Let Shadows Die

Hope watched as Andy took the man down. He was terrifyingly beautiful. It was like watching a cheetah take down it's prey. Of course Andy wouldn't kill the guy. He wouldn't even remember.

This is what Hope was thinking when the first hunter stepped from the shadows. Two more followed shortly after. They were all carrying odd looking weapons.

Things happened very fast after that. The leader of the men raised his weapon at Hope and pulled the trigger. Before she knew what was happening, Andy had knocked her out of the way. The stake, which had been meant for her, was lower on Andy. It struck him in the stomach. He fell to the ground and didn't move.

"Andy! Oh God, Andy!"

Before she could get to him, the three men were on her. Two of the men grabbed her arms and held her there. They forced her to her knees.

"This one is human, sir." one of the men said.
"Doesn't matter. She's obviously his mate. If we let her go, she'll only tell the others and we can't have that."

She realized they meant to kill her. Two of the men held her by her arms , exposing her chest. There was no way she could break free of them, they were too strong. As the leader struck out with the stake, Hope twisted her body to one side. The stake went through her shoulder.

The pain was excruciating and she cried out. The next thing she knew the two men had dropped her arms. Andy had woke up and he was pissed.

He was wolf out. He went for the leader first. He ripped the man's throat out. He dropped to the ground choking on his own blood. The second man tried to go for his weapon, but Andy was faster. He slashed his claws across the man's abdoman, spilling his intestines onto the ground. The third man tried to run. He made it to steps before Andy literaly tore his off.

Hope watched all this from where she lay on the ground. She watched as Andy shrank back into his normal self. He knelt beside her.
"Hope, baby, can you hear me?"
"Andy, it hurts." She said gasping.
"I know, baby. I'm gonna make it better. I promise."

With these words she was overcome by sleepiness and fell into a deep sleep.
