Free Bird

"I gotta run actually I have class in ten minutes," Amelia explains in a rush grabbing her bag, "I'll come back at closing?"
"Sure"
With that she runs out the door and towards campus. Alan looks at me with confusion.
"I have been trying to get that girl to talk to me for weeks. What's your secret?"
"No secret, even if there was," I pause for 'dramatic effect', "a good magician never reveals her secrets"
Just then my phone dings. I look and see a photo from CC. I open it and it's him and Ash backstage drinking some shots before they go on. I snap a selfie and send it back with the message: Break a leg, well not literally, good luck. Tell the rest of the guys too, and tell Andy not to break ANYTHING! I hit send and put my phone down. I look up and see the shop is empty, so I decide to get a jump start on that English paper.

"Hello?"
"Don't break anything? Really?" Andy's voice says from the other end. I can tell he's trying to be serious but his laughter is trying to break through.
"Well lets see, you're missing a rib, you've busted your nose, you've messed up your face, shall I go on?"
"shut up!" he laughs then hangs up.
I laugh as I go back to typing my paper. The rest of the night is pretty boring. We had maybe two customers, and Amelia came back right as I was walking out.
"Hey sorry, group ran late." she explains
"Oh, ur late? I wouldn't of thought you were late"
We walk back to campus in comfortable silence.
