My Reality

I'm over at Alexis's house getting ready. She curled my hair so it has more volume and I really like it. I just can't stop thinking about midnight. I shouldn't have told James anything, I should have shut my mouth and given up. Why did I tell James? He's not my boyfriend, I didn't even tell Andy, but I just broke down in front of James. I was just so comfortable in his arms. I guess he truly is my best friend.

"Okay you look beautiful, can we go now?" Alexis whines and I nod.

We grab our masks and she drives us to the school. When we get there, we put on our masks and enter the gymnasium. The room is so dark and the only lights are those disco ones. We get pulled into the dance floor and I lose track of Alexis. Everyone's grinding on each other, they're all so sweaty and hormone induced. I get pulled by the wrist out of the crowd and out of the gymnasium. The lights in the hall allows me to see it's James.

"You look gorgeous." He compliments me.

"And you're not even wearing a suit." I note pointing to the bow tie shirt he's wearing.

"Hey I make it work." We both laugh. "So are you going to give me my one dance with you for this evening?"

"I don't know, I might but I might not."

"Oh come on, I've got the groove, I'll bust a move; just try and stop me."

"All Time Low lyrics won't work on me sir."

"Just one dance with the fairest maiden of this school?"

"Fine."

I take his arm and we enter the gym. We danced to a few songs and James got me a drink. I take one sip of the punch and darkness fills my mind.




Andy's POV

I walk over to the punch bowl and notice James putting white powder into a cup.

"Dude what are you doing?" I ask making him jump.

"Okay I know this is a stupid plan but I'm gonna go drug your girlfriend." He says.

"What the fuck?" I ask ready to to hit him.

"Sam's back and sent her a letter. She wants to help get rid of him, but I'm not letting her anywhere near him. I need her as far away as possible while I take care of him."

"What are you going to do to him?"

"I'm not sure yet, but I hope God looks away."

"Will she get hurt because of what you're putting in her drink?" I ask, in a way I'm kinda giving him permission.

"No, she'll be fine. Though she might be paralyzed for a couple of hours. Might be good to take her to the hospital, just in case."

I nod and he walks back to her. She takes the first sip and slowly faints into his arms. I walk over and her from him. I move her into my English room and look after her while James takes care of the Sam problem.



Scarlet's POV

"Scarlet, babe please wake up, please be okay." Is that Andy's voice I hear.

I try to open up my eyes but fail at the attempt. I can't move my body, everything is numb, I can't even form a damn word to tell him I'm okay. But seriously, what the fuck happened? I was at the formal and all I remember is drinking the punch and feeling light headed. Was I drugged? Who drugged me? Did James drug me? But why? What would reasoning be behind doing so? My mind is surrounded by a constant darkness and I can't seem to find the light. Then two beams are formed in the dark that cast off some light. The light on the left is bright red and the one on the right is light blue. What is happening? Am I supposed to choose a beam of light?

"Yes, doing so will ultimately change your life." I turn around to see, Nicole?

"How are, sorry not how. Why you?" I ask.

"It's your messed up head, not mine." She notes and I nod."Now choose a beam of light."

"How am I supposed to choose?"

"The blue light can take you back to the life you had in that 'dream' of yours."

"And the red?"

"The red will take you back to your 'reality'."

"Why must you put quotation marks around it?"

"Because it's not necessarily your dream or your reality. Whatever fate you choose now will be your fate for the rest of your life. There's no going back. Just remember that in both decisions you have Andy."

"You're right, but I only have James in one."

"And you only have me in one."

"I do miss you so much Nicole. Fuck! What am I supposed to do?"

"Look, you'll be loved in whatever choice you choose tonight. You can pick me, Andy, Amy, Johnnie, and even baby Sam-"

"I think I might change the baby's name."

"Or you can pick Alexis, Ashley, Andy, and James."

"You're right, I only have one choice."

"Pick wisely, no one ever gets a third chance."

"I pick..."
