and then went and got an armful of pine straw and a few pine cones. I put the straw in the center of the stack of wood and then asked Andy for his lighter. He handed it over and I lit the pine comes on fire before shoving them under the wood and into the straw. Soon we had a large bonfire going. When they asked me what we were going to be eating I went and grabbed the large bag. I pulled out packs of hotdogs and buns along with chips and stuff to make s'mores with. After everyone ate we just sat around talking. It was going really good and then Ashley opened his mouth and asked a question that made me face palm. "Hey Tora. If your part dragon shouldn't you have been able to start the fire without a lighter?" I shook my head and growled lightly. "You are such an idiot Purdy. I already explained that I'm part ice dragon. Therefore I deal with cold not heat." I said. "Really?" He asked. I sighed before looking up at the fire. I knew there was no getting out of this so I concentrated on letting a small portion of my beast out. I heard Ashley breathe in in surprise next to me. I concentrated and a sudden chill fell over the camp covering everything in a fine layer of frost. I looked at Ashley who was starting to shiver as he was the closest to me. "Yes really." I said. I finally let the energy go and the temperature returned to normal. After a moment of awkward silence the guys started saying how awesome that was. I rolled my eyes. After a while I got up and pulled out the two heavy duffel bags. "So who ready to party?" I asked pulling a bottle out of one of the bags. After that things got interesting. Soon enough all of the guys were trashed and the girls were getting tipsy. I stayed sober and watched everything. After awhile everyone went to bed but I stayed up and watched the moon. The next day the guys woke up with hangovers causing me to have to be a bitch to Ashley and Cc. They woke up but immediately tried to go back to sleep. I immediately started making as much noise as I could in our tent. After a minute they both walked into my compartment and put hands over my mouth and pulled me down to the floor of the tent where they death gripped me and went back to sleep. I tried everything short of using dragon strength to get out but they wouldn't let me go. There was only one thin left to do and I really hated having to resort to this. I started whining and wiggling trying to get them to wake up an realize something was wrong. But unfortunately they grabbed me tighter causing a real problem. I cried out in pain and tried to get out. They pulled me tighter. By now I was practically screaming. "Sammi. Sammi please get them off. Sammi please my ribs. Sammi!" I yelled. I couldn't hold it much longer. The pain they were causing to my ribs was getting bad. Sammi pulled open the flap of the tent to find me trying to keep my cool stuck between a sleepin Ashley and Cc. My eyes had narrowed into vertical dragon slits and I was growling. An then Jinxx was there. He took one look at my face and his eyes widened. "Shit!" He said and then he was trying to wake Cc and Ashley up. He managed to wake Cc up and by then I was growling and shaking. Both Cc and Jinxx pulled Ashley off of me. "What the fuck guys?" Ashley said waking up. He looked at my face and his eyes widened before he started apologizing and then he tried to touch me. I growled and the temperature in the tent plummeted. "Please get away from me." I growled they all left the tent and something between a growl and a scream tore from me. I quickly went through my bag and pulled out a razor. I hastily ran lines across my arms until the rage subsided. I breathed in relief and then changed into a pair of shorts an a long sleeved shirt. I walked out of the tent and smiled reassuring everyone that I was okay. Ashley went for a walk and when he came back he had a ridiculous smile on his face. He made all of us follow him until we came upon a really pretty spring fed lake. Everybody automatically jumped into the water except for me. I sat on the shore and watched everyone play. And then Cc ran up to me and grabbed me around the waist. He threw me over his shoulder and started running towards the water. I freaked out. I started screaming for him to put me down but he thought I was playing. The only thing I was terrified of was water. I had never learned how to swim and for some reason water just terrified me. Before I knew what was happening I was thrown into the water. I tried to paddle for the surface and just barely for my head above water before I was underwater flailing again. I was panicking and tried to breath only to get a lungful of water. Everything started to go black and I started to fall to the bottom of the lake. The last thing I saw was someone swimming for me before everything went black and I felt my heart stop.
