A Savior Will Be There

Chapter 8

***
"I have to go. There's something I need to do." Andy said before stomping out of the door.

He was sick and tired of Brandon, Tristen, and Jennifer causing Korey pain. This was going to end, one way or another.

Andy's blood was boiling with anger and rage. Right now, Andy knew exactly were the two guys were and he was going to make them pay. He'd figure something out for Jennifer later.

After walking for a while, he finally found them.

"Hey!" Andy hollered trying to get their attention.

Sure enough, Brandon and Tristen looked over and saw Andy shooting daggers with his eyes.

"What do you want, Pipsqueak. Here to avenge the blob of nothingness?" Brandon interrogated.

Tristen was laughing in amusement while Andy's fist got tighter.

"Kid, just think for a second. Is that little fag even worth your time? Is she even worth your anger against us. I mean, frankly we couldn't care less if she dies. We'd be better off anyway." Tristen said.

That just triggered Andy into jabbing his fist into Tristen's stomach. Once he was on the ground,
Andy got down to Tristen's level and threw punches to his face one after another.

Then Brandon grabbed Andy and gave him a busted lip. That really didn't come close to stopping Andy in any way at all. He ended up giving Brandon the same face bruises to match Tristen.

"You SOB's have no right to say that about Korey!" Andy's voice boomed through the hallway.

Andy threw a few last punches then stood up before he got too out of hand.
He was towering above Brandon with a food glare in his eyes.

"Don't you ever lay a single finger on Korey again, or else you'll know what to expect. Am I clear?" Andy inquired. The two nodded in slight fear of Andy and got up and ran away.

Andy stood there and felt a liquid coming from his lip. He took his hand and lifted it up to his mouth and winced slightly. Well he wiped what blood he could off with his sleeve before he went back to the nurse to check on Korey.

///

Andy walked into the office and found Korey, Miss Hill and Nurse Tracey in there. He looked at a random clock and saw that school had already ended. After realizing this, Andy looked back at Korey who had a spark of worry in her eyes.

"Andy! What happened to you!" Miss Hill exclaimed grabbing the first aid kit again.

"Oh, I just ran into a locker door on my little walk. No big deal." He lied.
He saw Korey lift a brow in disbelief but he just ignored it.

"How are you, Korey?" Andy asked. She just shrugged.

"I'm alright now." She replied.

"Why are you still here, Korey? I thought you would've been home by now." Andy said while Miss Hill was taking care of his lip.

"I was waiting for you." Korey replied simply.

///***

After Andy got his lip taken care of, Korey walked with him outside.

"Hey, do you need a ride home Korey?" She heard Andy ask.

"Uh... no thanks." Korey asked looking down. She was still a little shaken up by the days events.

Then Korey felt a hand on her upper arm. She turned around to face Andy.

"Something has been bothering you all day. You hardly talked to anyone, you weren't at lunch, what's wrong?" Andy asked concerned.

"Nothing. Don't worry about it." Korey said.

She hated talking about her mom's death, so Korey tends to avoid it as much as she possibly can.

"I have to go, I'll see you tomorrow." Korey said while trying to walk away, but Andy still had a firm grip.

"Please let me go, Andy. I need to get home." She pleaded looking down at the sidewalk. Andy still didn't let go. Instead, he gently wrapped his arms around her.

"Korey, you're one of my best friends. I care for you too much to let anything happen to you." Andy whispered in Korey's ear. With that, he let go of her.

"I'll see you tomorrow." He said as he walks off to his car, leaving Korey alone on the sidewalk.

///

When Korey finally came home, she found Jason still wasn't there. So she just headed upstairs and took the drawing of Naomi and taped it to a wall in her room.

"I love you, Mom. I miss you so much."

Korey sat down with her back against the bed and sobbed.

"Korey!!!"

It was her uncle calling Korey. She hurried back downstairs wiping the tears from her eyes.

"Yes sir?"

"Your teacher called. She said you were bullied at school." He slurred. Drunk again.

"Yes sir." Korey said, not sure were this is going.

"You are so weak. Can you defend yourself? No because you can do nothing right." Jason
raised his voice.

"U-uncle Jason, a-are you okay?" Korey asked a little intimidated.

"Am I okay?!? I have a weak, good for nothing, dumbass of a niece, who can't do anything right!!!" Jason yelled through the house.

"I bet if Naomi was alive right now, she'd wish she were dead if she had seen what worthless girl you had become!" He screamed, slapping Korey hard in the face.

Korey tasted more blood in her mouth as she began to be afraid of her uncle. Suddenly, Jason threw an empty liquor bottle at Korey, hitting her head.

Korey felt a bit of liquid run from her head down her face as she retreated to her room and locked the door.

"I'm going back to the bar little witch." Jason said before walking out of the house, slamming the door.

Korey was lucky that somehow the cut on her head wasn't severe. But Korey wished it was.
She remembered almost not being able to survive last year's anniversary. But this year, well, this year Korey is contemplating even thinking of living.

Korey went over to her dresser drawer to grab the blade and stuffed it in her pocket. Then she
traveled downstairs to her uncle's medicine cabinet. Korey grabbed a bottle of anti depressant pills and Viciden. And off to the kitchen to grab a rather large bottle of whiskey. Korey went back upstairs to grab her phone right quick then went out of the door.

///

Korey was drinking the whiskey as she was walking to her destination. Which was a cliff that dropped of to the ocean.

Korey took the items from home, sitting cross legged close to the edge, and she laid the pill bottles, the blade, and the half empty whiskey bottle on the ground.

"Should I drink, drug, or cut myself to death." She drunkley thought aloud. "Well, maybe I should just jump." Korey said looking out into the ocean.

Then she laughed as she drank a little more.

"Ooooh. Maybe I can ask someone. Man, i wish I had Jennifer's number." She giggled pulling out her phone.

"I wonder..." hiccup. "I wonder if Andy can give me an idea."
Korey laughed a little more.

"Only one way to find out."
