I'm Sorry
Oh shit. She heard me. I said it out loud. I just messed up. She backed up and looked at me wide eyed. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that outloud." I say. "Y-you love m-me?" She said. She started to tear up, and tears started to fall.
"No. No. Don't cry. Please just trust me. I'm not going to do anything. I was drink when I done that stuff. Please Blade. Please. I'll do anything. Just please, trust me?" I plead.
She stops crying and runs to me hugging me. I gig her back immediately. "Do you want me to tell John that you had an emergency and need to go home?" I ask. "Yes, please." I get out and my phone and text John telling him she had an emergency and that everything is fine, but I was driving her.
"Look, let me take you home. It's the least I can do." She nods and starts walking to get car. "I have to get my stuff." She says. I walk with her and she gets her phone and some other stuff.
She walks back to my car with me and I open her door for her. She gets in and I shut her door. She directs me too where she lives and I take her there.
I pull in her driveway and her place is beautiful. There are around 20 horses and there is a brick house. It's not huge, it's normal size. She must live alone.
I get out and open her door for her. "Thank you." "You're welcome." I walk her up to her door and I smile. "Thank you for taking me home." She says. "No, thank you for letting me take you home. I want you to trust me, and I want to try the hardest I can to earn your trust." She smiles.
Wow. She smiled. I swear she's beautiful. "I guess you want me to leave now, so I'll go." I turn around and started walking. "Andy?" I turn around. "Yes?" She looks off at the horses and to her house. "Would you like to stay and go horse riding? I could teach you some things. Only if you want to stay."
I smile "Yeah. I'd love to go riding." She smiles too. "Come on." She puts her stuff down in her house and puts her phone in her pocket. She races through the house and put the back door going to a nice stable.
She stops running when she gets out the door and walk to the stable. It's only around 50 feet away. "I never knew you liked horses." I say. "Yeah, horses have been a big part of my life. They helped me get through some stuff." She says. "I wish I was there to help you too, but I just hurt you. I never meant to. I just-"
"It's ok." We walked into the stable and there were 2 horses in there. A small pony and a horse. "This my horse." She says petting the black horse whose back was almost tall as me. "His name is Midnight. When he was just a little colt I got him. He was the first horse I got when I came here. He was abused by his owners. He was so broken, just like me and we put each other together. Learning how to trust again. Together."
"That's amazing. I've never heard of anything like that." I say. She nods. She gets a black saddle with some spikes and puts it on the post. She gets the sale blanket and bridle and does the same.
She brings Midnight out and holds a rope on his halter tying him to the wall. She puts the saddle blanket on and gets the saddle. She throws it up easily onto his back and moves the stirrups. "Will you hand me that strap so I can buckle this up?" "Yeah."
I walk over to the horse and grab the strap putting it under the house and handing it to her. She finishes and puts his bridle on.
"Now it's time to go get you a horse. Have you ridden before?" She asks. "Yeah. I thought about horse jumping at once, but I didn't get into it." She nods grabbing my arm and walking me to the fence. "You have a choice between a few types of horses. Do you want calm or energetic?" She asks.
"Energetic, but I don't want him or her to act out." "Ok. There is Scar, the black one with the big scar on his face, Cinderella the paint horse over there with the white splatters, or Spartan the Palomino." I go in the fence and start to interact with the three that she pointed out.
I really like Scar. He looks like Midnight, but I think Scar is a little bigger. I grab his halter leading him to the fence. Blade smiles. "This is Midnight's twin. It's pretty rare for a horse to have twins and nothing is wrong with them but these two made it. Poor little Scar was scared without Midnight at the shelter. They tried putting him with other horses but it didn't work, so I adopted him too."
I swear Blade has one of the biggest hearts one ever seen. She gets another black spiked saddle out and puts it on along with the blanket and bridle.
We both get on our horses and start walking them on the trail. "I'm sorry about at the restaurant. I didn't mean to say that out loud." I say. "It's OK. I just have one question." I nod. "Did you mean it?" She asks. "Yes. I cannot deny that my whole being is being truthful, and that my whole being loved you." She stops Midnight and looks at me.
I stop Scar right beside her and Scar sidesteps where he right next to Midnight. She leans over and puts her hand on my cheek. She leans in and presses her lips to mine.
I kiss her back. She put her arm around my neck. I pull away. "Blade, stop. You don't want to." She pulled back. "I'm sorry." She looks down. I tilt her head back up. "Don't be sorry. It's OK."
