Between The Roses

Moving On

A soft ray of sunshine shone in through the large window on the wall and onto the dark hardwood floors. It created a softer and more airy atmosphere for me. The last three weeks were super stressful with meeting after meeting and band practice after band practice to finalize choosing Colt as our new guitarist. But I finally have the rest of my pregnancy off, my only job being to write some songs, which I can totally do.

It has been nice not having to worry about work or Callum and Zara. I was sitting on the floor, holding a nail in my hand staring at it confused. Where did this thing go? Andy and I decided to put together the crib and the changing table today and so far we have neither put together and both of us were more confused than anything. As I turned my head to look for the instructions, I noticed they were on the floor, just out of my reach.

“Hey babe?” I asked and heard Andy grunt in response.

“Could you maybe be awesome and hand me the instructions?” I asked and he looked over at the paper and sighed.

“It’s so far away though,” he whined and I looked over at him. He was holding a hammer and one of the boards for the crib in his hand.

“It’s further away from me,” I stated and he looked at me.

“Just stuck your arm out and it’ll magically come to you,” he was trying not to laugh.

“Oh yeah, cause that’s totally something that’ll happen. Please?” I stuck out my bottom lip at him and he stared at me for a second before reaching his hand out and made the grabby hand motion.

“It’s too far away,” he whined in a joking manner.

“Okay sir, you are lying. You are like a foot taller than me, you can grab it,” I was beginning to chuckle at how stupid he looked.

“Ugh,” he was being dramatic as he set the hammer and board down next to him. Then he reached for the instructions and fell over onto the floor and pushed the instructions my way.

“Was that so hard?” I asked him with a chuckle.

“It was, now I think I’m too tired to get up,” he mumbled and I laughed.

“You try growing a human inside of you for nine months, then tell me how hard it is to get up,” I told him with a chuckle. He rolled over onto his side and rested his head on his hand.

“Hey Sadee,” he started and I looked over at him after figuring out where the screw went.

“Hmm?” I asked him.

“Have you thought of any names?” He asked. Wow, he’s actually willing to have this discussion?

“I mean, yeah of course. What about you?” I asked.

“I’ve been thinking the last few days while in the studio that we’re obviously having a kid and he has no name yet,” Andy rolled over onto his back and put his arms in the air.

“I’ve been calling him Lincoln,” I shrugged and got to putting together one of the drawers for the changing table.

“Lincoln? Like the band or the president?” He asked.

“President,” I answered and he nodded.

“I like it,” he commented and I smiled.

“So do I. And I was thinking of having your dad’s name be his middle name,” I muttered and Andy looked over at me.

“Really? What about your dad?” He asked.

“I mean, Lincoln Charles sounds fine, but I like Lincoln Christopher better,” I said and he nodded.

“We could give him two middle names. Lincoln Christopher Charles Biersack,” Andy suggested and I raised and eyebrow before looking at him.

“I mean, I guess, but having two middles names seems like a mouthful,” I sighed and he shrugged.

“It was just a suggestion. How’s it going with the changing table?” He asked as he sat up and got back to working on the crib.

“I don’t know, how’s the crib coming along?” I asked.

“Pretty good in my opinion,” he smirked. We both then grew silent as we worked. Andy was focused on making the crib the correct way and it was funny watching him go back and forth with looking at the instructions. From on the floor I heard my phone vibrating, meaning I had a call. I set down the drawer I was working on and grabbed it before answering it.

“Hello,” I greeted the person.

“Hey Sadee, what’re you doing?” I heard Lauren ask.

“I am currently trying to put together the changing table while Andy is trying to put together the crib, why?” I asked.

“I was wondering if you wanted to talk about the baby shower,” she said and I smiled.

“Of course I would. You can come over here because I am so not in the mood to go anywhere today,” I said and she laughed.

“Got it. I’ve got Lettie with me by the way,” she informed me.

“Okay? I’m up in the nursery for when you get here,” I said and she laughed again.

“Got it. We’re on our way. See ya soon,” she said and then hung up. I rolled my eyes and set my phone on the floor. When I looked over at Andy, he was putting the walls up on the crib.

“That is so pretty,” I told him and he laughed.

“I’m not completely stupid when it comes to decor,” he said and I rolled my eyes.

“I don’t think a crib for a human being is considered decor hun,” I chuckled and he shrugged.

“Whatever. I know what you aesthetic is so, that’s all that counts,” he commented and I burst out laughing.

“My aesthetic? I have an aesthetic?” I asked.

“Most of the decor and furniture in this house is dark wood or neutral colors, so yeah, you have an aesthetic,” he confirmed and I laughed again.

“Okay, whatever. I am getting nowhere with this changing table,” I said and he looked at me.

“You have the drawers done. I can do the rest if you want,” he offered and I smiled before trying to stand, to no avail.

“Need help?” He chuckled and I gave him a death glare.

“No shit sherlock. Give me your hand,” I told him and he held his hand out. I grabbed it and pulled myself off the floor.

“Holy shit, I’m only like six months pregnant and it’s already that difficult to get up, I’m scared for when I’m nine months pregnant,” I chuckled and he shrugged before wrapping his arms around my shoulders.

“I’ll still be here to help you get off the couch, or a chair, or the floor,” he kissed the top of my head and I smiled before wrapping my arms around him.

“I know. Just think, in like three months we’re gonna have a mini us to try and keep alive,” I chuckled and he smiled.

“I know,” he smiled all proudly and I shook my head with a smile myself.

“I do have a serious question though,” I said and he raised an eyebrow.

“What?” He asked as he went back to putting together the crib. I crossed my arms over my chest and cleared my throat.

“How long do you think I should take after the little guy is born before I go back to recording and touring?” I asked.

“Uh, well, he’s probably going to be born in October so, maybe wait until at least January before going back to recording. Touring can probably wait until summer,” he said. “I only say this because I know Black Veil is going to be possibly going on tour early next year and I think that both of us gone on tour wouldn’t be conducive for anyone.”

“Gotcha. Well, thanks babe,” I said and gave him a kiss before turning to leave the room.

“Have fun talking about your baby shower that I’m not invited to,” he said.

“It’s not that you aren’t invited, it’s that you’ll be off recording and whatever with the new album. If you happen to show up while the thing is still going on, so what? If my sister has an issue with it, she can take it up with me,” I held up my hands in a fighting stance and Andy lost it laughing. With me being home more often now, Andy and I are able to spend more time together, something I am really looking forward to be doing a lot of before the little guy is born, because after that, I’m pretty sure all of my attention will be on him and not Andy.

Notes
