Our Family

"He doesn't look like me! Sure we both have blue eyes, but I look more like my dad!" I say.

"I wasn't trying to suggest that Matt's your dad, I'm sorry." Jack says and rubs little circles in my back.

"But what if he is my dad?" I ask.

"That would have meant your mom cheated on Andy." He says.

"No, Matt said my parents broke up for a short period of time . It wasn't until my mom found out she was pregnant that she got back together with my dad."

"Okay, well that does give him time to fuck your mom so you were born. I guess the only one who can answer who your dad is, is your mom."

"I guess you're right, just what if my dad really isn't my dad?" Now I'm practically in tears.

"Shh honey, does it really matter if you're his biological daughter? He's your dad either way, he's been there from the beginning and loves you so much. He is your dad no matter what, remember that." Jack wipes my tears away and I give him a big long hug.

"Uh Matt's gonna be here any minute, how's my face?" I ask.

"Do you want me to be honest?" I nod. "You might want to redo your face."

"Thanks for being frank with me."

I get up and go into my bathroom. I wash my face with cold water and dry it with a wash cloth. I reapply my makeup and walk back into my bedroom.

"You know what I just realized?" He asks and I shake my head. "You don't have a door."

"Yeah my dad took that away after the first time I 'ran away'." The doorbell rings. "Matt's here." I run downstairs with Jack right behind me as my dad opens the door.

"Dad who is it?" I ask.

"It's a box." He says. I open the door wider so I could see the six foot tall box on my porch. In sharpie it says 'To Andy and Lily'.

"Okay let's open it." I say.

"What if it's a bomb?" Dad asks and I look at him like 'really?'.

"Dad, I don't think someone would send a bomb to the house to kill us." I open a bit of the box and begin laughing uncontrollably.

"What?" Dad asks.

"What's in the box Little Biersack?" Jinxx asks.

"Do they seriously call you Little Biersack?" Matt asks in the box. I rip the box open enough for him to get out. "Tada!"

"Dad I forgot to mention, I invited uncle Matt to dinner." I say.

"Well come in, I ordered pizza!" Dad says. We all go into the living room and eat.

Time passes fast and it's already eleven o'clock. Jinxx and Jack have already left, now it's time to say farewell to Matt.

"It was great hanging out with you Man." Dad says to Matt on the porch. I walk out and give Matt a hug.

"Just call me and we can be idiots like how we used to be." Matt says.

"Idiots who dance through the street yelling KISS lyrics, sounds like a plan. See ya." Dad says and they bro hug. My dad walks into the house.

"I'll be in, in a second." I say and he shuts the door.

"What's up Lils?" Matt asks.

"Are you my dad?" I ask.

"What?"

"Everyone's commenting on how alike we look. So please just tell me the truth."

"I'm not your dad, your dad's inside. I never fucked your mom I promise you that. By the time I even met Jules, I had my girlfriend so it's kinda impossible." I hug him.

"Thank you, that's all I needed."

"I'll see ya later Lily." He says, gets in his car, and drives away.

I walk into the house, locking the door. I run into the living room, dad's sitting on the couch. I jump on his and hug him tightly.

"What was that for?" He asks softly with a chuckle.

"I just love you."
