Forsaken, I Walk The Night Alone

Over It

Vale sat at Andy and her's desk. His hand rested on the back of her chair, protectively. The rest of the week had been horrid. The couple had been trying to avoid Vale's attackers but they kept coming around. Now they were in the last class of the day and were happy to have a weekend off.

Andy didn't leave Vale alone. He never let her go anywhere without him and it was starting to really get on her nerves.

If she had never fallen in love, if she had never let him kiss her then none of this would have happened. She could have gone on with her life, possibly ended up with Bret. Now she had Andy by her side constantly. Vale knew she loved him, she could feel it in every bone of her body but not even getting to go to the bathroom by herself? Anyone would get over that.

"Do you want to sleep in my room tonight, or me yours?" Andy asked as he finished up the last question on his worksheet.

"Doesn't matter." She shrugged, taking her book out of her bag. It was The Shining by Stephen King.

"I think Tallie's is sleeping in my room so I'll come to yours. We can have some privacy." He smiled.

"I can't believe someone hasn't caught us yet." She shook her head, looking up at him. He smirked to himself and looked away from her. "What?"

"Nothing.." He chuckled.

"Andy!" She swatted his shoulder.

"Ow!" He exclaimed. "Sometimes angels will pull some strings in Heaven. I think this is one of those times."

"Why do you think that?" She asked.

"I just do." He said, resting his hand on his knee and leaning back to look at her. Her eyes drifted towards Kelsey who was sitting next to Annalise and she felt her heart sink. Andy noticed, so he leaned in and kissed her ear before whispering, "We only have three minutes left of class and then you can ignore her for a little while."

"But we still have to come back." She said. He let his head fall on her shoulder as he nodded.

"It's alright." He said, softly. They sat silently for a little while until the bell finally rang. Andy stood up and wrapped his arm around Vale's waist. She winced at the feeling since her bruise seemed to have gotten worse in pain. CC and Tallie walked over to the couple and surrounded Vale.

The Angels glared at Kelsey and the others as they walked past. Vale kept her head down as she saw Ashley's wandering eyes and she couldn't help but wonder how so many enemies became known to them.

"Hey.." Andy stopped once they got outside the school. He leaned against the wall, holding her hand. He looked down at her, his neck arching perfectly as she locked her eyes with his.
"Everything is going to be okay, beautiful." He promised, brushing her hair back. She nodded and felt her heart flutter.

He leaned down to brush his lips lightly against her's while his hand held her cheek in place.

"Thank you."

"Anytime. Want to go up to my room?" He asked. She nodded and he pulled her to his side. They walked to their building and up to Andy's room, having seemingly lost CC and Talula.

Vale sighed as they both hit the bed and curled up next to each other. She couldn't help but feel like this was what they always did. She felt lazy, and really fucking bored. Although she loved the way Andy's arms felt around her, she couldn't sleep anymore.

She understood how Andy was so happy though. In Heaven, the pair never left each other's arms. They were always laying somewhere and not doing that for thousands of years must have really killed Andy. She was remembering things more and more frequently everyday.

Like different people, places, and her possessions all in Heaven. She asked Andy if they were real every time and he always said yes. The idea of her knowing what she was filled him with excitement and worry.

The more she knew the more Ashley, and the others could hold against her. "I feel like I haven't left this campus for years..."

He chuckled, "I'm sorry." Vale could barely hold back her eye roll. He was always so sweet and adorable. What was she to him? She had to seem just horribly rude to him!

She couldn't take it anymore.

She loved him but she needed a bit of a break. Like an hour by herself or something.

"I think I'm going to head to my room actually for a little while. I wanted to talk to Bret and the guys for a bit." Vale said, standing up and sighing as she saw Andy's face. He looked sad.

"Oh, do you want me to come with you?" He asked. She shook her head softly and brushed his hair back, before kissing him.

"I love you so much but I just need a little time to relax. Alright?" She smiled. He nodded a bit before kissing her again.

"I'm sorry for smothering you. I'm just worried to leave you alone.." He whispered.

"It's okay, love." She said, picking up her school bag. "See you at dinner?"

"Okay." He mumbled, watching her as she left. He flopped down on the bed and looked up at the springs of CC's bunk.

He walked in the room about five minutes later and quirked his eyebrow at his best friend. "What the hell?" He chuckled as he noticed how sad Andy looked. "Where's Vale?"

"Facetimeing her other friends." He groaned. CC chuckled and sat on his bed.

"Dude, you've got to accept that she hasn't known you for seventeen years and she has other people in her life." He said.

"It just sucks when all I want to do is hold her and she doesn't feel that way.." Andy sighed, rubbing his temples.

"It's been thousands of years for you and it hurts but you've got to give her space." CC chuckled.

"I know." Andy said, turning so he was looking at the wall. He bunched the pillow up so it was under his head more. "I'm going to take a nap." CC chuckled and stood up.

"Me too, Tal is hanging with Vale for a little while." He nodded as Andy looked at him.

"Tell her to keep her safe?" He pleaded.

"They're next door man." CC laughed.

"Whatever." Andy sighed, slipping his eyes shut. "Wake me up when it's time for dinner."

CC let out a breathy laugh before clapping his hand on his shoulder. "Will do."

"That was amazing guys." Vale giggled, clapping a bit. Her friends back home were playing her music and she loved it all.

"Thanks V!" Bret grinned at her. She glanced up at her doorway to see CC and Andy.

"Look, I've got to go guys. I love you all so so much and you sound great." She grinned as they all waved saying they loved her too. She ripped her earbuds out after she exited the video chat.
Andy walked over to her and offered his hand. Her eyes sparkled as she took it and she slid off her bed. "How was it?" He asked.

"Good." She smiled, squeezing his hand. Talula had gotten out of her top bunk and she kissed CC softly. Vale has been adamant about talking to her friends from back home and shut Talula out before she even had a chance to propose any time to hangout.

Valea was her best friend in Heaven and it broke Tallie's heart to not be a main priority in Vale's life. She understood that Vale was still new to everything but it hurt.

"Come on." Andy said, pulling her along with him as they all walked out of the room. Something was off about Andy and she was nervous as his hand clutched her's extremely tight.

"Andy are you okay?" She asked him as he pulled her along harshly.

"Fine." He mumbled. CC and Talula weren't following them again, and Vale started to silently wonder if they were even going to dinner.

"No your not." He just kept walking and she could somehow feel his anger in her chest. It must have been the whole soulmate thing. "Stop!" She exclaimed and he finally ceased walking. He stared into her eyes and swallowed hard. "You're scaring me.."

"I can't talk about it, okay?" He said, "It's just not something I'm wanting to discuss at the moment so let's drop it."

"Then stop acting like an ass." She said, crossing her arms.

"I'm sorry, Vale." He whispered. "I'm just scared about this."

"Than tell me?" She said, grabbing his shoulders. "It's alright."

He looked up at her worriedly and curled his hands around wrists. "It's time, Vale."
Shock settled to the very core of her stomach as she registered exactly what he was saying. "T-time t-to.."

"Yes." He nodded. "We're not supposed to be here and it's the only way to have your family forget.."

"So that means we have to have.." Once again Vale couldn't finish the sentence.

"Sex." He whispered. "I prefer the term make love though.."

"However you want to say it, it's still losing my virginity.." She said, her breathing growing heavy. She sank down against the wall and buried her face in her hands.

"Hey, shh." He sat next to her and wrapped his arms around her tiny body. "It's okay."

"I'm just scared.." She sobbed into his shoulder as he scooped her up in his arms. He walked back to her room and laid her down on her bed. He ran his fingers through her hair as she cried.

"It's okay, love." He promised, leaning down and pressing his lips to her forehead. He moved her head so it was resting on his knee and he wrapped his hand in her hair.

"I don't want to see anybody but you right now.." She whispered against his pants.

"You don't have too." He nodded, taking her hand in his. They were both silent for a little while just taking in the reality that was about to come.

Suddenly, Vale asked, "When?"

"Soon." Andy replied, running his fingers softly along her scalp. She sighed and looked down. This whole thing felt forced and Vale was scared.

Terrified, even, that this was the wrong choice.

Happy hear day guys!

If you're really attached to the idea of being on the popular page, I suggest updating frequently, which makes your story more visible, and making your story really long. What I have written is not, by far, the best available, but sometimes my longer story will randomly become "popular." I couldn't figure out why, until I realized, it's, like, 160 pages long as a word document! So, if I get a new reader, and they read it all from start to finish, that's like a short story getting, like, 40 views! I mean, it still has almost no subscribers or comments. Just a thought. ;)
