Picture Perfect?

DEVLIN'S POV :

"You know , guys , as much as I love you , this just isn't quite the same ." , I inform the two balls of fluff who have decided to appropriate the empty side of the bed .
"Yip !" , Tokyo responds , as Killer takes this as an invitation to wash my ear with his tongue .
I get out of bed and scoop up a dog in each arm , carrying them to the kitchen , where I open the door and let them out into the backyard . As they're doing their morning business , I put food in their bowls , then wash my hands and grab an English muffin and a packet of insta - bacon . I stick the muffin in the toaster , then put several slices of bacon on a paper towel and pop it in the microwave .
As I'm waiting for breakfast to get done , my phone rings . I check the display , and answer before the second ring finishes . "Good morning , babe ! You're up early !"
"You have no idea ! We had a phone interview with one of the European magazines , and since there's such a time difference , we've been up since 4 AM ." , he yawns . " I waited as long as I could stand to call you , since I didn't figure you'd care for me waking you up at the ass - crack of dawn ."
"Ash , I will talk to you at any time ." , I inform him as I let the dogs back in , then start trying to assemble my sandwich one - handed . "I miss you so much it hurts , and I would never pass up any chance to hear your voice . After all , you've been gone for two weeks ."
"Is that all ? It feels like it's been longer than that ." , he says . "You know I love what I do , darlin' , and it's always great to see the fans' reactions , but now I understand how the other guys feel about leaving their chicks at home . It kinda makes me feel bad about giving them so much shit ."
"Well , we just have to remember that I'm coming out to spend some time with you at the end of the month , and then you get some free time over the holidays , and we'll be together then . Until then , I guess we'll have to make an effort to break Skype or something ."
"And maybe , since I get a hotel room to myself tonight , we can have some world - class computer sex . Unless you're not up for that sort of thing ."
"What time should I expect your call ?" , I inquire . "And what would you like me to wear ?"
"As little as possible ! Dev , do you have any idea how much I miss you ? Even my tiny little bunk on the bus seems too big , since I'm in it alone . I can't wait to see you , even over a computer screen ."
"Well then , as much as I'm enjoying this conversation , I suggest you go grab a bit more sleep . You DO have a show tonight , and I think it might be disappointing for both of us if you can't stay awake afterwards ." , I point out .
"Yeah , I guess you're right ." , he sighs . "And I suppose I should let you get ready for work . Goodbye , darlin' , I'll see you tonight at 10:00 . I love you , Dev ."
I love you , too , babe . Have a great show tonight ." , I say , then end the call and promptly burst into tears .
This is DEFINITELY taking some getting used to ! I've always been a reasonably independent person , and I'm usually OK with being by myself , but right now it sucks ! We had a week in the Bahamas , and then two weeks at home before he had to leave , and after being together almost constantly for the last six months , I hate going to bed by myself every night . At least tonight I'll get to see him , even if it is only on a computer screen .
I finally manage to pull myself together , finish my now - tepid breakfast , and get myself ready for work , knowing that I have something to look forward to tonight .

ASHLEY'S POV :

I hang up my phone and sigh , then get off the couch and get ready to head to my bunk , when the guys get back on the bus . We stopped for gas , and they decided to go grab snacks and stuff .
"Hey , Ash , since we're gonna have a day off tomorrow , do you wanna go out and have some drinks tonight ?" , CC asks , as he flings himself on the couch .
"How are you even fucking awake ?" , I asked him . "Jon dragged our asses out of bed at 0'dark what - the - fuck this morning , and you're Tigger !"
"Ash , he's ALWAYS Tigger !" , Andy observes . "We get it , dude . You miss Dev , and it's fucking with your mood . Everybody here has been in your place at some point , and it will get a little easier to deal with , even though I can't say that it ever totally goes away ."
"Yeah , I know , but it's so damn weird ! I'm not used to feeling like this , and I'm not quite sure how to handle it .I got used to always having her close to me , and now it's hard as hell to sleep at night ."
"Been there , done that !" , Jake interjects , and the others all nod in agreement .
"At least she's her own boss , man !" , Jinxx chimes in . "So you won't have to worry about whether she can get time off to come see you once in awhile . Remember how that was always a problem with your other girlfriends ?"
I nod , and say , "Yeah , she reminded me that she's coming out in a couple of weeks . I just wish it was sooner ."
"Dude , trust me , we all feel ya !" , CC says . "That's why I thought you might want to go out tonight . Have a few drinks , take your mind off of your troubles , that sort of thing ."
"I tell you what , C . I'll take you up on that , tomorrow . Right now , I need to grab a nap before soundcheck , I have a Skype date with my wife tonight , and I'd like to be awake for it ."
When I say this , Jake jumps up and heads to the back of the bus , where Jon is . He comes back a couple of minutes later and says , "It's OK now , I got Jon to fix things ."
"What 'things' , dude ?" , Jinxx asks him .
"I got him to re - arrange the room assignments tonight , so Ash has the room at the end of the hall , NOT next to anyone else . I heard about how y'all almost got kicked out of your hotel on your honeymoon !"
I shake my head and ask , "Who did you hear that from ?"
"I overheard Dev saying something about it to Inna after you guys got back ."
"Well , apparently she's at least partly to blame , since she chipped in for the striptease lessons they bought for Dev ."
With that , I walk back to my bunk , laughing to myself as they all scramble for their phones to call their respective ladies to find out if they bought any lessons for themselves .
Something tells me that there are gonna be some interesting conversations going on while I'm asleep .
