Building up 2 beach bonfire sized fires took some time and effort, and when the flames roared high into the sky we used steel rods coated in foil tape to push the stacks over toward the wall.

I was so caught up in escaping that I didn’t account for the massive amount of smoke that followed. We stood far away from the flames but the smoke became thick and suffocating.

“Why isn’t it going out the top?” Jinxx shouted.

“I don’t know.” I stared up at the sky and watched the smoke begin to collect, forming a thick cloud that grew larger.

“I don’t think we’re gonna make it if we stand here.” Jinxx yelled.

We went back down to the parking lot floor Jinxx said we’d arrived through and the elevator stopped at the floor but didn’t open. There was no stairwell access for some reason. At the risk of being trapped in the elevator I rammed an assortment of steel and wooden scraps of our destruction into the doors until they were forced to pry apart, revealing underground parking that was surprisingly well lit.

We ran through the parking lot until we reached a large steel garage door that was closed. Jinxx came up with using the master key to scan a card reader on a black and yellow pole on the wall. The door opened slowly and we looked at each other in disbelief as freedom stood before us for the second time that night. Was it that easy to escape this whole time?
