~ The Sun will Shine Again ~

Star's P.O.V.~

I wake up in my bed, tangled in the deep red sheets. I rub my eyes and stand up, sleepily sliding my glasses on my eyes. I nearly crawl in the kitchen, seeing Xander passed out on the couch, I smiled softly and shook my head, making myself a cup of Spicy Cinnamon Chai Tea in my black mug that turns into a red Zelda Heart when it's hot.

I heard a loud groan and a thump behind me. "Miss your bed again Xander?" I teased, stirring sweet cream into my tea. He replied by flipping me off and dragging himself to the bathroom. I curled my legs under me on the cushioned couch. I turned on the news, sipping the steaming tea in my cup.

Xander and I moved in together when I was 20, him being 19, and have been inseparable since we've met. He works for AP Magazine, meaning he helps interview the bands and artists for their own specific page depending on who's on the front cover. While I haven't exactly gotten an exact career yet, though I do make good money as a bartender at the Villains Tavern. I heard the shower turn off, making me gaze up at the door. Xander came out in his typical ripped, grey jeans and a plain white t shirt covered with a grey vest.

"So I have some good news." He announced, running his fingers through his hair and sitting beside me in the sofa. "And what could that be?" "My manager got me set up to do an interview with a very popular band, said that've been around for at least five years now." I stared at him wide eyed. "Really? Oh my gosh I'm so happy for you! What band is it?" He huffs and playfully rolls his smokey eyes. "That's the thing. I don't know. She wouldn't tell me, it was just a last minute kind of thing." "Well either way, I'm very proud of you." I hugged him quickly before running into the kitchen and setting my mug in the sink.

"I have night shift tonight, so we have all day together." I said calmly, knowing he doesn't approve of me going to the bar at night. He says that's when all the "creeps" come in. "Star.." He drags my name out, giving me a disapproving look. "I know, but listen. Haley needs me to help her tonight. I'll be careful I promise. I know how to throw a few hits if I need to." I winked, earning a grin from him. "Alright, as long as you promise to be safe and have someone with you at all times." I nodded in agreement and brushed my burgundy, waved hair.

We walked the streets of LA, earning looks from all around. Though I was never sure why, this is LA, a lot more people have walked these roads than we have with tattoos and piercings. I snuggled into my jacket, smelling the sweet scent of rain in the spring. He wrapped his arms around me in a brotherly manner, walking to the café around the corner. "Wanna see if Kate wants to meet us here? I haven't seen her in awhile." He shrugged and turned to the doors. "Sure, why not?"

She met is here within 20 minutes in purple leggings, a black half sleeved shirt, and a black scarf detailed with little Suns. I gave her a tight hug and sat down across from her. "Hey Star, Xander." She greeted, automatically ordering a small lattè with extra whipped cream. "How's everything?" I started off with. "Same as when you left, Jennifer and Gabby just left an hour ago." That's one thing that was different about the two of us. While I was little miss prey of the preps in high school, she's little miss popular.

"Oh, well Xander got an interview with a popular band, not sure who though." Her eyes nearly lit up. "Can I meet them too? Or at least get them to like, notice me somehow? Can you tell them I said hi?" She did quickly, getting more excited. "Kate, we don't even know what band it is. I don't even think I'm going to meet them." Xander looked at me in amazement. "Are you kidding? Star you're going to be right beside me." I smiled gently and thanked him. "Then yes Kate, I'll get a signature."

The day came and gone and now I was off to work. I was dressed in black slacks and a black v neck with my maroon vans. I pulled my hair into a tight ponytail, pulling out my bangs so they're slightly in my face. "Be careful, I'll see you in the morning." He kissed my cheek and waved me off before tossing me my bag filled with a water bottle, ibuprofen, and girl necessities. "Thank you, love you, bye." I slammed the front door and jogged down the steps, climbing into Xander's car.

I've poured over a dozen shots at least to the group of men across me, leaning on each other to keep their balance on the stools. "I think you boys have had enough for tonight." I said half sternly, have teasing. "I think you should mind your own damn business beautiful." One of the guys slurred, hiccuping. "Alright, that's enough. Go home safely okay?" "Yeah yeah, whatever." They stumbled out the door and finally, 3:00 hit. I could go home. I went to the back and said goodbye to everyone, grabbing my bag and leaving to the car.

I sneak in the front door, careful to not let it squeak. I peaked in his room, seeing Xander sprawled out on his bed in just his boxers, snoring softly. I tore off my shirt and pants, climbing under my warm comforter and falling asleep. For the past few years my dreams have been nothing but normal. No mother, no nightmares, and no boy with bright blue gems as eyes and raven black hair.

Notes

Shorter chapter, but I wanted to start off with a nice beginning of how Star's life is, four years after she moved to LA.
