Escaping Grace

Andys POV


What the fuck was her problem? I'd just been trying to help.
I sat at the bar, mulling it over.
She'd been fine this morning, not a thing wrong between us. In fact, if it hadn't been for Ashley, we probably would've had a round four.
I glanced back at him. He'd been the one to drag everyone out here anyway, and he was sitting in a booth with Vale and CC charming a group of fans with some exaggerated story.
I took anothet swig of beer.
It was too hot in here.
I rapped my fingers against the bar.
I KNOW I wasn't her fucking boyfriend.
I wasn't anything important to her whatsoever apparently.
I could tell she was sick, she'd been that way at the apartment when everyone thought she had a concussion. But she'd been okay since then, as far as I knew the symptoms had disappeared until today.
Not that it mattered.
I didn't give a fuck about how she felt.
I signaled for another beer.
I heard laughter and glanced back, seeing her brother sitting at a table with a brunette, she laughing at whatever he'd said. I could tell it was fake all the way from here.
I frowned, looking at her. She looked familiar.
I turned my attention back to my beer. I should have never slept with her. I knew she wasnt my type. I mean, I might have a thing for blondes, but Leah had too much baggage and I didn't need that. Fuck, she'd tried to tell me to back off. I was the idiot out of all of this.
I wasnt her boyfriend, I was just a casual fuck buddy. And I could tell I wasn't anything else.
Goddammit, this was my own fault. I'd fucked up our deal so bad it didn't even exist anymore.
"Hey."
I glanced over, seeing Dannys girl slip onto the barstool beside me. I looked for him, but he wasn't anywhere to be found.
"What?"
"You're having a bad day," she commented, and I scowled at her.
"What do you want?" I snapped. I was in no mood for her or anyone else to bother me tonight. I just wanted to get plastered.
"I just wanted to check on you," she shrugged, gazing at me over the rim of her red glasses. "Did someone piss you off?"
I couldn't even remember her name.
"Shouldn't you be faking it with Danny?" I asked, and downed what was left of my beer.
She pursed her lips, looking annoyed. "I don't know what you mean."
"I could tell your laugh was fake all the way to here. If you're trying to sleep with him, you'll need to do better then that."
She scowled at me.
"Dannys very sweet, but he's not who I'm here for."
I cut my eyes at her. She just gave me a coy smile.
"I'm more into lead singers, not their exs brother."
I straightened, eyeing her.
She wasn't bad to look at. She was wearing a red dress to match her glasses, and she was a lot tanner then Leah. Her legs were longer too.
She gave me another smile, then hooked a finger into the neck of my t shirt and pulled me down to her height. "You wanna get out of here, Andy?" she murmured in my ear. "And I'm actually no strings."
For a moment, I wondered how she knew that, then dismissed it. I didn't care what she knew, but her offer was tempting.
Leah had been the only one I'd been sleeping with since I met her, and I had never promised to be monogamous. I hadn't promised her anything.
But she... I didn't want anyone else but her.
Fuck it, I thought angrily.
she didn't care what I did, so maybe I needed someone new to get my mind off her.
"Sure." I stood, and the girl slipped her arm through mine with a grin.
I didn't mean anything to Leah, and she sure as hell didn't mean anything to me. A casual fuck where I wasn't going to lie awake hours afterward thinking about the girl would be a nice change.
We quickly left the bar.
