Chase

Andy

“I've told you this a thousand times and mom, I will tell this every-time,” I enunciate slowly so as to not let myself yell, “This is not me.” I wave around the lavish house as she observes me with crisp flat lips. “I need music... I don't care. There's no need to make my decisions for me!” I wait for her reply challenging for another argument but unfortunately Kellie's appearance interrupts us.

“Wow, your garden is amazing!” She smiles, joining us on the kitchen island, fascinated after seeing our small greenhouse and backyard. My neck still hurts from sleeping in the awkward position last night. Damn, I should've just let her sleep on the sofa instead of transferring her on my bed, like the kind mothafucking soul I'm trying to be. “Um, was I interrupting something? I-I'm sorry...”

“Oh, nothing Important. Glad you liked it! You need to come in next time for some gardening.” My mom smiles, her eyes almost mirroring Kellie's with all fascination and excitement.

Nothing Important, my ass. Seriously, It feels like my mom has taken a weird liking towards her and they've hardly just met. That's so unlike her! But if something is really making her happy, I guess I don't mind.

“Wow, sure. Thanks!” Kellie laughs and I sigh. Women.

I step on the gas and drive my way into the main street. I switch on the heater because of the cold weather that will soon get more lower. For the same reason I made a girl cry, now I'm being avoided and I don't blame her. She left just before me and must not have reached too far, I think as I pick up speed and right on the sidewalk, I spot the long chocolate hair swung into the usual pony tail. I lower my window.

Hey.” She ignores me and I try again. “Hey! Hello, bonjour, namaste?”

“I heard you the first time, Andy.” She rolls her eyes, accelerating her strides. I drum my fingers on the solid door, somehow sure that it's annoying her.

“So you're going to walk all the fucking way to school?” I ask and smile when she almost stumbles on her path like the clumsy one she is but I choose not to comment on it. “Hop in. I'll give you a ride.”

“Yes and No, thanks. Now please, leave me alone.” After a piqued grunt, she picks a faster pace and I raise my eye brow, determined to get her shoved inside. You can see the kind soul I am?

“Come on, Kell Bell, how can you reprobate such an offer from a hot guy like me?” I smile my most charming one before she flashes in exchange a colorful scowl and bursts into an all-out sprint, her long legs taking her away from me in no time as my eyes narrow down on her but of course I can catch her sooner than ever with my baby Mustang. “Admit it, you want to ride with me!” I laugh and shift into gear, thoroughly amused.

The Tom-and-Jerry chase ends within the next fifteen minutes when I thought, disappointingly that I somehow lost track of her but find her crumpled against the sidewalk in pure exhaustion. Pitiful, I know.

After what feels like forever, I still cannot stop laughing.

“Just stop, Jesus. It's not funny!” She shrieks from beside me. I shake my head, careful not to crash and slowly halt the car outside Stacy's.

“Oh- f-fuck! I-” I stop midway, aching all over, feeling it slowly subside. With a sigh, she slams the door shut and walks into the small dorm and I finally calm myself down. Fuck, my sides are hurting. For being a woman with so less stamina, she sure acts too tough. It was fun chasing her, first thing in the morning. A few minutes pass by as I finish my second peanut butter sandwich and there's no sign of her. I can hear faint noises but it's hard to make out. I have no idea what's her business here and she is taking forever. Just when I think of stepping out, her figure reappears with a bag in her hand and an angry face.

Stacy- in her shorts and makeup, surprisingly both nonexistent- appears behind her and my eyebrows shoot up when she clearly curses something. For a second her eyes go wide at the sight of my car before looking away and slams the door causing a tremor. With a beyond irritated growl, Kellie plops on the passenger seat continuing to look down at her lap.

I crouch slowly to see if she's is crying but she 's not.

“So Stacy a-”

“Just drive.” I nod and drive silently towards school. And just like that the seriousness is back. Somewhere at the back of my mind I think of how many alarms are ringing for this strange girl. Whether to stay away from her or chase my curiosity or maybe both, I don't know. I don't know anything about her.

Notes

Heyy people!
I'd like to apologize for two things- For the late update, for those who were waiting (anyone?) and also I will be going to my grandma's place for a week or so and then going somewhere else with my family to the yet-to-be-decided-place.
So the next update will be around mid-may, in case you wanted to know ^^

So... what might Kellie have told to Stacy? Any idea? Can you see, she really doesn't have anywhere to live, where might she go If she leaves Stacy's apartment?

I hope you liked the chapter and I'll see y'all in the next chapter! :D
