Free Bird

"Baby wake up, it's Warped Tour time!" I shout as I jump on the bed to wake up Ashley
He groans and rolls over. I keep jumping and when he still doesn't move, I give up and run to finish any last minute packing we have. Then I go into the kitchen and decide to start making a quick breakfast. When it's almost done I hear the floor board behind me creak.
"Oh so you smell food and you magically awaken?" I laugh
"Don't try to wake me up at 5:30 am and I won't object, besides I smelled bacon." he laughs right back
I roll my eyes and finish putting food on his plate, just as I am about to finish I feel his arms wrap around me and feel his warm breath on my neck. I close my eyes and melt into him. I had been living with Ashley for a few weeks and this was a normal routine. Once I open my eyes and sigh he kisses my cheek. I turn and hand him his plate. Piled high with pancakes, bacon, and toast.
"Damn baby." he says eyeing his plate
"Don't damn me mister. I just cooked the rest of the bacon so it wouldn't go bad while we were gone, and the pancake mix was also almost gone, so shush and enjoy your breakfast," I inform as I pour him a glass of chocolate milk, "might as well finish off the milk too. Oh and I finished packing your suitcase."
He just gives me that look "Do you have an off button?"
"Nope" I pop the p, and join him at the table





A few hours later we are getting on the bus, and claiming our bunk. We get all our things situated and the bus starts driving to the venue which isn't that far from here. Ashley plops on the couch and closes his eyes.
"Purdy whats up with you?" Juliet asks from her seat on Andy's lap
"Yea man you look sick." CC comments
"No, just full. This girl knows how to cook, and she made sure I didn't go hungry this morning." He says, never opening his eyes
Everyone looks at me and I blush.
"He acts like I fed him a cow..." I defend myself and explain how I didn't want things to go bad and stink up his house while we were gone
"Ashley you better not fuck up, she is a keeper!" Jake says from his seat
I notice the sadness in his voice, he and Ella just recently called off their engagement, and nobody saw it coming. Not me, the guys, or the fans...


When we get to the venue I have to go help set up the merch tent for tomorrow. When I get to the area where the tents are supposed to be I see a bunch of people. I accidentally bump into a girl with pink hair and snake bites.
"Oh I'm sorry." I say
"It's no biggy, there are too many people trying to figure out which tent is theirs and what boxes belong where," she states the obvious, "names Karlee. I'm working the BVB merch tent this summer."
"Me too. I'm Neveah."
"Wait? Thee Neveah? The lucky girl who finally stole Ashley Purdy's heart?" she asks excited
"Uh yea."
"Nice to meet you. I saw the video of you in Germany, you can sing girl. Thinking of pursuing it?"
"Nah, I'm actually in college to get a bachelor's in art."
"Oh, well you should. Annnnnnnnd we should start looking for our boxes." she laughs
We start digging and spend the rest of the day talking. Around 2 Ashley and CC come find me.
"Neva! Foooooooooooood!" CC shouts when he sees me
I give him a look and we laugh.
"We came to see if you wanted to join us at the catering tent for lunch." Ashley says
"Sure, just let us finish stacking up the boxes," I say picking up a box, "Karlee do you want to come with?"
"Um... sure."
They guys see we're "taking to long" and help us stack the boxes and drag us to the catering tent.
