Chapter Eighteen: Visions

Kitty Alexis Sola sat in her bedroom, Ashley passed out in his wolf form on the bed beside her, her brother Devin, also in wolf form, asleep on a mattress on the floor at the other end of the room. It had been two days since the Graveyard battle and so far they had gotten nowhere in finding Vixen, and she was beginning to grow restless. Hence the not being able to sleep.
Kitty sighed before getting up silently and tiptoeing out of her room, careful not to wake Ashley or her brother. She went to the door beside her own and gently knocked before opening it, peeking her head inside the room and taking a moment for her eyes to adjust and see through the dense and normally unseeable darkness. "Andy? Are you awake?"

A creaking noise was heard from the far end of the large bedroom and Kitty heard the sound of paw steps coming towards her. Soon after a pair of bright, reflective ocean blue eyes cut through the darkness and Kitty realized that Andy was in his wolf form. She smiled warmly at him as he padded up to her and nudged her hand. "What are you doing up little sister?" he asked, his voice entering her mind smoothly. She smiled at his nickname.
Andy had been calling her his "little sister" since Ashley and her found out they were mates. Her guess was, it was because of the pack bond he and Ashley shared, making them brothers in a way, and seeing as she was mated to Ashley, that now made her his sister. All in all she liked the nickname, and she didn't mind having more family.

"I couldn't sleep," she whispered, opening the door wider and crouching down in front of him. Andy licked her cheek in a way of telling her he understood. Kitty smirked. "I came to see if you didn't want to go for a walk with me, get some air you know?" Andy turned his head to the side as he contemplated her offer. After a moment her gave a huff in agreement before padding out of the room and up the stairs. Kitty smiled and grabbed her jacket- Andy's too in case he shifted back- before following.


Kitty walked with Andy, now back in human form, side by side through the forest like yard that made up the backyard of Faith and Vixen's home. The silence was comforting to both the Alpha and the Witch but Andy knew there was something on Kitty's mind, and the real reason she'd asked him to walk with her must have been to talk about it. Whatever it must be, Andy had a feeling she either couldn't speak to Ghost and Ashley about it...or wouldn't. "So," Andy began, stuffing his hands in his jeans pockets. "Wanna tell me whatever it is you don't wanna tell Ghost and Ashley?"

Kitty tensed. Damn, she'd been keeping her thoughts scrambled so, if he decided to take a peek inside her mind, he wouldn't catch that she was hiding something. Apparently he hadn't needed to though. After a moment of silence Kitty sighed and sat down on a fallen tree, Andy crouching in front of her. "It's a little complicated and even if I told Devin I don't think he'd believe me," Kitty muttered. Andy raised a questioning brow, urging her on.

"Okay, so have you heard the rumors about why my parents were killed?" Andy's eyes widened for a moment before he nodded. He hadn't expected Kitty to mention her parents. "So you know that Vegas and his pack were looking for Morgana's Ring?" Andy nodded again wondering where the Hell Kitty was going with all of this. "Have you heard anything about what that ring can do?" Andy shook his head still confused. "All I've ever heard was that it was a powerful magical object once worn by the sorceress Morgana Pendragon and it has some bad ass freaky powers sealed within it. Why?"

Kitty sighed. "An ability my family has, a sort of witchy power only the females of our line seem to get, is that we can receive short glimpses- or visions- of both the future or the past, depending on what's happening around us when the visions are triggered." Andy stared at Kitty in amazement. There was something you didn't hear about every day. "Okay? So, what does any of this have to do with-"

"What I'm going to tell you?" Kitty finished. Andy nodded. "One was triggered last night when I was reading my grandfather's journal," Andy tensed at this. This could be either good news or bad. "What happened in it?" he asked. Kitty sighed. "It was a glimpse of the past. A glimpse that I believe explains why Vegas and his pack went after my family." Kitty took a deep breath before she began.

"According to what I saw, Vegas worked for the Council. He was some sort of, I don't know, I guess he was kind of like a police officer for the Council," Kitty shook her head, clearing her confusion and getting back on track. "Anyways, when I caught the glimpse of that time in the past, I saw Vegas and a few of his pack mates, all wearing the official council law enforcement uniforms and-"

"Wait," Andy interrupted holding up his hands to stop her. "How do you know they were law enforcement uniforms? Or that Vegas was on the High Council's payroll?" Kitty huffed. Apparently Andy didn't know EVERYTHING about her family. "My parents were High Council members Andrew," she said, using his birth name. Andy blinked at her in surprise. "Oh." Was all he said.

Kitty rolled her eyes. "Back to my point. In the vision I saw Vegas and his pack working on a profile, my guess is it was a person who broke council law and they were being sent out to hunt. They were talking about the man who was convicted, a werewolf name Jeremy Strifer, and how he had tried to sexually assault a High Council member and then rob her of her possessions."

Andy raised a brow at this as he went to sit beside her on the fallen log. While as disturbing as those crimes may have been, the council normally didn't release they're dogs out on their kind for petty crimes like sexual assault or robbery, even if it was a council member themselves that got targeted. They normally left things like that to the human police. So what had been different?
He hadn't realized Kitty had been listening until she answered his question. "It was my mother. She had been Strifer's target." Andy's eyes were wide as saucers. He didn't have to ask how she knew of that, her expression showed it all. She'd been there. "Yeah I had. I'd been there when my mother came home battered and bruised. As it turns out, Strifer was after the pendant my mother wore."

"Why?" Andy asked. Kitty smirked and looked him dead in the eye. "Because my mother was the one who was wearing Morgana's Ring. She was its human protector." Andy stared at Kitty in shock. "Say what now?" he stuttered. Kitty nodded. "No one but the council knew what it was my mother wore. I was next in line to be its protector. But that was because Devin and I didn't know about Vixen...

"As for Vegas and the vision. From what I saw, someone grabbed him a file on what it was my mother had been wearing and what it was Strifer was trying to steal. This of course intrigued him. And so he began to look up the lore on the ring. My guess from what I saw was that when Vegas found out what the ring could do, it...corrupted him, in a way. And so he turned his attention to the ring. He picked up Strifer and tortured the guy. Got any information he could. And then the hunt began for my family."

"So the asshole just wanted power?" Andy asked. Kitty shrugged. "Who truly knows? According to records, Vegas and his pack mates were model wolves, always obeying the laws and following the Council. But Morgana's Ring...Andy it does things to people. If they have even a hint of darkness in them, the ring will twist it, make it and that person, into the darkest being you've ever known. If the person is pure of heart, no harm shall come to their soul. Its just the type of curse Morgana's powers had."

Andy sat there, absorbing all that he had just been told. He looked over at Kitty, confusion now in his face. "Why are you telling me this?" he asked. Kitty sighed and laid her head in her hands. "Because I had another vision, of the future this time. Andy," Kitty raised her head and stared into Andy's ocean blue eyes, fear swimming in her honey brown orbs. "Because I saw that the Ring was found Andy," Kitty whispered. Tears then began to form before streaming down her cheeks. "That's not the worst of it though."

"What could be worse than Vegas getting control of a ring that could give him total and utter control of the whole fucking world?" Andy growled. Kitty may not have said that it was Vegas who found the ring, but it didn't take a genius to figure it out. Kitty's eyes were wide as saucers as she stared at Andy, pure terror clouding them now. This couldn't be good...

"Death, Andy. I saw Death. And it's coming for my sister."



Author's Note (First Update 11-19-15):

Okay I know that's probably a really shitty place to end it but hey I had to get a little bit of what was going on with Kitty in there. I scrapped this chapter at least four times before I came up with this draft. Originally I was going to go for a type of chapter of like what I did in Sixteen at the beginning but in the end it started turning out all wonky so I went with this direction instead. I literally had to force this one out guys so sorry if its not so good. I know it could be better and hey maybe I'll get a chance to revise it later but for now...this steaming pile of chapter is what I got so...yeah...sorry again...

Author' Note # 2 (Revised Updated 11-24-15):
Hey guys!
So, I'm up here in Hayward with my boyfriend Jon for the week, and while he's off at work during the days, I'm here at home, chilling with his sister Heather (aka Cimorenie Lithanderall on Facebook lol) and working on Children of the Moon while Cimorenie played Jon's new Fallout 4 video game haha. I finished up chapter twenty (yeup I've gotten that far haha) just a few minutes ago and then I realized something. I still hadn't revised this chapter here! So I quickly opened this one's document up went to the area I needed to revise, erased the whole bit (it was stupid anyways haha) and came up with what we have now. Unfortunately I will only have up to chapter twenty done at least for the next few days because I have to wake up at 7am tomorrow so I can wake Jon up at 7am tomorrow >.< its all really annoying and confusing and I don't wanna get up that early!!!! *flails and whines* lol just kidding.
anyways my lovelies, I will see you soon (I hope lol).
