My Perfect Weapon
Chapter 23: Missing.
Detective Jenkins stood in the morgue looking around at the scene before him. The medical examiner had called him half an hour ago telling him one of the bodies was missing. According to him he had been attacked from behind and bitten. He claimed it had been Lacy Johnson, but dead bodies don't just get up and walk around.
He didn't know what was going on. Ever since he had gotten involved with this new case, strange things had been happening. He knew it wasn't Skylar West since she was in custody when Lacy Johnson's body had literally been dumped under their noses, but she had to be connected somehow. He just couldn't figure it out.
He walked out of the building and to his car thinking about his next move. The big question he had was how could a body disappear without anyone noticing anything strange? This case was getting stranger and stranger.
When he got back to his desk, he took out the journal again and reread it. He was now sure the last part of the journal had been written by someone other than Skylar, but who? She had said she had lost the journal over a week ago. That was when all this started. It seemed as if someone had taken it upon themselves to get revenge on anyone who bullied Skylar. The next question would be why?
He sighed. This was getting to be to much to think about right now. He need a good night's sleep and to start fresh in the morning. But he had still had no idea what his next move would be. He could only hope to find another clue before another body turned up.
