Our Family

So I posted the pictures of Matt and me an hour ago and I have so many notifications.

"@LilyMonster hanging with @mattg00d"

"@LilyMonster @mattg00d and @AndyBVB and hanging out again!?!"

"Is it me or does @LilyMonster and @mattg00d look kind of alike?"


I put down my phone after reading the last tweet. Matt and me don't look alike! These people are crazy wrong. I decide to text Jack to see what he's up to.


Lily: Heyy

Jack: Hey, what's up?

Lily: Nothing really, but I was thinking about the band thing and you said there was already a drummer.

Jack: If you want, I can come over and talk to you about it.

Lily: I don't know, my dad was pretty angry about last night.

Jack: Tell him that when I come over he can be in the room the whole time.

Lily: I'll ask.


"Dad!" I yell. My dad peers in through the doorway.

"Yes." He says.

"Can Jack come over to talk to me about the band?"

"Uh sure, Jinxx is coming over by the way."

"Okay."


Lily: Okay, you can come over.

Jack: I'll be there soon.


"Lily," I look up at my dad. "Your mom wants you to call her."

"Why? So she can tell me another last minute decision of hers?"

"Just call her." My dad walks downstairs and I dial my mom's number.

"Hey mom." I say in monotone.

"Look I know you're still mad, but I have some news." Mom says.

"Bout what?" I ask.

"A few shows were cancelled so I'll be coming home early."

"How early?"

"I'll be back by next Friday."

"Why were your shows cancelled?"

"I was told it had something to do with a terrorist attack so my manager doesn't want me anywhere near there. I promise when I get back I'll make things up to you." That's what you always say but never do.

"Okay I'll see you when you get back."

"Love you Lilypad."

I hang up and get changed. I put on my Nirvana tank top and my black leggings. I put my hair in a high ponytail and put on some makeup. The doorbell rings, I run down and answer it.

"Hey." Jack says entering my humble abode.

"We're gonna be in my room." I yell to my dad who's sitting in the living room. Jack and I run upstairs and he tackles me on the bed.

"I kinda like being on top of you." He says and kisses me.

"It is kinda nice, but we're supposed to be talking about the band." I say and he sits up.

"You're right so ask me."

"Who's the drummer?"

"You know Kristen Cook, right?"

"You mean the nicest girl at our school? Yeah. She wants to be apart of a rock band?"

"Yeah, apparently her dad used to be one so he taught her how and now she wants to be apart of all of this."

"Okay, so what's the name?"

"I'm not sure yet, we still need a bassist."

"I would get lessons from my uncle Ash, but he'd probably be hitting on me the whole time and I'd get fed up and go eat."

"Which is why we need someone who already knows how to play bass."

"Well do you mind Austin?" I ask.

"Well I don't mind him, he's okay." He says.

"What if I ask him?"

"Text him now."


Lily: Hey, sorry to bother you, do you play bass?

Austin: You're never a bother, and yeah. Why?

Lily: Well I'm the lead singer for this band and we're in need of a bassist.

Austin: What kind of band?

Lily: Rock.

Austin: I'm in, let's talk at lunch on Tuesday.

Lily: Will do.



"Okay he's in." I say.

"Just another step closer to the dream." Jack says.
I look down at my phone, another Twitter notification.

"@LilyMonster, it was nice meeting you today. I'd like to come back to the house again soon" -@mattg00d

"@mattg00d, come back anytime, you can even come over for dinner tonight" -@LilyMonster

"@LilyMonster, wait what's for dinner?" -@mattg00d

"@mattg00d, pizza probably" -@LilyMonster

"@LilyMonster, when should I be over?" -@mattg00d

"@mattg00d you can come over now actually" -@LilyMonster

"@LilyMonster cool, let's try to surprise your pops!" -@mattg00d

"@mattg00d alrite!" -@LilyMonster



"Who's @mattg00d?" Jack asks.

"He's an old friend of my dad's." I say.

"Can I see what he looks like?" I nod and show him a picture of Matt and me. "Hmm"

"Hmm what?"

"He kinda looks like you."
