He Has A Heart Of Fire

Soap and Lavender

The next few days flew by, and before we knew it, it was the day before we were due to go on tour.
Our equipment had all been delivered and I was beginning to pack. Andy and I had started moving my stuff into his apartment, along with the help of Taz, but we agreed we'd finish when the tour ended.
Andy walked into our bedroom that afternoon to find me sat next to my empty suitcase, half way through reading The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong.
"Come on, you. I'll help you pack." he smiled, holding my hands and pulling me off the bed. I got up with a huff and opened a drawer next to our bed while Andy opened the wardrobe.
"Are you looking forward to the tour?" he asked, taking all of my clothes and beginning to fold them. "You've been off the last few days."
"Just nervous I guess," I replied, rolling up a bunch of underwear from the drawer.
"You have no need to be nervous, you're an amazing singer and anyone who has seen you has loved you," he assured me.
We spent the next hour packing, going through my checklist twice.

To be honest, I had been feeling a bit off lately. I just felt really run down and tired, which could be due to nerves. I was actually nervous, but I wasn't 100% sure that was it.
I decided I needed to relax before tomorrow. It would not be a good idea to go on tour all tired and tense. I needed a 'me' day.
I told Andy where I was going and he completely understood, giving me a gentle kiss before I left, insisting that I took his car seeing as mine had been playing up recently.

I hopped into Andy's mustang, rolling the roof up before driving off. I went to a small massage place my aunt owned near mine and Taz's apartment.
"Hey, Aunt Jennifer," I walked in and greeted her.
"Autumn, baby! I haven't seen you in so long, look at you!" She held my arms out and looked me up and down before hugging me tightly. Aunt Jennifer is my dad's sister. We were really close when I was growing up, and I even lived with her for a while, but we haven't spoken for a few weeks. I guess I've been too busy.
"I've come for a massage," I smiled.
"Of course, of course! Come through to the back, on the house!" She led me through to a back room with a bed inside, shelves on the walls full of oils and incense. "New tattoo?" she asked, noticing my newly inked arm.
"Yeah," I moved my arm to show her properly. "I got 'lost at sea' for my dad... I thought it fit with The Little Mermaid too." Aunt Jennifer didn't say anything, just placed her hand on my cheek and smiled at me warmly. She missed my dad just as much as I did. Sometimes it hurt to see her because I could see him in her face.
I changed into a towel and lay down on the bed, Aunt Jennifer starting to rub some oils into my back.

"How's the band going? I haven't seen you since you started it" she asked.
"It's going great," I told her. "You know the band that was training us?"
"Mhm," Aunt Jennifer replied, concentrating on my back.
"Well, they're taking us on tour with them. A birthday present to me from the lead singer."
"That's one hell of a birthday present! I bet you anything that he's into you!" she squealed.
I laughed lightly. "I suppose you could say he is, he's actually my boyfriend. We've been together about a month, and I'm in the process of moving in with him." I explained.
She went silent for a minute and then changed the subject. "It's a good thing you're going on tour. She's getting out soon."
My heart dropped. I'd have to tell Andy about my mother sooner or later, but just not today.

I thanked Aunt Jennifer and headed back to the apartment.
I opened the door to see the room lit by candles, and a path made from Skittles leading out of the room. Andy was nowhere to be seen.
I placed my things on the counter and followed the path, which led to the bathroom. I opened the door.
Andy was stood inside with a big bunch of roses, bubbles filling the bath behind him. The room smelt like soap and lavender and was also lit by candles.
"You needed to relax," he smiled. "Have a bath, take as long as you need. Then, you're getting pampered." He kissed my cheek and left the room. He could be so romantic, I really didn't deserve him. But to be fair, this was exactly what I needed.
I stripped off and stepped carefully into the bath, which was hot enough to sting a little, but I didn't mind.
I noticed Andy had left my book in here for me, on top of the toilet. I reached for it and began to read it as I soaked in the hot water.
I finished the other half of The Summoning, the bath turning cold by the time I finished it. I was already feeling a lot better.

I left the bathroom wrapped up in a towel to find Andy. He was in the living room with a bunch of beauty products on the table.
"Okay, the bath, I get. But there is no way you've planned this by yourself."
He laughed. "You got me. Taz brought some stuff over and told me how to use all of it."
Andy put our favourite Frank Sinatra album on before putting a face mask on my face. He even had slices of cucumber for my eyes!
While I relaxed, I had my feet up on Andy's lap while he gave me a pedicure, painting my nails black. Every so often I heard him curse under his breath, making me giggle.
By the time my nails had dried, I had dozed off. Andy woke me up, cleaned my face up and took me off to bed, changing me into my pyjamas first.
My boyfriend is so good to me.

Notes

I was crying when I wrote the bath scene, not going to lie!
Also, Aunt Jennifer is named after my mum!:)
