Chapter 4

(Lola's POV)

After about 3 rings coming from the phone, the voice of a worried woman answered, "hello?"
The voice I would know anywhere. The voice of the woman who raised me from her womb. The woman that loved Erik and was the most excited for my wedding.
"Hi.. Mom.. It's Lola..." I quietly spoke into the bottom end of the phone. I start to twist my hair nervously while waiting for her to respond. The other side of the phone is quiet except for the quiet sound of my mothers breathing against the receiver. She still didn't speak after a minute of silence, so I decided to just start explaining.
"I'm sorry I ran out, I just don't love him anymore. I don't want you to worry about me, I am going to be staying at a friend's place in town for a while, I just feel like I need to get away from everything for a little bit..." Hoping my explanation was good enough I trailed off at the end, waiting for her to have an outburst of either saddness or anger. A sigh cane from the other end. I braced myself for what she was going to say. But nothing. This is very unlike her.
"Mom, I need to come over to grab some stuff for the time being, is it ok for me to come over?"
Biting my lip nervously and tapping my fingers on the oak tabletop, I waited for her response.
It came as a whisper, "yes. But don't expect your father or I to be here, we don't know if we can handle this situation properly yet. Be here around 3 the house will be unlocked and your phone is on the counter."
"Thank-" the line cut off with a beep in the middle,"you.." I sighed and turned around to See Sammi looking at me curiously.
"How did it go Lola?"
"I honestly don't know, she was very quiet. Which is very unlike my mother, she is usually the loud and opinionated one."
"Oh.. Are you ok?" Her eyes filled with curiosity.
"Ya. Will you take me over there around 3:00.. I need to get some of my stuff. They said that they won't be there."
"Of course!" She giggled as she said, "You can borrow some of my clothes because I don't really think you want to walk outside in my pajamas or your wedding dress!"
"Haha, ya I don't think that would be fun to do, you have no idea how much that dress weighs!" I laughed with her.
She retreated to her room and grabbed a plain dark purple tank top(http://www.sugarlipsseamless.com/seamless-tank-top.html) and some skull print high waisted shorts(http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Girls/Bottoms/Shorts/Skull+Chiffon+Shorts-776244.jsp).
I changed quickly and pulled my long auburn hair into a messy high ponytail, leaving some fringe and my bangs out in my face. Since I didn't have any makeup I was ready to go. I walked back to the main part of Sammie's house where she was standing by the kitchen table texting someone, probably Jinxx.

"Oh hey," Sammi said as she looked up from her phone. "That outfit looks really cute on you!"
"Thanks. It's really cute. Thanks for letting me borrow it. I'm just wondering, do you have any shoes i could borrow? I don't exactly want to wear 5 inch heels to pack."
"Yep. Catch!"
She threw me a pair of flip flops that looked like they would fit.
"Good throw! Thanks!"
She grabbed her keys and said overly enthusiastic, "lets go!!!" We got in the car and started the half hour drive to my parents. They live halfway across L.A. Sammi started talking soon after we got on the highway, "I can't wait to have you stay here, I've actually never lived with anyone besides jinxx and well my family. But whatevs.. Do you want to go shopping later? Maybe we could get some stuff to make your room seem more like your own?! Ooh I have an idea-"
I cut her off, "Sammi are you ok?"
"Yep. Great. Better than ever!" She almost shouted.
"How much coffee did you drink?" I giggled at her caffeine fueled energetic outburst.
"I don't know I think about 3 cups. I was really tired." She said, starting to calm down a bit. She was fidgeting though, which was funny to watch.
Ten minutes later we pulled up in front of the familiar colonial style house. It's wood siding was painted a bright white, three large round pillars were placed on the front patio, connecting the overhang starting above the second story to the ground. My parents house.
"We're here!" Sammi exclaimed and looked at me with excitement!

Notes

I have one more chapter I'm working on. It might also be up tonight.. Might not because I have a headache but.. I hope you like it! I think this one is longer than the last one. It's hard to tell on my phone. Sorry if there is any grammar or spelling mistakes.
I appreciate the comments! :)

sometimes you listen to people when you shouldn't. Like at the end of the day, most of the time you are going to trust your family. And you can kind of be brainwashed and have them put thoughts into your head, it's not that hard. Also guilt. I mean, it's simply a story that I definitely did not do very well in the writing category :/ sometimes there are doubts that are at the back of your mind that can be drawn out when something happens...
I don't understand why Lola would ever listen to the parents and siblings that scorned her throughout her adolescent life. If they didn't support her then, of course they aren't going to support her decisions now, so they are going to discourage her from doing what she wants to do. Why would Lola just up and leave the people that had shown her so much more love than anyone else had ever given her?

Lol, thanks, and it's just kind of awkward to write because it's weird to know it came from my mind... And you're right though. And thanks! :)
