Angel from hell

Hours went by. No call. No text. I couldn't sleep that night. It was about 12:30am. I was staring up at the ceiling of my sad, depressing room. And I heard it. My phone went off. I panicked at first. It was loud and it startled me.

I shook as I picked my phone up. Seeing the contact Andy and the message under his name. I clicked on it and read it, my eyes tearing.

"I worry about you, Trevor. But you said it yourself. I can't help you. What am I supposed to think. How you ran out the other day at the restaurant!" I sighed and began to text back. I knew it was too good to be true.

"I ran out because I felt like I was in the fucking way! You weren't even talking to me, just stared at me. With sympathy in your eyes. You don't want to be my friend. You only invited me so my dad wouldn't hurt me that night."

About 5 minutes went by and he actually texted back.

"BULLSHIT! Yes I did invite you so you didn't have to go home to that douche! But if you weren't my friend I wouldn't really care."
i left it at that. Maybe I'll call him tomorrow? I need to get things straight with Athena though. After school. Yeah I'll call him after school for sure.... Maybe..... Idk.

Why is this so complicated....

I barely slept that night, but woke up anyway and took a shower and did my regular morning routine.

I plugged my earbuds into my phone and this time putting on black veil brides. I ran downstairs, this time my mom and dad hearing me. I reached the end of the stairs to see my mom on the floor, she looked unconscious, and my dad just casually sitting on the couch.

I wanted to help her so bad. But just kept walking to the front door. I sighed as I exited the house and began to walk to school, listening to my favorite album by Black Veil Brides, Wretched and Divine.

I entered the big school doors, and AGAIN saw Athena in the same place as the past few times. I sighed and walked over to her, ready to actually talk to her.

"Athena. What going on." I said when I reached her. She looked at me with tears in her eyes.

"You-you've been h-hiding that you're abused f-from me for 5 fucking y-years?" Her voice was shaking. How did she figure this out. "A-and you told Andy instead of me. Youve only known him for like a week."

"H-how did you figure this out?" A tear escaped my right eye.

"I've been spending this last week trying to figure out why you weren't at school that one day. And why the next day you were covered in bruises and scrapes. I've taken off classes to go to the library and try to find out why. But then, on Monday, while I was walking to the library, I spotted andy's car at the gas station close to the library. He was just about to get in it but I ran to him to say hi. He asked me why I wasn't at school. I told him and he said, " I'm not supposed to tell you this, but... I'm worried about her. Her mother and her are abused by her father." I was shocked Trevor, that you would keep this from me."
all I could think was,"Shit"

"I didn't want you to get the police involved."

"That's exactly what you need to do though!"

"I TRIED. I TOLD ANDY BECAUSE I DIDNT THINK I WAS GOING TO MEET HIM EVER AGAIN. IM SORRY!!! HE TOLD ME TO CALL THE COPS AND I DID, AND GUESS WHAT? THE COPS DIDNT BELIEVE ME."

athena gave me a tight hug.
"If we're best friends, you need to let me help you." I whispered in a soft, faintly voice "okay"
