Epilogue 1
I wake up and look at the time. Ten thirty. I look over and see Andy sleeping soundly. I slowly climb out of bed and grab my phone and Bluetooth speaker. I slip on my nightmare before Christmas slippers and walk into the kitchen. I turn on pandora and put on Ryn Weaver's station. I turn it down and grab the milk from the fridge.
Grabbing the muffin mix, pan and measuring cups I walk over to the counter. I grab the scissors and open the mix. Grabbing a bowel and setting it on the counter, I pour the mix in with milk. I slowly fill each little hole and preheat the offen. I set the muffins on the ledge thing and close the door. As I set the timer I feel arms wrap around my waist and a head rest on my shoulder.
"Good morning." I say smiling. He kisses my shoulder and sighs. "Good morning. What are you making now?" I laugh and turn to face him. "It's a surprise." He smiles and groans. "No. You've been surprising me with food all week. Just let me know this one." I throw my head back laughing. "No. It's a surprise." He pecks my nose. "I am starting to hate that word."
I dance out of his grasp as The Fool by Ryn Weaver comes on. I turn up the music and step onto the counter, singing along to the lyrics. "What are you doing?" I shrug, dancing randomly. "But you know I'm a fool for you." I sing out pointing at him. He laughs, just watching me dance.
I lay down onto the counter and grab his hand. He smiles and walks over. He sets a hand on my back and traces the scar from where I was stabbed. A sad look crosses his face. "Hard to believe that was all about a month ago." He nods. I smile at him. "I think it's rather groovey. Don't you think?" I ask in a English accent. He laughs. "Yes it is quite savvy." He says in a pirate voice. I laugh and turn over onto my back.
"I love you." He says. "I love you too." I say tracing the lines on his hands. He strokes my cheek lightly. The timer goes off and I sit up and slip off the counter. Grabbing oven mitts I pull open the door and turn off the offen. I pull onto the mitts and then out the muffins. Shutting the door, I shake off the mitts. Lemon Poppyseed Muffins. I smile at them and turn to Andy.
He tries to get around me. "No. You have to wait. Go back to bed. I'll be right in." He groans. "You better be." He says and walks away to the bedroom. I laugh and turn back to the muffins. I sit back up on the counter to wait.
Pulling out two muffins I set them on a plate. Walking back into the bedroom, I take off my slippers and set my phone on the table. Andy smiles and sticks his hand out. I hand him the plate and climb into bed next to him.
He wraps an arm around me and I turn on the tv. It turns onto ABC where reruns of Fresh Off The Boat play. Perfect. I take a muffin and start to eat it. Andy kisses my head and chuckles. "I love you. How could someone so perfect be mine?" I smile and look up at him. "Wow. Did you just read my mind?" He laughs and pecks my lips. I love this.
