Sincerly, Rose ~ Andy Biersack

Ch.2

--Rose's POV--

Ring, ring, ring.

My eyes slowly but surely opened to reveal the dark morning. My first day of school at Camdon High. I yawned, sitting up and cracking my back. I flopped back down, unable to get up. I was just so tired...

I ran a brush through my hair and put on a little makeup for my first day.

"Dad!" I called. "Can we go?" I nervously played with the straps of my backpack. Did I have everything? Did I look okay? He appeared from behind the doorway and nodded, smiling at me a moment. I thought, maybe, I could see the glint of tears in his eyes.

Either way, I pretended not to notice and gave him a shy smile before heading downstairs. "Meet you in the car!" I shouted.

I watched the trees flutter past us through the window. I was nervous. Really nervous, to be honest. It couldn't be that different from Wilkenshire, could it? School is school, right? I felt my stomach cave inwards as I siked myself out. What if my teachers hated me?

"Are you excited?" My dad asked, waking me from my trance.

"Mhm." I said, holding my breath.

I was, in all honesty, excited. But I was also terrified. There were so many things that had gone wrong. I had been fairly popular at my old school, even though I was shy meeting new people. I made a mental note to try and be nice and smile a lot.

"I think you turn in here." I said to my dad, pointing to a dip in the curve that fed into the parking lot. The school looked big. Tan buildings and lots of small trees and benches. A pretty campus.

Butterflies seemed to swarm inside my gut, beating their wings against the inside of my stomach. My dad parked the car and looked over at me, smiling. He could tell I was nervous.

"I'll be here to pick you up. Good luck, I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I said, opening the car door and slinging my backpack around my shoulder.
I saw other people walking around, some of them talking with their friends. A tall, brown haired girl with neat, straightened hair and an American flag backpack.

Don't forget to smile, Rose.

I headed to the main office to get my schedule. We'd asked to get it a week before so I could walk around the campus and get used to where I'd be going, but apparently their printers were jammed.
The main office was a tan building with a red maroon roof, a small plaque reading 'Main Office' just barely left from two red double doors. I pulled one open and stepped inside.

A pudgy, short haired woman in a bright blue blouse was sitting at the main desk. I took a deep breath before speaking. "Hi, I'm here for my schedule?" I inquired shyly.

"What's your name?"

"Roselyn Merlinian. I'm a freshman."

She looked back to her computer, typing loudly. I played with my hands nervously.

"It's printing." She said, her face moving very little when she spoke. I smiled shyly. "Thank you!"

She handed me a half sheet of yellow paper and smiled fakely. I looked it over briefly.

Suddenly, the door behind me opened up, letting a blow of cold air on my back. I turned around to see a tall, very tall, boy with jet black, unruly hair. He wore black skinny jeans with a chain belt and combat boots, and a shirt with some band's logo on it.

"Oh, perfect, Andrew, can you please show Roselyn around her schedule?" The woman at the desk asked suddenly, speaking to him as casually as if she knew him.

"Yeah, sure." The boy, Andrew, said. He had a sharp, angular face and bright blue eyes. Upon closer inspection, he also wore a shining metal lip ring. He was intimidating, I thought.

I smiled kindly at him. He returned it slightly, but it was more of a half smirk.

I followed Andrew out the double doors. "I'm, uhm, Rose. Well, Roselyn, but most people call me Rose." I said awkwardly. He was very cute, as well. Not a bad first person to meet. Was everyone in Camdon this attractive? "Yeah. Cool." He said carelessly. "My first class is in B115." I said sweetly, trying to ignore his I-don't-care attitude. "Great." He said before walking in the opposite direction, turning the corner. I stood there a moment.

Was I supposed to follow him?

It didn't seem like it.

Not wanting to seem clingy, I wondered what I had done to upset him as I wandered around, trying to find B115.
