No One Does It Better

The next morning, Ashley and I headed over to Ben's so I could retrieve my belongings. I was anxiously waiting at the door with my left hand fixing my bangs when Ben answered. Ashley was with me as well, so when Ben saw us, he smiled a little.

"Morning, guys. What brings you here?" Ben asked.

"I need to get my things.." I said as I let my hand drop to my side. Ben nodded and let us in, and we followed him up the stairs and to his room. I collected all of my things with Ben's help, and Ashley handed me my phone, which I slipped into my back pocket.

"How was your night last night?" I asked Ben as I zipped up my suitcase. He sighed.

"It was fine... uh, how was yours?" He asked me as I stood up. Ashley took my suitcase and wrapped an arm around my waist. I smiled up at him and then looked back to Ben.

"We got engaged," I said happily.

"Woah! Seriously!?" Ben asked. I nodded and held my hand out to him. He observed the ring, and laughed.

"Wow. Congratulations, you guys. Good luck," Ben said. I took my hand back, and we headed back downstairs. Ashley and I left, and Ashley put my suitcase in the trunk of his car.

"Next stop: Andy's. Did you know that they're having the wedding in three weeks?" Ashley asked as we took off towards Andy's.

"Are you serious? They must want to tie the knot quickly then," I said as Ashley took my hand. He nodded.

"You're going back to school tomorrow, correct? Does Hunter even know you're staying here in LA?" Ashley asked, and my eyes widened.

"Shit! I forgot to text him. Lemme do that," I said. I released Ashley's hand to receive my phone out of my back pocket, and I called Hunter. He answered right away, sounding happy.

"Audrey! What's up?" My brother asked.

"Something big. I'm staying in LA," I said. Hunter was silent for quite awhile.

"What made you want to stay!?" He asked.

"Ashley did," I said. I switched my phone to the other ear and grabbed Ashley's hand again.

"What!?" He asked.

"You're starting to sound like Andy," I said.

"I thought he was dead," Hunter said.

"No. Andy just told a really cruel lie. Anyway, Ash and I are back together, and I want you to know that we're engaged and living together," I said. I heard Hunter sigh as he talked to someone that wasn't me.

"Don't you think you're moving a little fast? You just recently turned nineteen, Audrey. Marriage is huge for someone your age. After marriage comes kids. Do you think you're ready for that? I mean, you're still in high school," Hunter said softly. Then I thought back to the last time Ashley and I had had sex, which wasn't long ago. About two weeks ago, and I panicked.

"I've gotta go. Just mail my stuff to me. Goodbye," I muttered, and I hung up. Ashley glanced at me.

"What the Hell was that, Audrey?" He asked, "I heard everything your brother said." I sighed.

"I... uh. Nevermind. Forget it," I said. We arrived at Andy's, and Ashley helped me out of the car. We walked up to the door, and when I was in the living room, I approached Juliet and pulled her into my old room.

"What? What's wrong?" She asked with a worried tone.

"There's a chance that I might be pregnant," I said, biting my lip to keep the tears at bay. Juliet gasped and pulled me into a hug.

"I'll get you the stuff, babe. This can't wait," she said. I nodded, and she pulled me into a tight hug. We returned to the living room, and Juliet grabbed her purse and kissed Andy, telling him she would be right back.

"Where is she going?" CC asked me. I didn't answer, just sat down next to him on the couch.

"Okay, so Audrey and Ashley... you guys are back together now. What's new?" CC asked, and he pulled me against him. I replaced my worried look with a smile, and I met Ashley's eyes as I tapped my fingers on my knee.

"Well, we are engaged," Ashley said. CC looked at me and grabbed my left hand, gazing at my ring.

"You're serious.. Fuck, dude. Congrats!" CC exclaimed, giving me a big hug. I hugged him back just as tight, but for a different reason. Because I needed a hug.

The next ten minutes were spent with Ashley and I being interrogated by questions we didn't know the answers to. Juliet returned while this was going on, and she looked at me and I stood up to follow her back to hers and Andy's room, where she locked the door behind her. She took the box of pregnancy tests out of her purse, and she handed it to me. I took it with a deep breath, and I looked at it before deciding just to get it over with. Juliet turned around to give me some privacy in the adjoining bathroom as I did what I had to, and then I had to wait two minutes.

It was a painstakingly slow process, even though two minutes really isn't that long. And when the timer on my phone beeped, I quickly picked up the test and looked at it. My heart leapt, and my eyes stung with tears.

"What does it say?" Juliet asked. I met her eyes.

"It's positive," I said. She rushed over to me and pulled me into her arms for a comforting hug. She took the test from me and wrapped it up in a tissue before throwing it away. We both washed our hands and I calmed down before we left the room. What was I going to tell Ashley? But I decided I wasn't going to tell him. Not yet, at least.

"There you two are. We missed you," Ashley said. I smiled at him as he patted his lap. I sat down and kissed him softly as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"What were you two doing back there?" Andy asked. Juliet was quick on her feet as I thought of an excuse.

"We were talking about girl stuff. Drama and all that jazz," she said.

"Okay.." Andy said with his eyebrows pulled together. She kissed him, and sat down next to Jinxx.

"So, are you all excited for the wedding in three weeks!?" Juliet asked, but all I could think of was the fact that I was pregnant. I wasn't going to tell Ashley until after the wedding, so all the attention would be on Juliet and Andy instead of on me. Ashley rubbed my belly, giving me the impression that he knew, and my stomach started to flip.

"Excuse me," I blurted out, and I ran to the bathroom, getting there just in time to vomit. I felt my hair get pulled back not even a minute later.

"Do you want to go home, Audrey? You may have caught the flu. It's been going around, you know," Ashley said. I dry heaved a couple of times before I was sure nothing else was coming up, and I nodded. I flushed the toilet and rinsed my mouth in the sink. Ashley handed me a towel to dry my mouth with, and then he escorted me out of the bathroom. Juliet gave me a knowing look as Ashley told everyone that we were going to head home. I hugged everyone goodbye, and they all wished me to get better soon, and Ash and I left.

When we got home, Ash tucked me into bed with a kiss to my forehead, and he left me alone to nap, which I did, and it felt amazing. Until I woke up with the urge to puke. I rushed to the bathroom, and Ashley heard me, and he was by my side within the minute. He grabbed a random hair tie, and he tied my hair back for me.

"I love you, Ashley," I muttered five minutes later as I slumped against the bathroom wall. He kissed my temple and rubbed my thigh.

"I'll get you something to drink. Just stay right here, okay?" He asked. I nodded, and he left me in the rather cold bathroom. He didn't return for twenty minutes, so I got up and left after cleaning myself up. I returned to bed, and I fell back asleep.

Ashley didn't return until eight-thirty. I was up, and I was playing a game on my phone in the living room when he came rushing over to me. He knelt down in front of me, and I turned my phone off.

"You're pregnant?" He asked. I stood up, and so did he, and he held my hands.

"I didn't want to tell you until after the wedding. I didn't want to draw attention away from Andy's and Juliet's big weeks. I'm sorry," I said quietly. Ashley shook his head.

"We're gonna have a baby. Nothing else matters right now. I love you... so much," Ashley said. I smiled, and he pressed a loving kiss to my lips. He then pulled me into a comforting hug, and we stood there for a while, just enjoying each other's comfort.

"I love you too," I muttered as I closed my eyes as they filled with tears. Ashley just hugged me tighter and rocked me back and forth.
