Soul Mates

Last Concert.

I look at myself in the mirror, I am in the required floor length black dress, and my hair is curled and hanging down my shoulders. Tonight is the final concert that I will be apart of at this high school. I am excited, but upset, I have learned so much here, but I have more to learn at Julliard!
"Allison, it's time to go sweet heart!" my mother yells
I walk downstairs, "Where is Alyssa and dad?"
"They said they would be there before showtime, Alyssa said she needed your fathers help with something, but we must go."
I get in the car with my mother and breath. Every senior, and I, has a solo at some point tonight. I have been working really hard to make sure mine is perfect. My mother pulls up to the school and I hurry inside to do a quick run through with everyone else. The concert doesn't start for another hour. I enter the band room and I feel a sadness overwhelm me, but I push it aside. Time to focus. Time to shine.

I get off the airplane and I start looking for Alyssa. She called me two weeks ago and told me about tonight and that since it is so close to prom I should come support Allison in her last concert. Of course I said yes.
I spot her off in the distance with her father, I quickly run over to them.
"Hello sir, Alyssa, how late are we running?" I ask not wanting to be late
"We are not, but you might want to change before we get there, where are you staying?"
"Um... I was going to find a hotel tonight, if not a friend has a spare bed a few towns over."
"Well let's get going."
I am rushed through the airport, grabbing my things, and following them to their car. We stop at a McDonalds so that I can change into my nice clothes. When we pull up to the school they start running, and I follow. We get to the auditorium and as soon as we find her mother the lights go down.
"That was close." I whisper to Alyssa
"Yea, but no biggy, she will be stocked to see you."
The band comes on and I see her instantly. Shes in the front row, her sister mentioned something about her being first chair, again something big to accomplish against seniors.
The concert goes on and I notice the teacher introducing people and they perform solos.
"What is he doing?" I whisper
"Oh, it's senior night, all the seniors get to perform solos, and since Allison is now technically a senior she performs one tonight too."
Then I see her stand.
"Our last solo of the night is Ms. Allison Wise. She is a junior here, but this will be her final concert as she is graduating early and will be attending Julliard in the fall, full scholarship."
And with that the audience goes silent and I never take my eyes off this amazing girl who continues to amaze me. I see her take a deep breath, and then she begins to play. The soft sound coming from the instrument fills the auditorium and I feel a smile on my face. She plays so beautifully, and I am in awe...

Its over, the concert is over. I hold back tears as I walk off this stage for the final time. I put my violin in it's case and say goodbye to my friends. I go to find my parents. I walk out into the lobby. I see my father and mother by the door, always eager to go home and celebrate in private. But where is Alyssa?
"Surprise!"
I turn and see Alyssa and... ANDY?
"Andy!?!?! Oh my God!"
I hug him so tight. What is he doing here? Did he see the whole concert? I am so excited! I never want to let go.
"Hey cutie." Andy says before kissing my cheek
I see some of my friends turn to look. I will have a lot of questions tomorrow. Just wait until Prom night. I take Andy's hand and we walk out to the car. Alyssa rides with mom and Andy and I with dad.
"What are you doing here? I mean I was not expecting you until early Saturday."
"Your sister thought it would be a good idea if I surprised you for your last concert. I am glad I did, it was beautiful, and your piece had me smiling the whole time."
"Awe, you are cute, thank you."
