All I Can See Are These Flames Around Me

What did Ashley just say?

Am I hearing things or something? Because I don't think I heard him correctly.

Despite my dry mouth and throat I attempted to swallow, as if doing so would have allowed me to fully comprehend the words that Ashley had spoken. I wanted to say something to him, something that would prove him wrong. But no words came to mind. I love Nikki more than anything in this world, her and Caleb have become my world, how could he even question my love for either of them? And I know that once Nikki and I get a chance to sit down and really talk things through that our relationship will be back on track.

But even with all that being said, Ashley's words still cut through me like a fucking knife.

“What the fuck are you even talking about?” I finally managed to get out after a moment or two.

“What am I talking about? C’mon Andy! Isn’t it obvious that I fucking have feelings for Nikki and Caleb?”

What the hell is Ashley talking about? If he really had feelings for Nikki or the baby then he would never have said that he wished Nikki had gotten rid of Caleb. And he would never have forced her to have sex the second time. He also wouldn't have been all over her at Warped Tour either. Honestly, I don't believe that he even loves Nikki, let alone Caleb. If he did, he wouldn't have acted the way he had.

“You what?” I want Ashley fucking dead. How dare he say he has 'feelings' for Nikki and Caleb.

In an attempt to break out of Jake's hold, I threw myself in Ashley's direction. But Jake had a really good grip on me, so rather than breaking out of Jake's arms and killing Ashley I ended up just flailing around. Thanks, Jake.

“Yeah. I have feelings for Nikki. Get the fuck over it Andrew!”

Just as I was about to start yelling terrible profanities at Ashley, my phone began ringing. In hopes of buying myself a little time on a come back, I read the screen on my phone. I was slightly shocked to see the screen show Brit’s number on my phone.

What the hell is Nikki’s friend calling me for?

“Ashley, fuck off.” Just as Ashley was about to open his mouth I picked up my phone and held it to my ear. “Hello?”

“Andy, it’s Brittany.” My stomach clenched. Okay, this call probably isn't a good sign...

“Hi Brit. What’s up?” Glaring at Ashley as I spoke I couldn’t help but let my hate for him continue to run through my veins.

“I’s Nikki. She’s gone into labor.” My stomach just about fell out of my ass.

Caleb’s coming? He’s thirteen days early!?

“What!? Where is she?” Without even thinking I began to rush around trying to find my wallet, and the set of house keys I brought with me on tour. Jake and Ashley just watched me fumble around with strange looks on their faces.

It took Ashley as moment or two, but he suddenly understood why I was freaking out. And promptly began to do so as well.

“She’s at Good Samaritan Hospital.” Fuck, I don’t remember how far that is from where we live.

“Shit. Okay. I’ll be there as soon as possible. Tell her I love her.” Ashley and I made eye contact. I noticed that his eyes watered when he heard my last sentence.

“I will. Andy, please hurry.”

“I’ll try.” hanging up the phone I looked at Jake and Ashley.

“What happened?” Jake was watching Ashley and I with a worried look on his face.

“Nikki. She went into labor.”

“Fuck. Where the hell are we? And how the fuck are we getting there?” I laughed. We? When the hell did ‘we’ happen? I thought Ashley pretty much hated me for being with Nikki.

“We? Fuck no Ash I’m going to do this without you.” Ashley growled deep in his throat.

Even though Ashley was shorter than me that didn’t stop him from roughly grabbing my arm. Getting up in my face he growled deep in the back of his throat.

“Listen Andrew. I’m going. I don’t care if you don’t like that. It’s my kid too. And I intend to see Caleb come into this world.”

“No Ashley.” I growled back at him.

“Shut the fuck up Andrew. You’re wasting time. We need to go.” Even though I didn't want to let him come I knew deep down that there was no way of keeping him away.

“Fine. Hurry the fuck up because we need to talk to Jon.” Ashley nodded with a determined look on his face.

“Andy!?” Jake was still looking at us with the same worried look from earlier on his face.

“What Jake?”

“We’re at least a two days drive away from home.” I groaned. Shit, shit, shit. That’s just what I didn’t want to hear.

“Fuck. Sounds like we’re either flying or this bus is going to need to go way faster” A smirk tugged at Ashley’s lips as he began walking towards the front of the bus to find Jon

“Andy!” I groaned, Jake does realize that he’s forcing me to waste time right?

“What Jake!?”

“Good luck. Tell Nikki we love her okay?” Jake was wearing a small smile on if face.

“I will Jake. I’ll see you soon.”

Turning away from my friend, I followed Ashley into the venue that the bus was parked at. We need to get on a plane as soon as possible. From the way Brit sounded Caleb will be here sooner rather than later.
