Nonstop To Nowhere - Fallen Angel (Tome I)

Once calmed, Skylar had a good bath to relax. This meeting was rich in emotion and she realized that she had missing him more than she had imagined. But what irritated her the most was the fact that Andy was right saying that she had seized the first "valid" opportunity to leave him because she was afraid to live again a story like the one with Mike.

Her mind then deviated on the latter and once out of the bathroom, dressed in a simple white bathrobe, she took her phone and dialed Mike's number. She needed to talk to him, to know how he was going, because even though he had been a perfect asshole with her, she cared for him and worried about him.

They discussed their respective problems and briefly discussed their past together for a good hour. Once their exchange ended, Skylar got dressed and connected to the hotel's internet network. She booked a ticket for Miami. She had decided to leave instead, because for her, that traveling was nothing but a trap set by her friends and Andy.

Skylar had landed for 5 minutes and walked towards the parking lot where a taxi was waiting for her. Faith installed, she took the opportunity to turn on her phone and found without surprises the many missed calls by Jenny and Cassie, but also Andy. She hadn't wanted to warn them for the simple reason that she wanted to be away from them for a few days.

Once at her destination, she paid the driver who helped her get out her luggage from the trunk and rushed into the hall of her building. She took a deep breath before getting in and once in she found Mike sitting on the couch playing some notes on the guitar. It had been ages since she had seen him play and she smiled at this scene. This reminded her of good times, when Mike and his friends spent a few hours rehearsing and chatting while playing. At that time, he was the perfect boyfriend and fiancé. The dancer approached the guitarist and sat next to him.

- Skylar! Mike smiles when he sees the dancer. You came back earlier than expected?
- Yes, after what I told you on the phone, I didn't want to stay longer.
- I'm sorry that it went wrong.
- Me too ... Sighed the dancer before taking her suitcases and put them on her bed to empty them.

Two days had passed since she left L.A, and Jenny and Cassie, accompanied by Andy, had just lander in Miami, worried of having no news from Skylar. All the three of them had suspected that Skylar had come home and had fled the problem rather than face it.

- We'll let you go to the apartment and talk to her, we'll go back to Cassie's house. Jenny said to the singer who seemed to be the most worried of the three.
- Ok ... He sighed while climbing into a taxi. I'll let you know how it's going.
- No problem. Replied to the two friends.

On the side of Mike and Skylar, everything seemed to be going well, they got along rather well despite the fact that the dancer didn't feel fully comfortable with him. She also tried somehow not to fall back in love of the musician, but in vain. He had really changed and was starting to be the Mike she had once known.

Both of them were in great discussion when the latter, stopped in the middle of his sentence, sighed and looked Skylar right in the eyes.

- I'm really sorry for all the hurts I've done to you. I...

Mike was cut by someone who knocked on the door. Skylar got ready to get up, but was outdone by her husband. The latter opened the door and came face to face with the singer, with a worried looked and a bouquet of roses in his hand.

- Andy! It's a pleasure to meet you, but you bother us actually. Mike said with a mean smile on his face.
- Who are you? Asked Andy surprised.
- My name is Mike Borzov and I am Skylar's husband.
- What ...?
- Andy? What are you doing here ? Skylar asked angrily to see him here.
- What's this asshole doing in your appartement after what he's done ...

Andy didn't have time to finish his sentence that Skylar gave him a slap that echoed throughout the corridor.

- Don't treat him as an asshole while you're one yourself. You don't know anything about him so I forbid you to talk about him like that! She said excited and insisting on the word "forbid".
- Sky ...
- Go away ! I don't want to see any of you, neither you, nor the girls!

The singer opened his mouth to speak, but Skylar slammed the door in his face. Tears of sadness and anger slid down her cheeks. Mike watched her intently. He wanted to take her in his arms, but she wasn't ready for any physical contact with him, so he whispered a weak "sorry" and went to the terrace.

Skylar, as for her, crashed on the couch crying. Torn between two men. Two men who she was in love with. She hated herself for that. How could she love two men at the same time, who moreover, had disappointed her?

- You want something to drink ? Mike ventured to ask.
- No thanks. I'm just going to rest.

The dancer then joined her room and rushed immediately under the comforters, tears still slipping on her face. She finally closed her eyes a few minutes later plunging into a deep sleep, shameful, but in love.

As for Andy, his heart was tied as he goes to the direction of Cassie's apartment. He blamed himself for being so tough with her at the restaurant and was convinced that it was his fault if Skylar had gone back to Miami.

However, there was one thing that bother and hurt him even more. It was the fact that Mike as introduce himself as Skylar's husband. Never she had told him that she was married to this jerk. He thought that Mike as introduce himself like that such just to annoy him. He was also surprised that he knew who he was when they had barely met at the Baja Sharkeez.

Once at Cassie's apartment, the two young women asked him how his visit had gone.

- Not good at all, I had been greeted by her asshole ex who's introduce himself as her husband, and receive a slap from Skylar because I treated Mike an asshole ! And why this asshole introduce himself as her husband anyway!? He shouted.
- Oh hey, calm down, inspire, expire. Said Cassie.
- Regarding the fact that he introduced himself as her husband, um ... Well, the answer is in there. Jenny added, handing her an envelope.
- What is it ?
- Look at it yourself ...

He took out the envelope and unfolded it. The surprise was readable on his face. Indeed, he took out a marriage certificate in the name of Skylar Grange followed by a letter which explain that her wedding with Mike Borzov had been granted by the United State of America.

The singer stood silent a few moments in the middle of the living room, then his face hardened with pain and anger. How could she have been married to this jerk while he was beating her? How could she hide such a thing from him?

She pitch a fit because he had failed to tell her about his job, but what she had hidden from him was much worse. He felt betrayed. Could she have expert to omit such a thing to makes him feel what she had felt the day she had discovered who he really was ?
