They Can't Stop Us From Our Freedom

A couple days passed and Andy and I hadn’t talked much. Our conversations consisted of “hi”, “sorry”, “are you ready yet”, and the best one, “ANDY GET OUT OF THE BATHROOM I NEED TO PEE”.

Everyday was like the next. Wake up, go work at the merch tent, repel creepers, and come back to the bus and do whatever in my bunk. It really hurt knowing that we could go from making out to that in a matter of one night. I knew this would happen if I fell for him. I just keep. getting. hurt. However, today was different.

“Windy?” Andy called from the front of the bus.

“I’m in my bunk and I don’t plan on getting up, get your ass back here if you want to talk to me.” I called back.

“You’re so lazy, I swear.”

“Get over it.”

I heard him getting up from the couch where he was playing some stupid game with the band and walk towards my bunk.

“Hey, I want to take you out today. We play the third set on mainstage today so we can hang out afterwards. Also, I talked to our manager and he’s giving you the day off. Which means today is the day that you get to perform In The End with us”

“Oh, great, umm, I really need to go to the mall, I’m suffering from lack of makeup and you’re suffering from lack of bodily maintenance. When the fuck was the last time you showered you smell fucking nasty.”

“I promise I will shower right now and then we will go play our set and then we can go to the mall and maybe out to a late lunch/early dinner so we can make it back in time to leave.”

“That means I have to get dressed, ugh Biersack you owe me.”

I put on white high waisted shorts, a crop top, and my red, plaid converse so that I could be comfy while walking around warped. I figured that if I got the day off why not go see some of the bands playing and I needed something I could go to the mall in afterwards.

I went and saw about 4 or 5 smaller bands in the morning. I loved Pvris and This Wild Life the most. Then I went to New Years Day and after their set I went to go warm up with Black Veil Brides.

I got backstage and immediately the nerves set in.

“Andy I don’t think I can do this. There are so many people out there already and there’s still time before you start your set. I can’t do this.”

“Windy,” he said taking my face in his hands so that my eyes met his bright blue ones, “you’re amazing, I know you can do this I’ve heard you do it before. Just pretend we’re in the bus together doing it alone.”

“Andy--” I got cut off by their manager telling them to get ready to go on.

“I have to go, you’ll be amazing,” he kissed me and left.

Well, this is it.

“Hey everyone!” Andy yelled after they’ve played most of their songs. A million teenage girls screamed back “I love you Andy”.

“Thank you everyone for coming out, I would like to introduce you to someone special, well, she works behind the scenes selling merch for us—“

“Andy, you better stop right now.” I thought to myself.

“We’re all very grateful to have her on tour with us this summer, her name’s Windy and she’s standing right behind CC. Get out here Windy!”

I shook my head no but the whole crowd was insistent, chanting my name over and over again. I finally got the courage to walk out from hiding spot.

“There she is!”

The crowd went crazy.

“Here, have a mic,” Ashley said.

“Um, hi guys, I don’t really know what I’m doing up here, but Andy I swear to god you’re going to get it later.”

“In the good way or the bad way?” He asked as the crowd erupted into a fit of laughter.

“I’ll think about it,” I replied and the crowd went crazy. “I’m going to kill you,” I mouthed to Andy as I walked back behind him.

“Alright guys this next one’s called In The End,” the crowd went crazy, “we’re going to be doing something a little different today though,” he said as Jake grabbed the acoustic guitar, “see Windy here, she’s a singer, and a pretty amazing one, so I want you guys to show her a little bit of love!” I’ve never seen a group of people go that crazy before.

I have to say it wasn’t that bad having to sing in front of that many people. I kind of liked it.

“So Windy, not so bad, huh?” Andy smirked.

“Fuck you, I couldn’t even get some kind of warning before you did that?!”

“You knew today was the day.”

“Yeah but there was no warning so I could prepare myself, it was just all of a sudden, ‘Oh its time to come out shit wasn’t ready for that’.”

“Shut up Windy you killed it,” Ashley patted me on the back.

“See,” Andy mouthed.

I flipped him off.

We went to the mall and had our lunch thingy and everything seemed pretty normal.

“Hey, Windy, I gotta ask you something.” Oh god what did I do.

“Yeah?”

“What are we?”

“I don’t actually know. I mean friends, right?”

“We need to sit down and actually talk about this.”

“But we’re on tour there is no time to sit down we’re constantly moving all the time.”

“Well we’re together now.”

“Andy, I’m sorry you’re a great guy but I’ve been thinking and after all I’ve been through I don’t know if I can do this, I need to just be by myself and have time to figure out who I am, who I wanna be, and who I need to be. I really don’t feel like having another person to, this is going to sound bad, but deal with.”

“I understand.”

We went back in silence. What the hell did I just do? I just can’t stop fucking up.

also wtf is wrong with me i'm literally writing this and being like oh my god i fucked up bad but not wanting to change it because its so good and so juicy like when i was writing ellie in i had the intention of doing that so it was literally painful to put her in there because like windy and andy 5ever but we'll see where i take it from here
