“We have to do that again.” Andy said gleefully.

“Let’s try a table this time.” Jinxx looked at the table holding his door open.

“You need to get your stuff out of that room.” I shook my head.

Ashley went to his room and pulled a chair out. “Guys.” He said. “This is the same chair we watched get destroyed a minute ago.”

“No way.” Andy took the chair.

“There was a rip on the seat.” Ashley pointed.

“I saw that.” Jinxx added.

I touched the chair and looked at the pieces of wood scattered around the hallway.

We pushed the same chair into the doorway again and watched the slamming door destroy it a second time. Then we had Ashley stand in his room while Andy and Jinxx watched the same chair get destroyed by Jake’s door. The chair didn’t magically reappear until Ashley left his room and went back inside.

After destroying a table and a two more chairs, the novelty wore off. “Now what?” Andy asked.

I surveyed the scattered wood around the hallway and smiled.

“Now we jump in.” Jinxx said.

“No way.” I folded my arms.

“If we can get to Jake before he shouts at somebody to turn the spotlight on, maybe nothing will happen.” Jinxx said.

“Maybe I don’t wish for death via haunted doorway?” I replied.

“I’ll do it.” Andy shrugged.

“No you won’t.” Ashley said. “I will.” He added.

“Let’s go then.” Andy said.

“All right.” Ashley shrugged and looked at me.

“Dibs out.” I said and looked at Jinxx.

“Ditto.” He added.

The door clicked and opened. Ashley smirked and Andy smiled.
