“NOW!” Jake yelled.

A bright white spotlight turned on and blinded me. I threw my arm over my eyes to block the light out and tried to see past it when I heard the door slam shut. I looked up a second later to see Jinxx standing behind me, the color drained from his face. “What the hell happened?” I said angrily, scanning my key in the door. The light on the card scanner beamed red, the door didn’t open. I banged the side of my fist against the door. “JAKE!” I yelled. “WHAT THE FUCK!”

I tried the key again and again. The door wouldn’t open. I glanced at my phone, watching the time as I banged on the door and yelled at Jake. He’s fucking lost it. He’s in there with a spotlight and Jinxx must’ve seen something I didn’t.

I watched as three minutes passed without any sign of the door opening. I turned to Jinxx. “What did you see?” I yelled. He hadn’t moved. His breathing was shallow.

“I…” He looked away from the door and at me. “I saw myself slam the door in my face.” He said, stepping further away from Jake's door as he spoke.

“No.” I said quietly. “It was the light.” I shrugged and forced a smile. “It was really bright.” I sounded like I didn’t believe myself.

“I know what I saw.” Jinxx said quietly.

Jake’s door opened again and the room appeared to be pitch black. Jinxx put his arms in the air as though he was being held at gunpoint.

“Relax.” I smiled. “Ash! Come see this shit!” I yelled down the hallway.

Ashley and Andy appeared in Andy’s doorway.

“Seriously guys. You have to be here to see this.” I laughed nervously.

Jinxx stepped back and stood against the wall, folding his arms.

Ashley stood next to me.

“Is he okay?” Andy looked at Jinxx, standing in front of him and waving a hand in front of his face.

“Watch this.” I grinned and kicked Jake’s door open as hard as I could.

I saw Ashley smile from the corner of my eye.
