My Perfect Weapon

Chapter 25: If You Play with Fire

Lacy set in the waiting room of the hospital. They had brought Skylar in an hour ago. If Andy hadn't been connected to her thoughts, Skylar probably would have never been found in time. He was beyond pissed and couldn't wait to get his hands on the ones who did this.

Just then the doctor came in. "How is she?" Lacy asked as she jumped up.
"Luckily, she doesn't have any head injuries. She did a good job of protecting her head, but other parts not so much. She has four broken ribs and her spleen was ruptured. She's lucky she didn't bleed to death. Her spine was fractured, but not severely. She'll have to stay here a few days to recover her strength. She's heavily sedated right now so she doesn't feel the pain. You can go home and rest tonight and come back in the morning."

Lacy found Andy leaning against the building smoking a cigarette. "I just talked to the doctor." She said as she walked up to him.
"Is she going to be ok?" He asked flicking his cigarette into the ash tray.
"She'll be here for a while recovering. They really did a number on her." She said as she felt her eyes turning red.
"Let's go."

They made good time getting to Megan's house. Vampire speed was a definite plus. They could hear all three of them inside laughing. Lacy frowned. So they thought it was funny to almost kill her best friend.
"Are you sure you wanna go through with this?" Andy asked as he turned to her.
"They almost killed Skylar. I'm sure"

They walked to the door and knocked. Alex answered. "Can I help you?" he asked as he looked Andy up and down as if he was some sort of science experiment.
"Your the one who's going to need help." Andy said as he pushed past him.

Erica and Megan looked up from the couch as Lacy came in and shut the door behind her. "Who the hell are you?" Megan asked jumping up.
"Why do they always ask that question?" Andy said looking at Lacy.
"I don't know. I guess, when you're human, it's only natural." She answered.

Megan looked around at Alex and Erica before speaking. "I don't know who you two are, but you need to leave."
"Oh, we'll leave when we're done here. Not that it will do you any good, but I suggest you start running." Andy said as he let his fangs slide down.

Alex ran for the door. "Ah, ah, ah." Lacy said as she blocked his path and let her own fangs slide down. He ran right into her and she held him in place. Across the room Andy held Megan. Erica seemed to be frozen in place, probably from shock.

They placed Megan and Alex down on the couch one either side of Erica. "Now," Andy said as he lit a cigarette. "Whose idea was it to beat the hell out of my angel?"
"Fuck you." Megan sneered.

Andy was on her in seconds. He took his cigarette and pressed it into her eye. She screamed in pain. Alex made a move toward her, but Lacy restarined him.

"It was Megan's." Erica said speaking for the first time. "She said it's what she deserved for killing Amber and Trevor."
"See that wasn't so hard, now was it?" Andy said as he go off of her. "But there's just one problem. Skylar didn't kill them. I did. They hurt my angel. They made her cry and they had to pay for that. Just like you have to pay for what you did."

Andy grabbed Erica by her arm and pulled her off the couch. She didn't even try to fight him. "I'm sorry." She said. "I didn't really want to do it, but I went along anyway. That's not an excuse. I deserve whatever you're gonna do to me."
"Shut up, you stupid bitch!" Megan screamed at her. "You don't know when to keep your mouth shut, do you? God, you're so stupid. You went and called 911 after we told you not to, didn't you? That's how they even found her, isn't? I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. As soon as you started crying and whining about how it was wrong to just leave her there, I should have just beat the hell out of you too."
"Is that true?" Andy asked looking down at her. "Did you wanna get help for her?"
"Yes, it's true." Megan screamed again. "She's so fucking weak."

Andy looked over at Lacy. "Lacy, could you hold her for a second, please?" As soon as Lacy took Erica from him, he went over to Megan and jerked her off the couch. He forced her mouth open and ripped out her tongue. "Now, maybe you will shut the fuck up" he said as he threw her down onto the couch. Blood gushed out everywhere and she lay on the couch whimpering.

Next he turned to Alex. "Lace, are you hungry?"
"Starving." She replied.

Together they both attacked him, draining him dry in minutes. They let him drop to the floor. Surprisingly Erica hadn't moved. She just stood there as if waiting for her judgement. Tears were running down her face, but she didn't try to run as they approached her.

"Why did you want to help her?" Andy asked her
"Because what we did was wrong. I shouldn't have let Megan talk me into it. She was right, I am weak. I should have stood up to her. I deserve whatever you do to me." She said as fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.

Andy looked over at Lacy. She nodded. He had her pinned to the ground within seconds. Using one hand he forced her mouth open as Lacy tilted her head back. "You're not going to like this." He said as he bit into his wrist. He stuck his wrist into her mouth, dripping blood into it. She didn't want to swallow, but Lacy pinched her nose shut and she had no choice. She gagged and coughed when he finally pulled his wrist from her mouth. In one swift move, he snapped her neck.

He got up and went into the garage. He came back into the livingroom with a gas can. As Lacy picked up Erica's body, he went over to Megan, who was surprisingly still alive, and dumped gas on her. She squirmed as she watched him take out another cigarette and light it. He left a trail of gas as they made their way out the front door. Then he turned and flicked the cigarette back into the house. There was a whoosh as the gas ignited.

"Come on, let's get her back to the apartment."
"Why did you decide to turn her, Andy?" Lacy asked as she handed Erica to him.
"Because it's worse for her to live with what she did. Besides, I don't think she's all bad. I think she just made friends with the wrong people."

Lacy could understand that. For some people, living with guilt was worse than dying. And this way, Erica had a chance to make up for what she had done. She knew the fact that she had shown guilt before they had shown up was the only reason Andy had let her live. He couldn't let her go completely because then she would know too much and that was a risk they couldn't take.
