2 months later...

I have had an amazing time here in California. I am loving my new job, mostly because Alan, the barista from that first night, is super funny and helpful. I remember my first day he told me...
"You have nothing to worry about, if you work the night shifts, you will more than likely be so bored you'll have to take up sewing to occupy your time." he couldn't help but laugh at his own horrible joke.
I am enjoying spending time with Andy, and the rest of the guys who I finally met a week ago. Andy has been super helpful in my transition to my new life, and CC's constant daily joke texts help too. Jake and Jinxx are helpful in my search for a new "affordable" guitar so I can start playing again, and offered to help me re-freshen if I am a little rusty. Ashley on the other hand has kept a respectful distance and I can't understand why. I brought it up one night to Andy, who thanks to my new job, has become a regular at the diner every night.
"Do you know why Ashley is so stand offish around me? That is so not like Mr. Purdy." I asked as I handed him his usual large coffee with 3 sugars and 2 drops of creamer.
Andy just sat there for a second, and I could see in his eyes that he knew something, but all he did was shrug his shoulders and talk a longer sip of his coffee than humanly possible before changing the subject.
Now as I sit here listening to a preview of their new album, curiosity of my new best friend I can't help but wonder what I did wrong to the bass player to make him not like me at all. Just as I was pondering this the opening of my door made me remember I was getting my roommate today. I was so used to living by myself that sharing a room with someone was going to be difficult. But what I didn't know was just how difficult this was going to be...
"Oh GOD! I have to share a room with NOT!"
I turn my head in fright at the old high school nickname and look straight at the girl who is the cause of my eye... Hayley Winters!
