Picture Perfect?

A / N : Sorry I didn't get this up last night ! We had a bunch of thunderstorms , and my power kept going off and on .

ASHLEY'S POV :

As I attempt to catch my breath , Dev's head stirs against my chest , and she mumbles , "Dear Lord , I'm officially Jello !"
"Yeah , I'm pretty much there myself ." , I say . "Apparently we're a little out of practice here ."
"Babe , we never went this long without sex when you were on tour , so , yeah !" , she giggles .
We lie here for a few minutes , until Liam lets us know that he's awake . I throw on some pajama pants , go get him from his crib , and bring him in here to Dev . She feeds him , and we all cuddle up on the bed for a bit .
As we do , I look at her and say , "Darlin' , I got another one of those weird packages again ."
"Damn ! What I'd like to know is how these so - called 'fans' even got our address ! What did this one want ?"
"Oh , just the usual , for me to leave you and run off with her , because she's 'the one' , that kind of shit ." , I tell her .
"Well , I'll tell you right now , if any of them are ever actually stupid enough to show up and present that idea in person , I'm gonna beat them down with a frickin' tripod !" , she informs me .
"Actually , I was thinking about that ." , I say . "There's an idea I've been rolling around in my brain for a little while now , but I've been sorta hesitating to bring it up , because I'm not entirely sure you'll like it ."
"Ash , you know you can tell me anything ." , she says . "Whatever it is , I'm sure we can come up with something that works ."
"Well , I've kinda been thinking that maybe we should ..."
"We should what , babe ?"
"Maybe we should move ." , I finally say . "And I don't just mean to a different house . I mean away from Vegas ."
She just looks at me for a minute , and then says , "So , you're saying that you want to move back to LA , then ."
"No , not exactly , Dev ."
"Then what did you have in mind ?" , she inquires .
"I was sort of thinking about Nashville ." , I say . "There's obviously a big music scene there , and I shouldn't have any problem keeping things going with the line if I move the headquarters there . And you might be able to find a whole new client base for your business , too ."
" So what the heck made you start thinking about this ?" , she asks .
"I've been there several times , when the band was touring , and I went a couple of times on my own before we got together , for festivals and that sort of thing ." , I reply . "It's a nice place , there's plenty of things to do there , and it's a bit more ... , child - friendly than Vegas , I guess you'd say ."
"And it's closer to both of our families ." , she says thoughtfully . "I know Mom and Dad would love that , they could see Sprout a little more frequently . And I'm pretty sure your family would like that , too ."
"So does that mean you don't hate the idea ?" , I ask hopefully .
"No , I don't HATE it , but I'm not saying yes just yet , either ." , she answers . "I'd kind of like to actually see the place for myself before I commit to anything . Plus , I'd have to make arrangements for my studio , like finding someone to take over my lease , and making sure Mindy has plenty of time to find another job if she doesn't want to relocate ."
"That's totally reasonable , love , I understand completely ." , I say . Honestly , I'm just relieved that she didn't totally shoot down the idea . "Why don't we figure out a time to go spend a few days there , so you can check everything out , and we can look into the housing situation if you DO like it ."
"Yeah , that sounds like a plan ." , she says , as she gets out of bed and takes Liam back to the nursery . She puts him down , then comes back and crawls into bed with me , pillowing her head on my chest as usual .
"Be totally honest with me , darlin' ." , I say . "You're not just going along with this because I want to do it , are you ?"
"I'm not 'going along' with anything yet ." , she answers . "I'm willing to check it out , and I do like the idea of being closer to our folks , but I'll definitely let you know if I hate it . But whether it's Nashville or not , I do agree that we need to find another place , since the fans know about this one . You and I are capable of looking out for ourselves , but hell will freeze over before I'll take a chance on some whack - a - doodle getting anywhere near Liam ."
"I agree 200% ," , I say . "That little guy has to be our first priority , before the band , your job , my line , everything . We need to do everything we can to make sure he's safe . I mean , I love this house , we've got a lot of great memories here , but maybe Las Vegas isn't the best place for us to try to raise a kid ."
"You're probably right , and we've got plenty of pictures , so we don't forget about this place , but we can always make new memories . It doesn't really matter where we are , as long as we're there together ." , she says , with a yawn .
"I think we should try to get some sleep ." , I say . "You know that the little dude is gonna be up at least once more before morning , so we need to grab some zzz's before that happens . In the morning , after breakfast , we can check our schedules and figure out when we can make the trip to Tennessee ."
I wait for a response , and realize that she's already asleep . I chuckle , and say , "Goodnight , love . We can talk about it in the morning ." , before I drop off to sleep myself .
