They Can't Stop Us From Our Freedom

“Hey Windy, we’re gonna head out and get ready for our set. It starts at 3:30. You should probably head out to the merch table at 10:30, that’s when doors open.”

“Alright.”

I got ready. It took me awhile since I wasn’t used to wearing clothes that weren’t designer and wearing black in the summer was new for me but I could definitely get used to it. All these clothes were so much more comfortable. I figured I had the bus to myself so I started blasting music. I had 2 hours to get ready and the boys were gone. I stripped down to my bra and underwear because it was hot as shit in the bus and danced and sang while I put on my makeup and did my hair. That was until CC walked in.

I thought I heard a knock on the door but I just ignored it and continued to get ready because the boys had taken everything they needed before they left. No one came in for about 5 minutes after the initial knock so I let my guard down and continued. And then the door opened but I didn’t hear it…until CC said something. I just kinda turned around slowly.

“Oh shit.”

“Um hi Windy…what’s going on here.” He said with a smirk.

“Just, ya know, getting ready.”

“That’s cool, I need to, uh, use the restroom now.”

“Oh, yeah, of course, go ahead.”

“That would entail you leaving the bathroom first.”

“Oh, yeah, I forgot I was still in here.”

That was the worst 30 seconds of warped tour. And worst of all, I had to call Lindley and let her know CC had just seen me basically naked.

She flipped, of course, it’s the natural response from everyone who just hears that their crush has just seen their best friend naked. After she stopped screaming at me I was finally able to explain and she calmed down.

Just for safety, I put on black, high waisted shorts with white skulls on them, a black, studded bralette because it was waaay too hot to wear a normal shirt, and red platform shoes and continued to do my hair.

I left the bus at around 10 so I could make it to the merch table before my shift started. I needed to leave time just in case I got lost.

I opened the door just to feel a gust of hot wind blow in my face. I swear, I just did my makeup I do not need to sweat it off.

I walked to the merch tent getting there just in time. I had started to sweat and was getting incredibly frustrated given that I put so much effort into my makeup today. They had a mini fan but that did absolutely nothing.

I had been at the table for about an hour when I heard a girl call my name. It was Ellie. She walked up wearing an Of Mice and Men shirt, a Batman hat, black studded shorts, and combat boots.

“Hey Ellie! How have you been?”

“So amazing, ever since I met you and Andy life has just been so…lucky. All my friends were so jealous and actually started treating me with some respect and I don’t blame them. What about you?”

“Well Andy and I are currently fighting. Other than that, I’m traveling with my favorite band on warped tour it can’t get much better than that can it.”

“Aw, I’m sorry. Well I gotta go. Black Veil Brides is almost on. Seeya!”

“Bye!”

Ellie came to hang out in the booth after all the shows she wanted to go to were over. After BVB had finished all their signings we all went back to the bus.

“So, Andy, you looked really great up there today.” Ellie flirted while hanging off of Andy.

“Why thank you Ellie. And I don’t think I ever properly introduced you to the band. Everyone this is Ellie and Ellie, well, I assume you know who we are haha.” Hot shot, I thought to myself.

In the moment, it felt like Andy was totally flirting with Ellie and I was getting frustrated. I mean she was fucking fourteen years old. But I couldn’t do anything about it, Andy wasn’t my boyfriend and I wasn’t his mom. I survived about 20 minutes of this before I told them I was going to go take a nap. They all wanted to go clubbing later as we were in LA and I needed a break. All that standing and repelling creepers that were trying to hit on me from across the merch table had me exhausted.

I was so done with Ellie, I woke up around 10 and she was still in the bus. Only this time she wasn’t just hanging off Andy’s shoulder, she was giving him a drunk lap dance. Well, she was drunk, he wasn’t.

“Seriously, Andy?! You got a fourteen year old drunk and now she’s giving you a lap dance?! What the fuck is wrong with you?! Ellie get over here!” I said grabbing her and yanking her off of him.
“God Windy, no need to ruin the fun stop being so fucking jealous,” Andy said back, “I’m going to bed.”

“Fuck off, Andy,” I said while flipping him off, “Ellie how do you plan on getting home?”

“I don’t know.” She giggled drunkenly.

“Guys I’m gonna call Lindley and Sammi to come and get Ellie and take her home and if they can’t, I’m taking her myself.”

“NOOOO,” they all yelled in my face because of that comment.

“Guys, she’s fourteen, go hire a real stripper if you need to have some fun.”

I called Lindley up immediately.

“WINDY OMG I HAVEN’T HEARD FROM YOU ALL DAY HOW WAS YOUR FIRST DAY OF WARPED?!”

“Pretty good until about 4 hours ago but I’ll give you the deets in a sec. Do you remember that Ellie chick me and Andy met at therapy?”

“Yeah…kind of.”

“Well she’s in the bus and has no way of getting home so I was wondering if you and Sammi wanted to come get her.”

“Sure if it means I get to spend the night with you guys.”

“We’re leaving for the next city tonight but I’m sure CC would let you share his bunk and you can fly home whenever you want.”

“Maybe but we still gotta get Ellie home first. Hang on let me yell at Sammi to get in the car.

“Alright we’re on our way, she’s gonna drive so I can talk. Tell me everything.”

“Well, we all remember this morning, that was awful. Matty actually ended up roofying me and Andy beat his ass after yelling at me. Anyways, I worked in the merch tent for like 4 hours and ran into Ellie. She’s a really nice girl but the boys got her drunk and now she’s all over Andy and he’s not even I’m so fucking pissed at him right now I forgot to tell you about that this morning. So basically he got mad at me for getting roofied at the kick off party last night and we made up and I kissed him—“

“YOU WHAT?!”

“Yo dude let me finish. Then, the rest of the band walked in and CC asked why he still had ‘the girl from last night’ in his room and so basically he was being a fucking hypocrite because I had sex with Matty against my will and that was “irresponsible”.

“YOU DID WHAT?! I’ve literally been away from you for 2 days and you’ve kissed Andi and gotten roofied. What the fuck? I’m taking you home I don’t trust Andy.

“Wait hang on something big’s happening…of course Ellie’s making out with Andy now.”

“Yup, you’re coming with us. There is no way I’m letting you stay with these assholes. I’m calling CC right after we get off the phone.”

“Well, my first days on warped have been actual shit and have not helped anything at all.How have you been?”

“Well we went shopping and stuff. I love Sammi she’s like my other sister, besides you of course.”

“Well I’m glad you’re getting along. I’ll see you in like an hour I guess.”

“Yeup, see ya! And I’m taking you home whenever I decide to come home unless Andy makes some serious changes. This is not okay Windy, you’ve been hurt so much by him you need to come back.”

That hour was the slowest fucking hour of my life, I had to watch Ellie ALL. OVER. HIM. But Lindley finally arrived.

“Alright Ellie your chauffeurs are here.”

“But I don’t wanna leave.”

“But you have to. Sorry hun. Let’s hit it. Guys, do not leave without me.”

“Wait, let me go with you to see Sammi.” Jinxx said as I was walking out.

“Wait, I wanna see Lindley.” CC said jumping with excitement.

“CC Lindley’s gonna be staying with us tonight and flying home tomorrow, which means you’re gonna have to share your bunk, if that’s okay with you, if not I’ll send her home with Sammi and Ellie.”

“And why the hell would that not be okay with me?”

“That’s what I thought, alright I will be back.”

I returned with Lindley and of course CC jumps all over her.

“Alright guys when are we heading out?”

“Oh shit I forgot clothes…Oh well I’ll just borrow Windy’s.” Lindley said.

“Oh yeah we gotta change. And you should too…you guys are just a tiny bit gross smelling.”

We changed and headed out. I put on a black long sleeve dress with super tall booties and Lindley put on a blue cut out dress with black heels.

Right before we left Andy stopped me.

“Windy? Are you alright?”

“Well besides the fact that I just had to watch a drunk as hell Ellie make out with you, I’d say I’m pretty okay.”

“Look, Windy, the last thing I want to do is hurt you.”

“Oh yeah, you should’ve told me that before I kissed you and then found out you fucked some random girl and then had to watch you make out with Ellie, a fucking fourteen year old.”

“Windy, I really like you, and I would call it love but I saw how you reacted to that earlier so I’m not gonna drop the “L-Bomb” yet—“

“Did you just say “L-Bomb”?”

“Shut the fuck up I’m trying to apologize.”

“You want me to forgive you after making out with a fourteen year old girl. Andy you hurt me. A lot. And I don’t even like you that much. Imagine what happens if I fall for you too hard.”

“I promise this time it’s for real. I can’t do this anymore, I want you so bad and I just can’t stand to hurt you anymore. That was it, I’m done being an asshole.”

“Ya know what? I don’t want this entire summer to be a piece of shit, so I’m going to be forgiving, BUT you have to promise me one thing.”

“Anything.”

“I’m the only one whose lips can touch yours.” And I kissed him.

“Wow, I think I can live with that.”

Fuck, Windy what did you just do to yourself?
