Character and background book for Night Watch Series

Villagers of the Wild Ones (1)

Christian Coma (origin- Black Veil Brides, Silent Civilian)

Christian is a Dawn Fae. Unlike Andrew, he works in the main village. He is a Smithy by trade, working under Ginger, but also loves to stay involved in the community by helping out with gardening projects and musical festivals. He's forever trying to get Andrew involved in things to get his mind off of Juliet, and is one of the few people (if not the only one) who hasn't given up on Andrew entirely in his social isolation.

Like his mentor, Ginger, he is also a Berserker. Though not quite as battle haze-crazed as Iggy, CC has been known to do some pretty destructive (though effective) things when 'in the zone.'

Christian has the wings of a Luna Moth (Actias luna):

He has the antennae of a Cecropia moth:

Tobias Forge
(origin- Subvision, Repugnant, Crashdïet)

Papa Emeritus (origin- Ghost)

Tobias and the five Nameless Ghouls are the longest (though not technically living) residents of the Wild Ones. Most of the residents believe Tobias to be a harmless gengångare, and he is happy to keep it that way. He's been the Tribe's bookbinder, librarian, and scribe for longer than anyone can remember.

But Tobias is not at all a gengångare, nor was he ever even a Fae to start with. And the Five Nameless Ghouls by his side include some replacements, for various reasons. The power he wields treads the razor-sharp line between good and evil, and is kept in check by his innate desire to protect his home.

Billy Gibbons
(origin- ZZ Top, Billy Gibbons and the BFG's, the Moving Sidewalks, acting, BFG brand sauces)

Billy is a hard-working , but mellow kind of guy. He's a bit unique, in that he's a Dusk Fae that's also well-suited to the Day. He's adaptable. Also fairly unique is that his fellow lead farriers, Dusty and Frank, have been in their positions almost as long as he has, (over four centuries). The three of them work most extensively with the animals kept by the Watch, though the Council also has a sizeable stable, and they also have some private clients.

Perhaps most characteristically, with folks that don't know them well, Billy and Dusty often get mistaken for one another. Neither one intends to get rid of their trademark beards, they tend to take a little merriment in the light-hearted mischief of the mistaken identities.

Dusty Hill
(origin- ZZ Top, The Zombies [cover band], American Blues, the Cellar Dwellers, the Warlocks, acting)

Dusty's known Frank for longer than most of the Wild Ones have been alive, and most likely the same could be said for how long he's known Billy. Back, many centuries ago, when Dusty and Frank traveled into the Tribe, they found that Billy was already an established farrier, with good business practices. They all decided to team up, and they've been working together smoothly ever since.

Like Billy, Dusty is a Dusk Fae. He claims it's only through bizarre coincidence that he and Billy have come to look so alike over the years. However, it does cause all three of them to get endless hoots and hollers out of people's mistakes.

Frank 'Rube' Beard
(origin- ZZ Top, The Zombies [cover band], American Blues, the Cellar Dwellers, the Warlocks, The Hustlers)

Frank is a Day Fae. Inevitably, with newer customers, they learn his name first, because he generally lacks a long beard. He hopes they don't learn his surname, for obvious reasons. Every now and again, he actually does have a beard, but it never seems to be enough, when compared to Dusty and Billys' beards. His response is just to laugh and tell people that at least he got the mustache right.

Dee Snider
(origin- Twisted Sister, Bent Brother, Widowmaker, Dee Snider's SMF, Desperado, radio, acting, reality tv)

Dee has, over the years, become the co-leader of the Berserkers (with Iggy) among the Wild Ones. By trade, he has a small agricultural operation, growing herbs and very small crops that don't detract from the fertility of the soil. Despite his notoriously large size, brute strength, and fierce demeanor, he's incredibly well spoken and very polite in day to day affairs. All the Wild Ones know, however, that it's imperative to stay out of Dee's way, one he has entered his battle haze. Dee gets along very well with Andrew, and will often act as the contact point, when necessary and time allows, to try and coordinate Berserker attacks with the Watch.

Dee has the wings of the Giant Chinese Dobsonfly (Corydalidae/Megaloptera):

Rob Zombie
(origin- solo work, White Zombie, film director, screenwriter, producer)

Rob is a Night Fae that wears a few hats for the Wild Ones, as he's a man of many talents. He's the head of the Council's Jail for several reasons. Most Fae that find themselves there haven't committed grievous offenses, and he has a decent sense of humor, so he knows how to provide good company, and how to be kind. But for those that have committed serious crimes, he also doesn't fuck around.

That would be why he is also the Executioner for the Wild Ones. He's a wiry kind of strong, so he's quite adept at beheading with his executioner's sword in a single stroke, on the few occasions he's had to use it.

Rob is also a Berserker in times of war, which, honestly, surprises absolutely no one at all that knows him well. He's an eccentric guy. Like Doyle, he will not eat the flesh or by-products of animals, and is very out-spoken about his diet preferences to anyone who will listen.

George Thorogood
(origin- George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers/The Destroyers)

George is a Day Fae. Through plan old elbow grease, he's become the head tanner and chief of the leatherworking shop in the Village of the Wild Ones. Every now and then he gets crazy, innovative ideas. Some don't work out, but most of them do. He figured they would the whole time.

Iggy Pop
(origin- solo work, the Psychedelic Stooges/The Stooges, with James Williamson, the Iguanas, acting)

Iggy is a bit of a loose cannon. He's a Dawn Fae that has, over time, established himself as the head of the main architectural shop in the Village. His shop undertakes most of the bricklaying and masonry to be done. However, he's also the co-leader of the Berserkers, alongside Dee. Of the two of them, Iggy is regarded as far more destructive (though effective) once in his battle haze, and every Wild One knows to give him a wide berth. In battle, Iggy is a bit like unleashing a wild animal: efforts are made to try and point him in the correct direction, and communication is mostly futile.

Iggy has somewhat unnerving wings that are skeletal in appearance, though functional:

Angus Young (origin- AC/DC, Tantrum, Kantuckee)

A long-time messenger for the Wild Ones, Angus knows how to get something, somewhere quickly and safely without getting killed. He's taken Kellin on as his apprentice within the last few years and is enjoying sharing the burden of work. Angus is a Day Fae and smokes his pipe like a chimney.

Kellin Quinn (origin- Sleeping with Sirens)

Kellin is a young Dawn Fae. He's Angus' apprentice messenger, and catching on pretty quickly. He just entered his third century of age this year, and is very dedicated to his young wife, Katelynne, and daughter, Copeland. He's a big goofball, and an affable guy.

Glenn Danzig (origin- Danzig, Samhain, the Misfits, Koo-Dot-N-Boo-Jang, Talus)

Glenn is an interesting, intense kind of guy. He is perhaps most renowned for his response to those who don't know not to make fun of his height. For those that are either very stupid, very drunk, or new to the Village, a visit to the Healer's Tent is generally what follows. Glenn may be in his sixth century, but he is solid as a rock, and absolutely does not tolerate any shit. Throughout the years, he's had a few arguments with Doyle (the Second Officer of the Night Watch) and his brother Jerry the painter, but, at last, things seem to have settled.

Glenn is a Night Fae, and heads a shop that does household metalworking. In times of dire need, he is capable of weapons repair, but that's not where his strength lies. Generally speaking, during war, he's much more like to be called to the battlefront for his use as a Berserker. He's one of few that seems to keep a (relatively) clear head when in his battle fugue, even to the extent of planning several moves in advance, which is highly unusual.

Ginger Fish (origin- Martyr Plot, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson,VJ DJ)

Ginger has, throughout his life until recently, had a history of being underappreciated and underutilized. However, he's not really much of a complainer. He just worked harder. Eventually, the hard work paid off, and he now runs the blacksmithy for the Wild Ones. He's extremely skilled, and the skill came from years and years of practice and dedication. He's especially taken Christian under his wing to pass on the tricks of the trade. He also got Christian interested in drums when he was still just an apprentice. He likes to go out at Night at and jam with John the cobbler and Rob the Jailer.

Ginger is a Dusk Fae Berserker, but now that he is the head smithy, he rarely goes into battle, as someone is always needed to tend the forge, to repair weapons. Only in the event of the Village Walls being penetrated will he leave his post. If Ginger enters his battle haze, you'd better clear the way.

John '5' Lowery (origin- John 5 & the Creatures, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Loser, 2wo, David Lee Roth, k. d. lang, Bone Angels, Red Square Black, Lita Ford, Sun King)

John's a good guy. He's a Dusk Fae that's got all sorts of talents, but he's most widely known for two of them: how well he can put together damned near any kind of shoe or boot, and how insanely good he is with a guitar. He's also known Ginger for centuries, and they're pretty close pals. More recently, Rob the Jailer has started hanging out with the two of them, and crowds will gather to watch them play music. He's never been much of a drinker, and prefers to keep his wits.

William 'Control' Francis (origin- William Control, Aiden)

William is a Night Fae that owns the most successful tattoo parlor in the Village. Though he is a tattoo artist, his primary role these days is management of the shop and a variety of other interests. He's a prolific writer and designs clothes, among all manner of things. He's also a fierce Berserker in times of war. He's very fond of his tobacco pipe. William's also known for his very brusque manner, though he's very well-spoken if he thinks you're worth his time.

He was a bit of a mentor to Andrew when he was younger, as they seem to operate on the same wavelength mentally. He gets along well with Shaun, the main tattoo artist at the shop, though the two have completely different mannerisms.

Sandra Alvarenga (origin- Open Your Eyes, Modern Day Escape, Black Veil Brides)

Woodsworker and bowyer, expert marksman, Day Fae. The Watch send Watchmen to Sandra that are having trouble mastering ranged combat. Sandra has known Andrew since childhood. They were close in Training as kids. Andrew was very disappointed initially when their paths proved to be different, but has since accepted that the Watch would have been an ill fit. Andrew has been avoiding Sandra, along with everyone else, ever since Juliet died.

Sandra has interesting wings. They are shaped like a butterfly's, but are not powdered:
