Heart of Fire

Once I walked into the bus I saw Jackson was seated doing his manager stuff. He looked up at me, "Did you just have sex or something? You actually look happy."

My face reddened and I looked at my toes. "No, I just went on a date with Ashley."

"And you didn't tell me?"

"I don't know you're my big brother, I don't want you to get all protective over me." I glance up at him, he seemed in a good mood too.

"Eh, I agree with you. We could get some publicity." I stared at him, shocked. Was this really all he cared about? He had always been a caring person, not in it for the money or publicity.

"No, I actually like him." I said, my voice was a bit too sharp.

"I don't think he's exactly capable of love. I'm just trying to look out for you. I don't want you to get hurt." He had completely stopped doing his work now and was staring a me, concerned.

"Why is everyone saying that?"

"Because maybe it's true. Ever since Mom and Dad died you've been reckless. Launching yourself into situations and having me have to dig you out!"

Ouch. He knew how to use my parents against me. I could feel tears swelling in my eyes. I bit the inside of my cheek trying to stop the tears from coming. My good mood was over.

"Don't talk about them." I said in a low voice.

He just shook his head, "Don't you think hurts me too? I just don't want you to be wasting your life away! He's not the kind of person you want to be associated with."

"You just said it would be good for publicity!"

"I was joking Skylar..." He took a long breath, "Just promise me you won't turn out like Nicki."

"Oh my GOD!" I yelled and went back to my bedroom that was in the back of the bus. Tears started to fall.

He didn't even know about Ashley. HE wasn't the one that talked and joked around with him for hours. He was just being an over protective big brother. Right?

I needed to vent, I called Hudson. He had always been there for me and I just couldn't be alone right now. I was mad and I didn't want to do something I would regret.

"Hello?" he answered on the third ring.

"Hi what's up?" I said trying to not sound like i was just crying.

"Nothing much. I'm hanging out with Jinxx. Are you okay? You don't sound so good."

He knew me too well. "Well, I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out. I have some things I wanted to talk to you about."

"Yeah of course, you could come with us if you want, we were just leaving to go get some new props."

"Alright I'll be right there."

I grabbed my purse and a jacket and walked out of the bus not looking at Jackson. I just realized he didn't tell me where they were now. I didn't have to walk far though they were right in the lot.

I walked over to them and Hudson gave me a big hug. I must look bad. "What happened?"

"I'll tell you when we drive." I said, then we got in the car and we drove off, me telling them everything. Even Jackson's mention of our parents.

"Well that's bull." Hudson said, he always took my side to things.

"Ashley usually isn't that bad when hes in a relationship. When he's not is the problem. But notice I said usually." JInxx said, and I trusted his opinion.

I shouldn't worry.
