tomorrow i was going into the hospital, and andy was to move in, so today i decided that is would be a mommy and cory day. he and i were to spend the day at the beach, just the two of us. i want him to remember happy times, not the one from last night. i was puking when cory walked into the bathroom, he was shocked to see me in that state. i had pushed out of the room, and locked him out. i didnt want him to see that. after wards, it slept in my room with me, even though i got very little sleep, all i could think about was how scared i was...ever since i found out about the cancer in my kidneys.
i woke cory up the next morning, and got him dressed in his swim trunks, making sure that his floaties were in the beach bag, and had another one filled with toys for him, so he and i could make sand castles. i made him his favourite breakfast, chocolate chip pancakes, with bacon on the side
''mommy no choco?'' he asked me, noticing that my pancakes were plain. chocolate had been making mme sick lately
''oh, i ran out of chocolate chips when i made mine'' i told him, and he nodded, believing my lies.
after we had finsihed, i left the dishes for andy todo, and got cory in the car we arrived at the beach within minutes, he was excited. we got down to the water, and i set up the towels for us to lay on while he played in the sand
''cory, come hun'' he came over, scrunching up his face as a covered himm in sun screen
''mommy nooooo'' he whined
''cory yeeeees'' i mimicked ''dont want you getting a sun burn, do you?''
''no...''
''cmon, wanna go for a swim?'' i put his floaties on, and held his hand as we walked to the sollow water. he couldnt completely swim, but was in swimming lessons, so he could stay afloat, and i was always close behind him. we stayed at the beach until dinner, eating lunch there, and getting icecream for desert.
we stayed a little late, just to watch the sun set, and picked up mcdonalds on the way home, but i hadnt eaten much, in fear that it would come back up. when we got home, i bathed cory, and put him into some red fluffly pjs, then put on a movie after i had done the same. we mucnhed on popcorn, while watching peter pan fight off pirates in neverland, soon, the movie was over, and it was time forr bed, and the hard part of today. telling cory that i would have to leave for a bit.
''cory hunny, time forr bed'' i lifted him up,and carried him to my room ''cory... lets talk''
''why sad?'' he asked
''because babby, tomorrow mommy will be going away for a little while...''
''why?''
''because im sick, and where im going, its gunna make me all better. you will be with your daddy while im gone''
''i come!''he yelled
''no baby, not this time. where im going, you cant stay. you can come visit me, but i need you to be my strong boy, okay? im gunna miss you so much, and we will talk on the phone every night, i promise. but you gotta be good for your daddy, okay?''
''otay''
''you watch baby, mommy will be back to her old self.''
''why go?''
''i need to. if i dont ggo away for a little bit, i'll get worse, and be gone for much longer. i love you so much baby, dont you ever forget that''
''i love you too'' i smiled, that had always been his best sentence.
''cmon now, time to close your eyes and sleep''
''story!''
''okay...''i started telling him a story of the top of my head, but didnt get to finish because his eyes had closed, and his breath had grown heavy. i watched him sleep for a minute or two, taking in the lovely sight, then i clicked off my lamp, layed down, and tired to sleep.
