“Ashley went the same way the giant beast thing went but I wouldn’t follow.” Jinxx said.

“Why?” I looked at Jake.

Jake shrugged. “He sort of got attacked by a wolf.”

“HE WHAT?!” I shouted, ready to run after him.

“Or he was the wolf. I’m not sure what I saw.” Jake looked away.

Jinxx sighed audibly.

“You’re not the type to doubt yourself.” I observed.

“He turned into a wolf.” Jake breathed a sigh of relief.

“My best friend isn’t a wolf.” I laughed nervously. “I think I would know.”

“I told you not to tell him.” Jinxx said.

“I’ve seen him snuggle a kitten.” I said dismissively. “Wolves don’t do that.”

Jake laughed. “Not anymore.” He shook his head. “He’s a wolf now.”

“This is crazy.” I shook my head and started walking toward the cutline in the trees. I don’t care if there’s a jaguar or wolf bestie, these guys are crazy and I have to keep moving. “Peace out.” I shrugged it off and walked away.

Walking away from the moonlit path in the middle of what looks like a real forest is a new level of weird. I had a long shadow cast before me and I was painfully aware of every sound for miles. I started thinking about the last show we played and the moment I stood atop my drum chair, hands in the air with my sticks in my hand like Jake in bear mode and began laughing. I stopped walking and laughed in place until I fell to my knees. What was so funny?

“So you’ve lost your mind.” Jinxx observed from his speaker above.
