Soaring Bird

Rex and Maddox

"Can we take a break and have a serious conversation?" Allen asks Chantel
"Like what?"
"Like finding other band members. I mean I know you said Amelia is handling it, but don't you want to be a part of the process? I mean these people are going to be playing music to songs YOU wrote and you don't even care who they are."
"One, I do care who they are, and I understand I have worked hard on the three songs I have, but it's because I have three songs that I am not super worried. And two, I trust my aunt, she knows what she's doing."
This is not the first time that Allen has brought this up and honestly it was starting to get on Chantel's nerves. She has other things to worry about than Allen not trusting Amelia. It has been a month since that horrid night at Prom and Chantel could not keep up the facade of "we're both just busy with end of the year stuff" to her parents, and on top of that Amy is becoming relentless on them getting off of their break. But every time Chantel goes to send the text of forgiveness her mind goes to that night of Amy not listening or caring about what she had to say and she deletes it and pulls out her pen and paper.
"Hello, earth to Chantel, are you going to answer your phone?" Allen says while waving her phone in her face
She grabs it and puts it to her ear, "hello? Really? Yes of course, we'll be right there," she hangs up the phone and looks at her best friend, "I told you I trust her, let's go!"
She drags her best friend out of the door and into the car. Twenty minutes later they pull up to Screaming Records and rush inside where they are met by Amelia. She leads them down the same hallway she did months ago and they ended up in the same room as before but instead of just the CEO waiting for them, there was two other men seated at the table. One was tall with jet black hair and brown eyes. He had snake bites and a septum piercing and seemed to be a bit older, maybe twenty or twenty-one. The other was about Allen's height with bleach white hair and shocking green eyes. He also had snake bites and a septum piercing but he also had his bridge pierced. He seemed to be around their age, maybe nineteen.
"Chantel, Allen, I would like you to meet Rex," she started introductions and pointed to the tall guy with black hair, "and Maddox" she concluded as her hand moved to gesture towards the guy with white hair.
"Hey guys, great to meet you." Allen eagerly shakes hands, but Chantel knew he had questions.
"Hi." was all she said as she took a seat.
"Let's get down to business." Dean announced.
Everybody took a seat and they had a meeting. Turns out Rex was a kick ass drummer and Maddox knew his way around a bass. They agreed to be a part of the band and their contract were ready to be signed, but before anyone touched a pen, Allen laid out of hardball questions.
"Where are you from? Why join this band? Any felonies?" and on and on and on.
"Salt Lake City, I want my talent to be seen, and no." Maddox instantly responded to every question as they were spewed out at him.
"I'll tell you when I know you, same reason he does, and possibly." was what we got from Rex who had a smirk on his face
Allen didn't like him, but Chantel was warming up to the idea of forming a band and he was a really talented drummer, almost as good as her uncle CC, so she was ready to deal with whatever stick he had up his ass. With all the questions done they signed their contracts, and they were dismissed to discuss dong ideas.
-----------------------------------------------------------
"These are some kick ass lyrics." Maddox said as he read over Angel Eyes
"Can you believe that is the first ever song she wrote?" Allen beams proud of his friend
The boys had been surprised to find out Chantel was the "leader" of the group after the grilling Allen had given them, but Chantel apologized for his actions and that he was over protective of her. They had all laughed, well, besides Rex. He had sat quietly looking over the three songs she had written, Angel Eyes, Broken, and Victims. It was making everyone awkward and Allen was regretting letting him pick up a pen. Oh well.
