An Angels Last Fall

Don't Fall Little One

Ciarra was never one to make close friends. She would have Angels she quite liked but they came and went. For a job description like hers she could not take her eyes off of earth. Severe punishment would be awaiting her if she ever failed. She had a friend a long time ago but he failed Heaven and was sent down. She never made it a point to search out for a friendship like that again.

Roy Kearns was about to play a very important part in God’s plan. That was her one man for this life time. He was such an importance that this time she was only awarded one man to look after. Protection was her middle name but the Devil wanted this man more than anything. The Watcher was never supposed to ask why. You did your job. When his deed was finished you were given more humans to look after.

Ciarra had been doing this since the beginning of time itself. She protected Job before her Father allowed the Devil to lay his hands on him. She was an important Watcher and often trained the new Angels in her art. She was also very powerful. She had to be to ward off any evils that came her way.

She loved her duty. She loved watching her humans live, love, and create. Music was her favorite art. So many emotions compressed into so few things. Classical was her favorite genre. She knew very little of earth but she knew about music.

She was sitting in the gardens with her guard off. She was listening to the sounds of a concert her human was attending. A play, she heard him say. It was beautiful. It was being sung in Latin. She knew every word. She smiled getting lost in her thoughts when she suddenly felt a stab through her chest. She sprung to her feet and looked down on Roy. He had fallen to his death. She was speechless. She stood in awe with her mouth open. She gripped her chest feeling the need to cry hysterically. She stuttered as an Archangel showed in front of her.

She looked to him with tears in her eyes. He was over two feet taller than her and much wider. She let her wings fall beside her as he continued to choke.

“Forgive me for I have sinned.” She let her tears fall.

“This will never be forgiven.” Raphael gripped her shoulder with his hand. He knelt down beside her and engulfed her with his wings. “Your ignorance has failed the Father. You will be punished for your deed.” His voice was harsh. She had never heard an Archangel talk like that to his own sister.

“Brother please, my duty lies with you here in Heaven.” She was looking into his eyes. Seeing hate him them.

“You belong to no one, Ciarra. I am ashamed to call you my sister. May the Devil have mercy on your soul.” With that it seemed like Heavens floors had opened and sent her failing.

Her wings and arms reached up to Raphael. Her hair blowing in her face. She reached a hand to him grasping at nothing. She let go…closing her eyes letting earth engulf her. She gasped out of pain as she hit the earth. Her vision was blurry. All she saw was blue in front of her. Her hands and legs were numb. But worst of all…her wings were gone. She gripped a handful of dirt and drifted off into pain.
