“I’m not sure I want to see this.” I said.

Ashley came back with a chair. “I say this time we kick a chair at the door.”

“But.” Andy said pensively. “What if the chair sees the chair slamming the door in its face, I mean, how is the chair going to handle that?”

We were all laughing before he finished his thought.

“Okay.” I said excitedly. “How about we put Jinxx in the chair, then hurl the chair at the door?”

Everybody laughed but Jinxx.

Ashley stood next to the door handle and decided to explain the rest without words. He made a motion with his arms for the door opening, Andy pushing the chair into the doorway, and the door getting caught open as it shut.

We stood in silence. I burst into laughter and everybody joined. We were, after all, standing in a hotel hallway in the middle of the night, staring at a door.

I nodded to Ashley. “Fuck this, I’m tired of waiting.” I announced and stepped away.

I heard the door click open and saw Ashley and Andy throw the chair into the open doorway as the light came on and the door slammed shut. The chair shattered as the door slammed and pieces of wood flew into the room and out the door. I dropped down to the ground and covered my head for some reason. It was over within moments.

I looked up at Andy’s wide eyed face. “Holy shit!” He yelled in astonishment.

Ashley stood calm and pensive, eyes darting around the frame of the door.

“Glad I wasn’t in the chair.” Jinxx sighed.
