Epilogue 7
I sit at the table waiting. He missed another dinner. I take another swirl of wine. I hear him slip his key in the door and then him open the door.
"So where were you this time?" I ask as he approaches the table. "Taylor I'm sorry. We were shooting a music video and the camera kept malfunctioning. It won't happen again."
I watch my wine swirl in the glass. "You said that last night. And the night before. And the night before that." I say glaring at him. He sighs and drops his bag. "What do you want me to tell you Tay? I'm sorry."
"You know the words are nice but so are the actions Andy. The kids are asking why you aren't at dinner anymore. And it kills me every time!" I say standing.
"Taylor it's not my fault! I try. I really am! But this is really hard!" I chuckle. "Yeah, well it's hard for me too! And I want you to help me! I can't do this all by myself! I watched my mother do it and I will not do it." I say, my voice cracking.
I wipe away tears and clean up the spilt wine. I gather up the broken glass. Gosh I need to get my powers back under control.
I feel hands grab mine. I look up into Andy's blue eyes. "Taylor, I'm sorry. I'll try harder. I promise." I nod. "I-I just want you home. I just want to have a dinner as a family. I watched my mom do it all on her own for most of my childhood. I can't go through it again." I say crying.
He wipes them away and pulls me to his chest. "I'm so sorry Tay. How about tomorrow we all go out? I'll stay home and we can have a family day?" I nod and hug him tighter. "Mommy? Daddy? Why are you crying?" Michael asks holding Sasha's hand. She has tears in her eyes.
I smile. "I was just a little sad. It's okay. Me and Daddy were fighting a little." Sasha starts full out crying. "Oh baby come here." She walks over and I pick her up into my arms. "I don't want you to fight." She says stuttering.
Andy brushes a curl from her face. "Baby it's only natural. We are going to fight. But we will always work it out because we love each other." Sasha nods, she struggles to stop crying. Michael walks over and sets his hand on Sasha's shoulder.
"It's okay. Mommy and Daddy are better now." I smile and I wrap my arm around him. "Yes. And tomorrow we are having a family day. Just us. Would you guys like that?" They both nod.
Jackie comes running over and wiggles his way in between Andy and Sasha. We all laugh and I let go of Michael. "Okay you guys go pick out a movies and I will finish cleaning this up." Sasha and Michael run over to the TV.
Andy grabs me by the cheek. He kisses me and I wrap my arms around his neck. He pulls away and smirks. He then quickly runs over to the kids to help them pick out a movie.
I roll my eyes and finish cleaning. I pick up Jackie and walk over to the group. "What did we pick out?" Michael holds up Stitch. "Well let's put it in. This is a very important movie." They giggle and Andy puts the movie in.
The two then scramble onto the couch. Andy walks over and sits next to me. I sit in his lap and lean my head against his shoulder. Michael lays against my side and Sasha sits on my lap. I set Jackie on her lap and Andy starts the movie.
I pick up Michael and Andy holds Sasha in his arms. I kiss her head and he kisses Michael's. I walk into Michael's room and tuck him in.
I sit on the bed and take my hair out of its bun. I slip off my shoes and my jewelry. Shaking out my hair I take off my sweater. "You are so beautiful." I look up and see Andy walking over. He smiles brightly and strokes my cheek.
I lay down. "God I am so tired. Do know how phone calls I got from your mother today?" He chuckles and lays down next to me. "How many?" I run my fingers through my hair. "Five. It was all about when we are coming over for thanksgiving." He chuckles.
He grabs my hand. "I love you." I smile. "I love you too." He smiles at me and I sit up. "Well I'm gonna shower and go to bed." He smirks. "Can I join?" I laugh and walk into the bathroom. "Not tonight. Sorry babe." I say and shut the door. God I love him so much.
I step into the shower and shut the door. I feel the water run down my back and sigh. I feel a hand touch my shoulder and jump. I turn and see Andy. I sigh. "You asshole. You scared the shit out of me." He laughs.
"What are you doing in here?" He shrugs. "I decide we need to save more water." I laugh and he kisses me. "Plus we haven't had a lot of us time." He sets his hands above my head and kisses me again.
"I love you so much. And you are so weird." I say between kisses. He chuckles. "I love you too. And you love my weirdness." "Point taken." How in the world did my life get so perfect?
