"Hey, Ricky," I greeted, and Ricky Horror sent me a smile as he stepped up beside me in line for food.
"Sup, Kabinov?"
I rolled my eyes at him. He was the only one who ever called me by my last name.
"Where's Chris?" I asked, shielding my eyes from the sun. "You guys are normally attached at the hip."
"He's talking to Sabrina. I offered to get tacos." he shrugged, his long dark hair loose around his shoulders, the sunlight glinting off his lips piercings.
I raised my brows, but didn't comment, shuffling forward.
"So, you still with Biersack after he made out with his ex?" "Ricky!" I glanced around, hoping no one heard that.
"What? He did! And then he was a pussy about it," Ricky rolled his raccoon eyes. "Chris bitched about it for days."
"It wasn't that serious," I muttered, keeping my eyes straight ahead. "And yeah we're still together."
"Well, I would keep a tighter leash on him if I were you," Ricky warned me, as if he had any idea about out relationship.
I frowned at him. "It was just a slip up, he didn't mean too. I'm not gonna... Gonna punish him over it."
Though he probably would have retaliated at me if it had been the other way around.
"Okay," Ricky shrugged, standing beside me.
I sighed, glancing up at the sign. What did I even want?
I kind of wanted everything. Like I mean I literally looked at the sign and wanted to try one of everything, and I didn't even like peppers.
"What are you getting?" I asked. "I can't decide."
"Like fifty loaded tacos." Ricky grinned. "This place has the best. Last year at Warped the owner gave us a gift certificate because we ate here so much."
"Nice," I smiled. "What's your favorite?"
"Chicken quesadillas."
"Hey, that's what I usually get. It's a ---."
"Safety food," he raised a brow at me, and I felt a real smile come to my lips.
"You understand safety food?"
"Yup. I do it all the time." he bobbed his head, the breeze catching his hair and smacking me in the face with it.
I wrinkled my nose.
Well.
Ricky laughed, stepping away. "Sorry."
"No big deal." I sighed, but flashed him a smile as I stepped to the counter.
"One chicken quesadilla and two tacos," I ordered, rummaging around in my purse for my money.
"Ten twenty."
Yeesh. I handed the guy a ten, like basically all my money, and started to look for change.
"I got it," Ricky tossed the guy a quarter.
"Thanks." Well that had been nice.
The guy handed me a slip of paper with my number on it, and I went to one of the picnic tables to wait. Ricky joined me after a moment, plopping down beside me and flicking his hair in my face on purpose.
He laughed as I made a face at him.
"So the video has come out! Did you like it?"
"I haven't watched it yet," I propped my chin in hand. "I haven't had time."
"Has Biersack?"
I shook my head.
"Well, I have, and let me tell you, I don't know one guy who isn't jealous of Chris after they watched," he bumped my shoulder. "Like I didn't know you had tattoos until then!"
I flushed.
"It was so awkward. Me and Chris were both uncomfortable. It probably only looks good because you couldn't see our traumatized expressions."
"I dunno, that one expression you had was pretty intense."
I pressed my hands over my face, embarrassed.
"Can we not talk about the video?"
Ricky laughed at me. "Fine. Though you did look hot."
"She always does."
I raised my head out of my hands, seeing Andy standing not too far away from the table, his brows raised.
There was an awkward silence.
"Welp, I'ma go check on my food. Nice talking to you, Leah." Ricky quickly got to his feet and I sent him a smile as he left. Andy took his vacated seat, watching him go with narrowed eyes. "What was that about?"
"He was talking about the music video with Chris," I explained. "It's out now and everyone really likes it."
"Oh. I haven't had a chance to watch it." he looked a little apologetic, but as much sensualness was in that video, I didn't mind so much that he hadn't.
"I haven't either. It's not a big deal." I shrugged, and turned when I heard them call my number.
"I'll get it," Andy rose, leaving me at the table as he went to get our food. Technically he was to have met me earlier and ordered himself, but being Andy, he was late.
And he owed me five bucks.
Those tacos were expensive.
"Why were you late getting here, anyway?" I asked as he handed me my quesadilla. "I thought your show was over an hour ago."
"It was. I got caught up chatting with Ronnie and Jackie," he shrugged, unwrapping his loaded taco, the thing overflowing and bigger then his hand.
Of course he had.
"Sometimes I think you're dating Ronnie more then you are me," I sighed thoughtlessly, and he frowned at me.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Oops.
"Nothing, " I said quickly, suddenly no longer hungry. I looked down at the hot quesadilla. "You just spend a lot of time with him is all."
"I spend a lot of time with you too." he sighed. "Maybe not as much as I should be, but there's not a lot of time in the day."
"Yeah, I know."
I didn't want to fight with him, so I was going to let it go. Even though really I did just want to yell at him, because to be honest I was so still mad at him over Juliet, and Ricky mentioning it had brought all the hard feelings back up.
"Leah," Andy reached across the table, covering my hand. "You're still mad, aren't you?"
"Of course I'm mad. I'm not just gonna get over it like that." I snapped my fingers. "But I love you, so I'm gonna pretend that it didn't happen and then murder you in your sleep if I ever see you with her again."
Andy looked like he didn't know whether to be amused or scared.
I would just let him stew over that for a while.
