Andrew of Lea

The minstrels began to play a new song and it was a big and lively dance. All the guests grabbed hands and made dancing circles and chains. The king and queen watched the merriment take place with smiles on their faces.
Princess Emberlyn danced with a few girls in a circle. A couple of daughters of the servants and a couple of princesses. Andy stayed in his corner and watched her with a gentle smile. He loved watching her dance. He loved how she swirled around in her long beautiful gowns.
He then spied Prince Peter eyeing her as he danced in a chain. A gentleman nearby waltzed over to the circle dancers and gently took the princess's hand. She smiled at him and held his hand as he joined them.
Just then, Andy saw Prince Peter dancing closer to the circle and stuck his foot from behind the man's shin, causing him to fall down backwards. The girls stopped dancing and two of them helped him up. Prince Peter continued with the chain, secretly smirking.
Andy narrowed his eyes at him. Jealous fool, he thought bitterly. Knocking down a man just because he was dancing with Princess Emberlyn.
The girls began to dance in the circle again and Princess Emberlyn saw Andy. She saw that he was alone. She didn't want him to be alone. She decided to act.
When the minstrels started on another song, the princess led the circle. The circle dancers come closer to Andy's corner. In a instant, she reached out and grabbed his hand. She pulled him to the circle and brought him next to her. She had him move along with her in the dance. Andy's reluctance to dance began to show and he saw Prince Peter giving him the evil eye.
To avoid any fight with the prince, he stopped dancing and lets go of Princess Emberlyn's hand, "I'm sorry. I have to go."
He quickly left the circle and walked off. Princess Emberlyn watched him go with worried and slightly hurt eyes and stopped dancing. Prince Peter also saw him go and sees an opportunity to ask the princess to dance. He quickly lets go of the chain dancers to go over to the princess.
Princess Emberlyn was too distracted to even notice the prince coming towards her. Her only concern was to find where Andy run off to. She scanned the room and spotted him going out outside. She quickly left the room just as Prince Peter came close.
King Jareth and Queen Josla saw her rush outside and both wondered what was wrong. King Jareth took particular notice on how she ran out when the prince came close and Queen Josla made note of also seeing Sir Andrew leaving the ballroom and her daughter chasing after him.
