Angel from hell

After school, Athena WAS at the oak tree. I smiled. We started to walk home. I know it's only been three days but, I missed this. I missed walking home with her and talking about occasional crushes, or teachers that we hated. But this time, it was all about Andy.

"He thinks you don't like to be around him?" She sounded very confused.

"Well, I guess not anymore. We talked late last night. When I get home I'll call him." I said maybe in my mind but not out loud.

The rest of the walk to her house was silent. She lived down the street from me, so I had to walk alone a little ways. Entering my house, I sighed. I heard faint crying from the kitchen. I slowly walked to the kitchen to see my mom washing the dishes. I went to the island and set my book bag down in a chair and went to the sink to help her.

"Hey, hunny. How was your day?" She said, sniffles in between her words.

"It was fine." I didn't tell you guys, but I told my mom about Andy. She even told my dad. But, I think he's trying to seem nice now and beat my mom behind my back so I won't call the cops again. Nice try, Kevin!(my dad) you're not getting away with what you've done.

I picked up a slightly dirty plate and began to rinse it off.

"Mom. I saw.... I saw... Dad beating you yesterday. And this morning, well I saw you on the floor unconscious."

"Baby, please don't worry. The night you called the cops, well hunny that wasn't a good idea."

"Mom. You need help. I need help. Dad needs help . We all need help!" I started to raise my voice. She dropped the plate she was washing.

"Please!" She shouted. She looked... Angry. I put the dish back down in the sink that I was working on washing and walked to the island to grab my book bag then ran up stairs to my room.

I slammed my bag onto my bed. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and texted Andy.

"I need you the fuck here, right now!" Then I threw my phone on my bed and backed up to the wall, then slid all the way down to the floor, and just sat there.
