Soul Mates
Dinner pt 2
"So Andrew," my father says sipping his coke, "my daughter says you are in a band?"
"Daddy, it's Andy." I correct him
"It's okay Allison, and yes sir, I am the founder of the band Black Veil Brides." Andy informs
"Oh right, my daughter said she met you at the concert she took her sister too. So what do you play?"
"Well I'm the lead singer, but I can play a little guitar."
"And what made you decide to risk everything and form a band?"
I am surprised Andy isn't sweating yet.
"Well my father is into rock music and he plays a lot of Kiss and Motley Crue, and so I grew up around that and loved it so much. I went to Warped a few years ago and that is when I decided that I wanted to have a band of my own."
"What is Warped? Sounds intense."
"It is actually called Warped Tour. It is a big tour where a bunch of bands get together and play all day for people that come."
"And do you live on your own?"
"No, as of right now the band all rents a small two bedroom place in the south side of town."
"Okay."

Allison's father drills me with questions about myself and I am surprised that I haven't been nervous. As long as he doesn't bring up high school it will be all good.
"Here is the food. Can I get you guys anything? Refills?"
The waitress gets everyone refills and no one talks while we eat. After dinner I walk outside with Allison and her father.
"The car is this way." he father says
"Okay let me say bye." Allison says
"Nonsense, I will drive the boy, come on."
So I climb into the backseat of a rental car and give directions to the house. When we get there Alison gets out and walks me to the door.
"You know it's the man's job to walk the lady to the door." I say
"Well I believe in equality. I had a good time today, and I can not wait for prom."
"Me either, what color?"
"I will get the tie, just bring yourself and a black suit."
"I need to know what color to get your flowers."
"White, it will go with anything."
Her father beeps.
"I'll text you."
I hug her and very cautiously kiss her cheek, then she climbs into the car and is gone...
