Let Shadows Die

Hope realized that when Andy had bitten her before his fangs hadn't been fully extended. This time they went deeper. Both sets were firmly locked in her skin. When they had first sunk in, it had stung badly. She fought the urge to cry out. Shortly after it had gone numb. It almost reminded her of those shots you get at the dentist.

After a moment the numbness begin to spread from her neck to the rest of her body. As the numbness spread, she started to feel her mind wonder. It was like she had been drugged. She couldn't get her mind to focus.

"Stay with me, Hope." She heard Andy's voice in her head. "I need you to stay with me."

She was trying to do what he was asking, but it was hard. She was beginning to feel weak and it was getting hard to breathe. She realized he was killing her. She was dying. She wanted desperately for him to stop. This had been a mistake.

"Hope, my love, I would never hurt you. I love you. Don't fight me now. It's almost over." Again hearing Andy's voice in her mind calmed her. She knew this already. How could she ever doubt him?

She could feel his love for her and she clung to it with every fiber of her being. She couldn't see anymore. She had gone blind. She felt something brush against her mouth. "I need you to drink, baby. Come on, you can do it"

This time she heard Andy's voice out loud. But her mind was muddled and she couldn't make sense of what he was saying. Something warm and thick was pouring into her mouth. She was already having trouble breathing. If she didn't swallow, she would drown in it. It wouldn't stop coming. More and more poured into her mouth.

At this point she couldn't feel anything only the thick liquid that kept flowing into her mouth. When it finally stopped she was sure she didn't have a body anymore. She couldn't see or hear anything. She was floating in a sea of silent nothingness. And then even that began to fade and she knew no more.
