“He fireproofed the wheels?” I found myself saying aloud.

“Duct tape, Electrical tape, foil tape, pieces of a fireproof blanket, and rubber.” Andy sailed further into the distance. He was making it!

“You’re on fire!” Jinxx said, at first we howled thinking that he was congratulating Andy. That ended quickly when the wheels began to smoke furiously.

“Come back!” I yelled. If he dies on the other side of the red line we’re going to have to restart the mission to save him.

Andy turned back to face us as his board went forward and his back slammed into another invisible wall. He was almost at the end of the street and the road had run out.

As Andy launched himself back toward us, rotating his hips and legs to power the board without touching the ground, Jinxx began to think out loud.

“If we burned through the plastic wall at the same spot we did before and hid out on this side of the red line until the fire burned through and the smoke went away, we could at least get onto the other side of the street.” Jinxx mumbled.

“We could spray fire extinguishers on the plastic ooze and walk on it faster.” Andy jumped over the red line and joined us.

“All right. Massive fire, massive putting out of the fire, and then we walk away free on the other side of that wall?” I pointed to the wall.

“What happens when the sun comes up?” Jinxx observed.

“It hasn’t happened yet.” I shrugged.

“Didn’t Ashley tell you to sit in his room the first night this happened?” Andy said matter-of-factly.

“How does he remember that?” Jinxx accused.

“Yeah! How do you remember that?” I glared.

“You send me a text every time you wake up.” Andy shrugged and lead the way back into the hotel.

“If I send you a text, and it doesn’t erase the next time we all die, why do I not remember sending the text?” I said in disbelief.

“CC and I have the only working phones.” Jinxx glared.
