Finding Grace

"Him", "Her"

"People are so excited for us," I commented, glancing at the EFG twitter; it had been going crazy for the past week, and I knew BVBs was doing the same.
"Of course they are," Andy flicked a toy as we walked through the baby store, both of us feeling awkward. "We're awesome."
I snorted, glancing over the tiny baby clothes, grimacing at the prices.
My eye caught on a yellow baby onesie, a little giraffe on the front, and I lifted it off the rack, Andy ambling to my side, hands in his pockets.
"Isn't it cute?" I gasped, holding up the tiny outfit. I pressed it against my stomach.
"What do you think, baby?" I asked thoughtlessly. "Do you like it?"
"I don't think he wants to wear a yellow outfit," Andy chuckled, "he won't look tough."
"It could be a girl," I reminded him, draping the outfit over my arm; it was too cute to pass up.
Andy chuckled, following me around the store while I picked out clothes that would work for a boy and a girl, and just a little pink tutu because it was just so cute.
"Look!" I cooed, picking up a white blanket with all the animals of Noahs Ark on it. "It's so pretty!"
"Yeah, and it's a hundred dollars."
"So?" I frowned, rolling it up and putting it in the basket he carried, it already overflowing with clothes and a few toys I'd picked up; this is why Andy didn't like going shopping with me.
And it wasn't like he was going to pay for it, so I didn't know why he was being so huffy.
"Leah, we don't even know what it is yet," he grunted as I tossed a pink dress at him.
"It never hurts to be prepared!" I told him, glancing over at a woman and her husband as they looked at a rack several rows over. I'd noticed they'd kept glancing over at us, whispering at each other.
They were making me uncomfortable.
They had to be in their thirties, and I was feeling judged.
Yes, I know I was young and pregnant, and Andy looked like a hooligan with his torn vest and massive amount of tattoos.
We didn't really fit in with the whole baby thing, I guess.
"I think we have enough," I said after a moment, and Andy raised his brows at me.
"You think? I lost feeling in my arm an hour ago."
I forced a smile at him as we went to the counter, the girl there giving us a smile, which lasted too long at Andy.
She looked away when I glared at her.
She started ringing everything up, and I shifted, my feet starting to hurt in my shoes.
"Youre total is three hundred and ninety seven dollars," the girl blinked, and I handed her my credit card.
"Don't you think you got a bit much?" Andy asked as she tried to hastily bag everything that waited, people coming to stand behind us.
"Of course not," I scoffed, handing him the bags. "She needs all this."
"He," Andy corrected, and I rolled my eyes.
"That baby is gonna have a lot of clothes," someone commented behind us, and I glanced back, seeing the judgemental woman and her husband; she had to at least be eight months.
I sent her a nervous smile, slipping my card into my purse.
"There you go," the girl said brightly, and I took the last large bag from her.
Andy was loaded down with the rest of them as we walked out of the store and into the parking lot, grimacing at the load.
"Leah, this is a lot. He won't need clothes till he's four," he muttered, and I chuckled, seeing our bus parked down the street; we had a couple days before we were to arrive at our next Warped destination, so we'd had time to hang around and shop.
"They grow quick, they need a lot," I told him.
"Excuse me!"
We paused and I turned, seeing the woman behind us waddling in our direction, holding a bag to us.
"You forgot this," she said, and I took it from her.
"Oh, thanks," I sent her a grateful smile; I wasn't surprised we'd missed one.
"Is this your first?" she asked, patting her large stomach; would I get THAT big?
"Um, yeah."
"Pregnancy is a wonderful thing, dear," she told me, chuckling. "This is our third."
"Oh," I blinked.
God, three?
"You two are so young to be expecting, but I guess you got married," the woman smiled. "It gets easier after the first couple years. Especially when your little bundle of joy gets here."
Andy shifted at the mention of marriage.
"You're so little yet," she continued, obviously not seeing how uncomfortable we both were. "wait until you get as big as me! I had quite the time getting my figure back the first time, it took me years!"
I looked down at my stomach, the round pudge poking against my shirt.
"But you'll probably be one of the lucky ones," she sighed. "Just like my sister; she doesn't even look like she's had kids! And you, you better be good to her," she suddenly warned Andy, twittering at him. "Especially after that birth! I spent almost an entire day trying to pop out our second one!"
I felt sick.
An entire day?
"Guys!"
We turned, seeing Ashley trotting toward us, shirtless.
I had never been so grateful to see him.
"You're gonna make us late, let's go!"
"Um, it was nice talking to you," I told the woman, my fingers numb from holding the bags. Her eyes were popping out of her head at the site of Ashley as Andy forced some of the bags at him, looking grouchy.
"You too," she practically drooled, amd Ash winked at her as we all started toward the bus.
"Don't! You'll make her water break," I muttered at him, and he chuckled in amusement.
We piled onto the BVB bus, Andy and Ash carrying all the baby bags to the back.
"Did you buy the store?" CC looked up in amusement, tugging out his headphones.
"I tried to," I sat down slowly on the couch. "Andy grouched the entire time we were there."
"He's just jealous you're not buying stuff for him now," Jake chuckled."I've seen you come in with bags like that and it be full of shit for him; he's like a kid at Christmas in July."
Was that his problem now?
I frowned, kicking off my shoes and curling my feet under me, feeling like I'd swallowed a beach ball.
I curled up around a pillow, pulling my phone out as the bus started up, cool air bursting over our skin.
Texas was a really hot state.
Andy came back into the front, sitting down at the couch and leaning his head back with a sigh.
"How was baby shopping?" Jake asked, grinning.
"She bought everything, even tutus." he mumbled, and I nudged him with my foot.
"They were cute tutus." I said, flicking through twitter.
"Your son is going to wear tutus?" Ashley laughed, leaning against the wall. "I can see it now."
"She might wear tutus," I told him; honestly I didn't care what it was, but with everyone being pro-boy, I wanted the girl to be wanted too.
"Maybe you'll have twins and both be happy."
We both grimaced.
"At least Andys clothes will fit you better, Leah," CC told me. "There's not gonna be any hang now with your little squirt taking up space."
"CC," Ashley frowned at him.
"It's fine," I sighed, propping my chin in my hand. "There was this woman st the store telling me it took her years to get her figure back. I'm done for."
"Nah, you'll still be a hot commodity," Ash told me, fishing through the cabinets for food. "A hot mama."
Andy scowled at him.
"Hand me the peanut butter!" I burst, seeing it.
Ashley hesitated, then pulled it from the cabinet and tossed it to me.
I fished through my purse, pulling out my pack of twizzlers.
"Seriously? Leah, that can't be healthy," Jake grimaced at me as I dipped the twizzlers in the peanut butter.
"I can't help it, I'm craving it." I muttered, enjoying the taste immensely.
"I would love some tacos," I realized. "Is there time to stop for some?"
The guys just looked at me, and I blushed.
"I don't see why not," CC said after a moment. "Tacos sound good."
"They do." Ash agreed, and trotted up front to the driver.
"Where are you even putting that?" Jake watched me eat my peanut butter twizzlers.
"I've seen her eat more then that and not pregnant," Andy chuckled, opening his eyes to glance at me. "I can only imagine now."
I wrinkled my nose at him.
"You have peanut butter on your face."
"Where?" I frowned.
"Cmere," Andy ordered, and I leaned up. Andy leaned forward, and his finger swept in the jar before he touched my nose.
"Andy!" I squealed at him, smacking his arm as he laughed.
I wiped hastily at my nose, Jake tossing the paper towels at us as he laughed.
"Clean it off!" I complained, and Andy quickly wiped at my face, chuckling.
"Don't be mean!" I told him, threatening him with a twizzler. "I will get you!"
"I'm sure you will, babe," he chuckled, pressing a kiss on my nose. "You and him both."
"Her," I corrected, and he rolled his eyes.
He tilted my head up and gave me a sweet kiss.
I sighed contentedly.
I hoped all our days went this well.
So why did I have such a bad feeling?
