Lacy came into the room just as Erica woke up. She knew what Erica was feeling. She had been through this. She handed her the glass filled with the blood Andy had taken from the hospital. After she had drained the entire glass she looked up at Lacy and spoke. "What happened? What did you do to me?"

It was Andy who answered from the doorway. "I turned you. You're one of us now. A vampire."
"But why? I thought you were going to kill me." She asked looking up at him from the side of the bed where she sat.
"Because you realize what you did was wrong. Now you have to live with it."
"But I don't deserve to live. Not after what I did." she said as tears sprang into her eyes.

Andy came into the room and kneeled down in front of her. "Do you regret what you did?" She nodded as tears rolled down her face. "Then why did you do it?"
"I don't know. I just wanted to fit in. I didn't mean to hurt anyone, that's why I wanted to call for help. God, I'm a horrible person. Is Skylar going to be ok?" She asked
"Skylar is going to be fine, but she will be in the hospital for a while."

This news made fresh tears pour out. "I'm so sorry." She sobbed as she buried her face in her hands.
Andy sighed. "Erica, this is why I didn't just kill you. I'm giving you an opportunity to make up for what you did. From now own, you're going to help me protect Skylar." He said as he pulled her hands from her face.
"It's not as bad as you think, Erica. Trust me, I know."Lacy said looking down at her.
"What do I have to do?" She asked wiping her eyes.
"First, I need to train you to control your thirst so you don't hurt Skylar when she comes home. Lacy can help you with that as well. Second, Skylar means everything to me. I don't like it when people hurt her. You will help me punish those who do."

He stood up and left the room. Lacy turned to Erica and spoke. "Come on. Let's go."
"Where are we going?" She asked as she stood.
"You're training begins now. We have to see how you react to being around humans."

Lacy led the way to the front door where Andy stood waiting. They made their way outside and into the night. "Keep to the shadows." Andy instructed. "We don't need any unwanted attention." Without making any sound they made their way to the hospital and stood outside Skylar's room window.

Her room was on the sixth floor, but that wasn't going to be a problem for them. Lacy watched as Andy took off his shirt and his wings sprouted out of his back. She had seen him do this the night she had been turned so she had been expecting it. Erica, however, made a small gasping noise as his leathery wings made an appearance. "I'm going up to see if she's alone. Stay here." He said as he flew up and hover above them for a moment before flying up.

"Do we have wings too?" Erica asked as she watched him.
"No, only Andy."
"Good, I don't think I would be good at flying."

Lacy chuckled as Andy flew back down to them. He was frowning. "That detective is in there again." He said as he landed. "You two go back to the apartment."
"Where are you going?" Lacy asked. She knew he was up to something.
"I'm going to take care of some business." He said. And he took off into the night.

Lacy turned and began making her way back to the apartment. Erica followed. "Are we just going to let him go alone?" She asked as she fell into step beside Lacy.
"Andy will be fine. Trust me." she answered.
Erica nodded. "So, what do we do now?"
"Exactly what he told us to. We go back to the apartment and wait."

They walked the rest of the way back in silence. Lacy knew this was a lot for Erica to take in at once. Her mind was probably racing. Lacy was lost in her own thoughts. There were now three of them. This town had no idea it had three vampires right under it's nose. Things were about to get a lot more interesting around here.
